    I agree with you! Recently purchased the same model (different finish) and just love it! Don't be afraid of the neck size...it's very comfortable.

    Congratulations! I have the 2019 in cherry burst. I love mine. Gibson seems to be working hard to get their quality, and reputation back to where it once was. Love the Burstbuckers!

      Did yours come with 9s? I think they put 9s on mine, hence the zing with low action. The camera mic seems to be really sensitive to that freq, in the room it was barely audible

      @@zelon1983 Yes, mine came with 9's. I didn't think I'd like them, but now I love them. They make you control your picking more.

    Just wonderful! Congrats
    Next week I’m also going to get a Gibson Les Paul 50s in Tobacco Sunburst. Can’t wait! Gonna test also the 60s and Classic, but I am pretty sure it will be the 50s :)
    Cheers!

    Thanks much for a good video demo. The only thing you may consider is turning off the reverb for at least part of the playing portion. It gets in the way hearing the tone as well as I'd like. Thanks again.

    I’ve got this same one. Same finish. I love it although I don’t play it near enough. I also have the 50s Gold Top P90 one. Now that thing is heavy! It’s just under 11 pounds.

    Curious… what do you mean Gibson doesn’t say whether flamed or figured?! A Burst is known for it from when Gibson began using flamed maple late 58 to early 59… by 60, most were pretty well flamed. They absolutely lists the standard 50’s w/ a AA Flamed Maple top?!

    Sounds great. What amp are you using?

      Victory Sheriff 22 for clean and crunch tones, Marshall Mini Silver Jubilee for high gain tones

    was there a tobacco burst les paul in the 50s? I thought this historic line included only those models released in the 50s and 60s. The earliest tobacco burst on a les paul i ever saw was a 70s model; before that there were only gold tops and cherry bursts (perhaps i am wrong)

      All original bursts started as sunbursts (nowadays called cherry sunburst) but since the paint was susceptible to UV light, they all aged into different kinds of bursts. Some lost the redish colour completely and on some, the redish colour changed into bourbon or tobacco

    Are the pickups potted?

    • @zelon1983
      @zelon1983  Рік тому +1

      Gibson isn't specific about it. In the past the OEM burstbuckers were unpotted and the aftermarket ones were potted. These ones? Not sure. I guess the only way to find out is to pull them out and check...but I'm not doing that! 🙂

      @vlj1133 Рік тому +1

      Yes, they are definitely potted.
