  • How To Make The Perfect Chicken Shawarma
    Ingredients:
    For the Chicken Shawarma:
    * 500g boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, thinly sliced
    * 2 cloves garlic, minced
    * 1 teaspoon cornstarch
    * 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    * 1/2 teaspoon thyme
    * 1 teaspoon dried chives
    * 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
    * 2 teaspoons onion powder
    * 1/2 teaspoon pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
    * 2 teaspoons olive oil
    * 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    * 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    * Salt to taste
    * 1 cube chicken bouillon
    * Juice of 1/2 lemon
    * 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking the chicken)
    For the salad:
    * Cabbage, julienned
    * Carrot, julienned
    * Yellow bell pepper, julienned
    * 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    * Green onions
    * Sweet corn
    For the dressing:
    * 2-3 tablespoons mayonnaise
    * Juice of half lemon
    Additional Ingredients:
    * Shredded cheese (such as parmesan, cheddar or mozzarella)
    * Chopped fresh green onions for garnish (optional)
    * 3 large tortillas or wraps
    Instructions:
    Marinate the Chicken:
    1. In a bowl, add thinly sliced chicken, olive oil, minced garlic, corn starch, garlic powder, thyme, turmeric, chives, onion powder, pepper flakes, salt, Worcestershire sauce, sesame oil, chicken bouillon, and lemon juice.
    2. Toss until well coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
    Prepare the Coleslaw:
    1. In a separate bowl, combine julienned cabbage, bell pepper, julienned carrot, green onions and sweet corn.
    2. Add lemon juice, and mix until the vegetables are evenly coated. Set aside.
    Grill the Chicken
    1. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add olive oil and the marinated chicken slices in a single layer.
    2. Cook for 4-7 minutes on each side or until the chicken is cooked through and nicely charred. Remove from heat and set aside.
    Assemble the Wraps:
    1. Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface.
    2. Add some vegetable salad mixture on the wrap.
    3. Top with a generous portion of grilled chicken shawarma.
    4. Add mayonnaise over the chicken shawarma.
    5. Add some cheese and sprinkle with green onions, if desired.
    Roll the Wraps:
    1. Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to form a wrap.
    2. Secure the wrap with a toothpick if needed.
    3. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling ingredients.
    4. Warm the tortillas or wraps on a dry skillet until slightly crispy.
    Serve:
    1. Slice the wraps in half, if desired.
    2. Serve immediately, and enjoy your delicious Chicken Shawarma Wraps!
