  • This is a tutorial and 'how to' on how to catch flounder with the most effective flounder fishing lure- the Berkley Gulp! Swimming Mullet new color in Orange Tiger. This tutorial goes through everything from the jighead, the line and the technique of how to properly fish for tons of flounder.
Here is the link to the exact lure I am talking about in this vid
It's a Berkley GULP! Swimming Mullet and the color is Orange Tiger

    I fish the 4" on a 3/8 oz jighead

I moved to Charleston, SC 10 years ago and have never went saltwater fishing. I watched your video yesterday and headed to the tackle shop to pick up some gear. Unfortunately they didn't have the same color gulp bait so I picked up the only option which was pink. I caught 2 flounder using your techniques outlined in the video and cannot thank you enough!!

I want to thank you for the information provided because I thought I would try your method, wading along the boca chica beach jetty in south Texas and in about 20 minutes, I caught my first flounder. Looking forward to catching more.

That is the spot, at the end of that lone jetty, where I caught my personal best 29.5" and 9lbs14ounce flounder. It would have been over 10lbs, but when it saw the net, It threw up its stomach contents. Enjoyed the video.

Nice video. Another great rig witch I use The most is a teaser rig. I tie a loop with a surgeons knot at the bottom and 1 foot up I tie a dropper loop. The bottom gets a Spro bucktail and gulp and the top gets either a smaller Spro bucktail and gulp or a 3/0-5/0 gamakatsu bait holder hook and gulp. I’ve caught some really big fluke with this rig.

Had a great day on the 4” White down here in the OBX....put 5 flounder and 3 mackerel on the shore....released all, but it was a blast this morning....your channel is the best...keep doing what your doing...great stuff! By the way, this was my 1st ever salt water day, and it was a successful outing due to your insights....I’ve been exclusively fresh water til now. May have to make this a habit!

best way in my opinion for halibut/flounder...drop shot! 3/8 oz weight about 8 inches up use a size 2 wide gap hook and throw on the z-man curly tailz in new penny or all white and my lord you will destroy them. keep the weight dragging across the bottom and i think you will do very well, but i enjoy your videos a lot keep up the good work

Very nice tips. You're one of the bests that I found in UA-cam. Here in Brazil, people use a lot artificial shrimps, but I don't see other people using it in any other place in the world. Do you know why this happens? In your opinion, the lures that you are showing in this video would work better in here too? Greats from Brazil.

Braid is lighter and stronger . You can fit a lot more braid vs mono . Also it handles abrasive things in the water a lot better . Regardless you always want to use leader (not wire , floro or mono is best)

Gulp is good, effective, somewhat fragile, and expensive. Better gang/buck with Zman 10x elastics. One or two will last you all day. Also, procure does not stick to gulp very well. Z man, some have slits to hide the hook, and make a perfect pocket for the scent,it sticks well.

He answered me "Gotta use Z-Man" but ... Though I didn't say so I was asking him about that exact same spot where he's fishing in this video. The spot where he's using Gulp not Z-Man. So I'm still not sure what to do about crabs, pinfish and all the other nuisances that attack expensive soft plastic lures and ruin them before they ever catch a decent fish.
