Rumour has it the original owner of the property went down to London to pick up orphans to work his mills just down the way. The Mills are haunted by screams of children who died slaving away for the mill owner after the roof was removed. That's what we were told whilst we stayed there anyway.. My dad said he felt like he was being watched as he went out to the car in the pitch black before we were told the stories.. Made some good memories from our stay here despite the ghosts. My folks started talking about the shining and it gave me the eeby jeebies... Always remember the smell of the wax on the walking boots drying out in the youth hostels we stayed at.
Good vid...I stayed at Ravenstor yha when I first visited the Peak District when I was in my early 20s. I'm now 65. Looks pretty much the same...from what I can recall! I think you've inspired me to make another trip up from Kent!
