It was the most entertaining video I've seen in a long time. I know all of the stores, but here I felt so excited as if I saw everything for the first time. Thanks for the video. If you ever come to Hamburg again, get in touch 😉.
That was so fun to listen to. Wow! I’m exhausted just listening through. Inspirational! I would have lost it long before. Thanks for sharing. The ‘no’ guy was hilarious
wow the hostility from the NO guy was odd. why not just close the store and stay home if he didn't feel like doing anything that day? sounds kinda like he's already rich from something else and the store is his hobby but he's very cranky about it
The phrase "careful, a customers threats with a purchase" is often used to describe the missing customer service in Germany, but this guy really seams strange… Absolutely a no-go for me.
I love that at the end of the video the end credits music of Mask of Light kicks in like BAM this is the ultimate conclusion. Great video honestly, good to see everything worked out in the end.
For the pursuit of happiness, I think you handled your experience extremely well. The amount of stress seeing the haul on the bed…. Bro how. I would’ve died there. I surprised none of the local vendors gave you a personal voyage to the bus after that kind of purchase
Hahaha - it was very tight in the moment of packing, that’s why there’s barely any footage of me actually packing it up as I had no time to even film, just nonstop boxing and running lol - but in retrospect it was a very fun time and a fun story to tell :)
that old guy sounds crazy haha i wana go press him 4 that slizor set ! i also have 2 say ur formatting 4 these travel vlog style videos is great , very entertaining
OMG my heart was sinking as you said you were going to have to leave the boxes behind, having those original boxes to me is worth more then whats inside or at least thats what makes them so cool to me i guess LOL! I am glad that you made it home safe and at the end of the day you got everything you wanted.
Bus having problems is such a normal Deutsche Bahn moment, happens all the time. Switzerland now plans in dalays for trains coming from germany because of their unreliability.
Steinzeit looks cool, I have to check it out some time. Usually I only visit the official Lego store over there. The Hamburger Comic-Laden is probably the weirdest shopping experience I have heard of in Germany. How is the store even open?
Same for Steinzeit, lhikan for 30€ euros!! how, the minimum i can buy him on bricklink with the box is 80€ or 100 on average. That’s like buying lhikan when he came out.
With bus lines it's necessary to look online for the scheduling on the bus network's site or app. It will have all the information on interruptions and scheduling changes that will not often to be honest be reflected on google maps. So yeah...
Wow, crazy tour… And yes, HVV is notorious for relocating bus stops, changing schedules and so on for construction work. In my area basically every single line has some "Baustellenfahrplan", which is a special schedule for the construction time. And while those are only temporary, they are usually only replaced by another one. Because of this is strongly recommend getting the "HVV App", if you are around Hamburg, where you can follow the real and actual routes. All the other apps don't keep up with the constant changes. Also several bus stops are three way (Berner Chaussee is one of them!): One northbound, one southbound both on the bigger Bramfelder Chaussee and a third one going into the actual Berner Chaussee…
Oh, and for your travel to Bardowick you really had a lot of luck… not only the schedule was an absolute mess with all the construction work during that time but even this was pure theory… I tried the same "fun" just one day later (the other direction) and this time even the HVV app failed on me. So 9:28 from Lüneburg "canceled"… 10:28? Arrives 10:57 and by about 11:30 I finally was in Hamburg (theory would be 10:07 I think, but that never worked for me…). The way back wasn't any better: RE3 only to start from Harburg, so I had to get there with 1 minute to switch (impossible on that confusion station…). So I had to get one S3/S31 earlier giving me about 8 min… Out of the train in Harburg "relocated to track 5"… Did I mention Harburg is confusing? So where the heck is that now and over there (over the bridge!)… only to wait for another 20 minutes for the train to actually start (It was already standing there all the time).
What an experience! I'm a bit disappointed in my fellow Germans because so few people tried to help you. Any German who did not flunk high school should speak enough English to give directions to a bus stop without a translator. But it's great to hear that you also met people who were nice and friendly, and that you even consider coming back one day!
As a BIONICLE fan and collector the trip where they shipped G2 sets straight to your hotel room door was the best trip so far! That ‘shop’ (if you can even call it that) with the BIONICLE banner is incredible though except from the owner that loved saying ‘NO’. What an insane trip and adventure! The transport systems sounds disastrous. That Toa Lhikan & Kikanalo though, incredible. Was it sealed?
25:45 ohhh snap, here we go again haha, German public transport is NOTORIOUS for being a massive pain in the a**. (no front, as a local, that is nothing but da truth) Very entertaining vlog btw hahaha

On the comic laden (hamburger) website/online store it says click and collect is available which is what I have to assume is the actual use the the store front, just for click and collect... which is odd that he didn't ever say that or wrote it anywhere, unless it was and was in German anyway.
