Imagine you a young man sitting in one of those choppas en route to a random civil war in Africa or Asia. You know that its up to you and your brothers in arms to aid the rebels and make the tiny spark of freedom a little brighter salvaging what little you can from this rotten world. Although the original intent for the SAW was a Vietnam analogue, I think it also works as the game's equivalent to the Korean War. (Conflict over a mix of wide open and extremely hilly terrain, southern government backed by a UN/NATO style organization, massive infantry zerg rushes combined with aerial dogfights and bombardments, North becomes a brutal totalitarian hellhole etc). Plus the Post-Colonial Conflicts if the Mandates fail and/or Huttig goes completely batshit.

Left NPP is strongly for Intervention and especially anti-Japanese Revanchism while also representing a Social Democracy and Socialist Welfare Programs/Economic Reforms. And considering that it's a cold war where Communism isn't present (only if Soviet Remnants reunify Russia, and even than they would most likely side with the Americans, or at least not be hostile to them) it seems possible that a moderate Left Wing party grows in Popularity when their country is the biggest bastion against Fascism.

@@MM-jn7nb Honestly its more realistic that way. The South African War is supposed to mirror OTL's Vietnam war. South Vietnam was completely helpless without US aid, so it makes sense to do the same with South Africa.
@@restitutororbis964 There is a major diffrence though, in this the USA cant put hundreds of thousands on the ground in South Africa normaly (Unless they do some stuff the AI never does with its divisions) so SA normaly loses. It should at least have a chance at survival for the AI and be a bit easier for a player.

Imagine you a young man sitting in one of those choppas en route to a random civil war in Africa or Asia. You know that its up to you and your brothers in arms to aid the rebels and make the tiny spark of freedom a little brighter salvaging what little you can from this rotten world.
As your transport nears the landing zone you are reminded of the images that are now entrenched in your nightmares. The nazi Empire standing over Europe like a mighty Leviathan. Their machines and soldiers powerful and many. Almost invincible. Same with the Japanese. You shudder at the thought of facing their forces but when you see the hopeful eyes of the populace awaiting your arrival you know that the risk is worth it.

Although the original intent for the SAW was a Vietnam analogue, I think it also works as the game's equivalent to the Korean War. (Conflict over a mix of wide open and extremely hilly terrain, southern government backed by a UN/NATO style organization, massive infantry zerg rushes combined with aerial dogfights and bombardments, North becomes a brutal totalitarian hellhole etc). Plus the Post-Colonial Conflicts if the Mandates fail and/or Huttig goes completely batshit.
I wonder how the SAW would affect US vets returning home even in a total war and peace victory for the OFN. Maybe seeing the horrors of the nazis first hand would create a much stronger left wing in the US

Left NPP is strongly for Intervention and especially anti-Japanese Revanchism while also representing a Social Democracy and Socialist Welfare Programs/Economic Reforms. And considering that it's a cold war where Communism isn't present (only if Soviet Remnants reunify Russia, and even than they would most likely side with the Americans, or at least not be hostile to them) it seems possible that a moderate Left Wing party grows in Popularity when their country is the biggest bastion against Fascism.

@@MM-jn7nb Honestly its more realistic that way. The South African War is supposed to mirror OTL's Vietnam war. South Vietnam was completely helpless without US aid, so it makes sense to do the same with South Africa.
@@restitutororbis964 There is a major diffrence though, in this the USA cant put hundreds of thousands on the ground in South Africa normaly (Unless they do some stuff the AI never does with its divisions) so SA normaly loses. It should at least have a chance at survival for the AI and be a bit easier for a player.
