+Brett Owen I met and sat at a bar with him in 1983. He was one of the most soft spoken and attentive people I've ever met. He was genuine and seemed interested in what was being talked about. A great guy.
I used to be a roadie. But my dream job would have been Ronnie's monitor mix man...hahahahaha. Then i could listen to him every night live with the headphones. What a powerful singer.
i saw his grave and it really just hit me when i saw his name etched there with the years he lived beneath it , just like any other man's grave . I never knew or met him obviously but just seeing the name Ronnie James Dio on that stone really was like a kick in the guts for some reason
I can't get enough of this guy....been in love with him for 35 years. He was the one and only metal God. From a different era where there were still morals, class and talent. True gentleman.
Wow...any vocal coach would tell you that drinking a beer right before a vocal take is a bad idea. It's cold, for starters. But what are you going to do...argue with the greatest metal singer of all time? He knows damn well what he's doing. I've been studying his voice the past few days, and good heavens, he had a fantastic range and BEAUTIFUL tone at all notes. Astoundingly great tone. What a talent! I'm so glad I got to see him twice while he was alive.
man... why do we always lose all the best voices? it's seriously a horrible tragedy... Rest in peace Ronnie James Dio I know you're in heaven jamming with Chris Cornell, and all the other great artists who have passed away
God bless you Ronnie I miss you so much :..( RIP mate DIO was the first live band I ever saw I was 14 it was the Scared Heart tour 1986 at Newcastle City Hall it blew me away
This was really a redemption album after "Dream Evil". I was so relieved to hear songs like "Evil on Dream Street" and "Lock up the Wolves" that were amazingly good again. Great to see it take a minute for that voice to come out. It's really good to know that even a vocal god like Ronnie needs a few minutes to get the pipes relaxed and let loose the wall of sound that was Ronnie James Dio. Miss you, Ronnie.
The early '90's with Dio. I was at this Lock up the Rules 65 percent full audience that Dio and band rocked in Lakewood, Fla. in a large group of Metalites that came into stage and Rocked for 2 Hours. Loved it. Fuck Grunge. What an awesome party dumbasses missed ! I swear I was there !
That bass tone. I'm taken back to when I first listened to Leftoverture all the way through, and how that bass sound captured my ears. This track also sounds great.
Rowan Robertson.. after sending his demo to Dio's label and being rejected, then sent it to his fan club and landed the audition that would eventually lead him to be the lead guitarist for one of his idols... fantastic story and a dream realised! Plus I love the way he plays... good solid rock guitar player with real fire in his fingers.... dare I say, a little like Blackmore... only a nicer guy I'm sure. :)
Look at the computer screen at 0:29!!! It's incredible how (recording) technology has changed since the 90s. It's less than 20 years - yet it seems this is as far away as the middle ages...
Don't worry people, no one dislikes Ronnie. They have hit dislike because they wish he was never born. Which means they would not of had to deal with the heart ache of his passing. That should be obvious. Those 14 people aren't just fan's, there hardcore Dio obsessionals. Long live rock'n'roll
Such a great moments in history seeing them in studio making the iconic "Lock Up The Wolves" album. R.I.P. Ronnie my wish that you and Yngwie make an album together would never ever materialized.
The song is in honor of Dio, like a tribute. I did give Dio his space but when your on the road following a tour in small towns, you run in to the guy. If you want to see him, just go to the best Indian restarant in town for lunch on the day that he's playing.
May the voice of metal rest in peace. He will not ever be forgoten.Happy trails brother. Thank you for your influence and directions you've left behind for generations to come.
Dio was amazing. God bless you Ronnie, I hope you are happy and rocking in heaven. Rest in peace brother, your music will be in our hearts forever. Ciao fratello

Se nos fué este pequeño gigante!! pero la muerte no apagará el legado que nos dejó...su voz seguirá viva por siempre...y cuando el cielo truene, recuerden, es el concierto que Dio está dando en el Olimpo!
Dio was irked at me because I went to every show and would always sing this little song to him in public places to the tune of Lady Evil. Ronnie DeeeeOOOOOO, Dio! He's a magical, mystical singer! Ronnie DeeeeeOOOOOO! Dio! He's king of the night, all right!
@DesertRacer75 he isnt gone you know, he still lives on as the spirit of metal, summoned with every heavy riff, every note of the singer and every time the horns are thrown up in the air \m/
the best heavy metal vocalist of all time.........
Damn straight 🤘🤘
Miss him too 🤘
He is the God of Metal all the others are just his subjects
@@threalismaradona9899 The devil, I would say...
Why do people always want a best? Tons of great metal vocalists. I can rattle off at least 20 and none are the best because they all are.
my left ear enjoyed this
lol
not at you. Hopefully with you if your hearing is lost for the same reason as mine :)
I thought my headphones were broken.
😂
Welcome to mono
I could listen to Ronnie talk for hours, let alone sing! He was just so damn eloquent and articulate. Beautiful voice spoken or sung.
Absolutely! So true...
+Brett Owen I met and sat at a bar with him in 1983. He was one of the most soft spoken and attentive people I've ever met. He was genuine and seemed interested in what was being talked about. A great guy.
Oh man! What I would give to have been there! That must have been an incredible experience. You are very fortunate to have that to look back on.
I used to be a roadie. But my dream job would have been Ronnie's monitor mix man...hahahahaha. Then i could listen to him every night live with the headphones. What a powerful singer.
Yea unlike ozzy XD
His voice is legendary and so powerful from such a little man. Rob Halford and DIO, two of my all time favs of Metal singers. RIP RONNIE.

He makes it look so easy I felt I was watching a magician.

Singing is bad for the voice, running bad for the knees. Lifting weights bad for the joints, reading bad for the eyes.
That’s Rock n’ Roll
🤘😬🤘
He only drank Guinness at room temperature, the way it's supposed to be served.
man... why do we always lose all the best voices? it's seriously a horrible tragedy... Rest in peace Ronnie James Dio I know you're in heaven jamming with Chris Cornell, and all the other great artists who have passed away
Dio god of heavy metal

R.I.P. Ronnie, I'll never forget your "one of a kind" voice! Glad to have seen you performing live!

Its really rare footage of Ronnie James and the band. RIP the legendary heavy metal
16yrs old and playing with Dio....one can only dream!
+Musta Krakish you could have been a dreamer!
+Musta Krakish the world is full of kings and queens who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
+Musta Krakish I got the chance at 44 yrs old. better late than never.

I liked his gag about the mixing desk being a giant slot machine... pretty right.
I was born in 1990!!! Dio was the best heavy metal vocalist EVER!!! 😈💖😈💖😈💖😈💖😈💖😈
his voice is beautiful
I miss him so bad even the so called bad albums... DIO never made anything bad.
bah drunk i ment even through the so called bad albums.. best singer ever.. \m/
Beerm3 Dio made only one truly rotten album: Angry Machines. Terrible! It is ONLY Dio album that I won't listen to.
Angry Machines is a masterpiece.
Don't agalogize for yourself, apologize to Dio! Dum ass!

Yelling Elk yeah he's not bad at all, I was surprised when he played the first solo
Ronnie used to play tromphet when he was a child until his teenager years what gave him a great technique to sing and even a better way to smoke.
He didnt smoke except Pot time to times
Only Dio can get away with a beer before delivering pure magic. Absolutely love you ronnie and miss you
