- This delicious couscous is delicious, healthy and ridiculously easy to make. Use it as meal prep for the week, it stores really well in tupperwares :) Or use as a side dish for some more moroccan veggies!
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
½ red pepper (small dice)
1/2 red onion (small dice)
1 small courgette (small dice)
1 tsp salt
1 cup dried cous cous
¼ cup raisins
1.25 cups of boiling water
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp black pepper
2 cloves garlic (grated)
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 cup grated carrot
1 cup canned chickpeas (rinsed and drained)
1/2 cup of fresh coriander (chopped)
1/2 cup fresh mint (chopped)
1/2 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
Pinch salt
1/2 cup toasted flaked almonds
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
Method:
1 Scatter the red pepper, red onion and courgette on a baking tray. Drizzle with the olive oil and sprinkle over the salt. Bake for 20 minutes at 180℃
2 Meanwhile, in a small bowl whisk the cumin, ground coriander, cinnamon, turmeric, black pepper, grated garlic, lemon juice and olive oil with the boiling water. Pour over the dried cous cous and raisins (in a large mixing bowl). Cover with clingfilm and leave to stand for 10 minutes. Once soaked and cooled slightly, fluff up the grains with a fork.
3 Add the chickpeas, grated carrot and fresh herbs (reserving some herbs for garnish) and give everything a good stir.
4 Scatter over the almonds, pomegranate and remaining herbs and serve.

I just made this for lunch with a little adjustment to the amount of spices In accordance to my Indian pallete and used hot oil. I absolutely fell in love with this recipe it has so much variation and flavour in every bite and yet it doesn’t feel heavy at all it’s very light, fulfilling ,vibrant and very fragrant too. Thank you !
I made it today with a little adjustments and it was honestly so delicious and flavourful. Love the blend of spices, thanks so much for sharing!
Super healthy recipe,,each n every ingredient is just so good for health,,all plant based too,,,,full of fiber
This became a household staple. So delicious. Thank you.
I make this recipe too but instead of using raw spices...i saute them in oil n toss it in. For me it tastes better like that.
for how many persons is the recipe ? it doesnt say :(
Arey haldi, dalchini, jeera, kali mirch ye sab kisi authentic cuisine me nhi milta hai Bharat ke alawa. Sab copied hai.
@@ss2616 Cumin actually originated from eastern meditterranean countries, around Egypt and Syria and Cinnamon from sri lanka. Turmeric was used for many years in different cultures including China for medicine, though India started using it in cooking earliest. And yes black pepper originates from India. But most of your statements are just incorrect :/ You can love your own country without ignoring historical facts on a video about a different cultures beautiful food.
Kya ye couscous daliya ka bhai behen hai?

This is the first time I've made couscous from scratch, I normally buy the ones in packets, just adding water, but this will be my go to couscous recipe. Love it, I added a few prunes and apricots and it was a great addition
great news! so happy to hear you liked the recipe xx
Made this today but didnt have almond flakes so used pumpkin seeds delicious. Thank you from Scotland. Going to have the rest tomorrow with baked salmon!
I tried this last night, added 4 beans for protein and it was amazing! Thanks for the recipe
fantastic! Glad you liked it x
Oh that's amazing! I tried many times to use Cauliflower rice instead of cous cous. I'll give a try with those great ingredients! Thanks a lot!!!
Love. Will make.
Browsing what to cook today, I think 🤔! something easy healthy and delicious. It will be this recipe.
A-ma-zing! Adjusted the ingredient list a bit to my student budget and it is still by far the best meal I made since I have been living on my own. And that is for 2 years already! U guys make it so much fun to be on this plant-based adventure ;)
Made it today. Really good!

I tried this and it was wonderful!! Instantly subscribed! Usually when I try a recipe from online, it almost always does not taste as good as it looks. This however, was really flavourful and delicious! Thank you!

So glad you liked it!! 😊
Lovely👍
I don't know how is that moroccan! It's just a mediterranian salad, i am moroccan and we don't put half thoses spices in the actual dish... so put : moroccan inspired
Thanks for sharing....how do you do it than to be more authentic?
@@lydiapetra1211 Hi Petra, you can easily find an authentic recipe just by searching for "Moroccan Couscous recipe". This is not it. The way you would identify a more authentic recipe is if there is a big plate with couscous covered with a sauce which has different vegetables and meat. That would be closer but this has nothing to do the way Moroccans make couscous and its frankly a little annoying how people just add "Moroccan" to it for views or just because they think its cool. Nothing about this recipe makes it Moroccan, not the couscous or the raisins or the almonds. It does look lovely though, and probably tastes great too, its just not Moroccan.
@@rukeia3560 The first recipe result on google searching "moroccan couscous" is exactly like this. What does it matter if it is or not? It isn't bad for moroccans to take the credit for this lovely recipe.
Aoa
I want to make Moroccan couscous can u plz refer me any video of its authentic recipe my husband ate it when he visited france
What is a good Moroccan recipe?
yummy!
How long is this good for in the fridge please?
Can i roast the vegies.in the frypan instead of roasting in the oven?
Wow! Made this and it was amazing! But i stir fry the spices first and added diced tomatoes and cucumbers as well. Ate it with baked lamb as the main course and added greek yogurt and a slice of lemon as a side.
Why would you add a murdered baby lamb to such a beautiful meal 😩 love them, don’t eat them.
This looks wonderful, on my menu this week. How many people does it feed? Thanks
amazing! This should be good for 3-4 people with normal appetites, plus maybe a green salad on the side for an extra healthy kick...
104 if each person has 1 table spoon each !
What is that song please?
Look so delicious 🤤🤤👌😁New subscribed
If you press the X on the top left hand side of your screen. You will see the long list of ingredients & the Method for preparing it. It looks Yummy. ☘️☘️☘️☘️
Yummy ☘️☘️☘️. But what is in it. It looks really easy to make but what is in it. Please€ Tell use. . Thank You. …. ☘️☘️☘️☘️
Thanks for the recipe... however it was bland. I would reccomend adding more garlic and ABSOLUTELY adding salt to the spice blend before the cous cous. Someone suggested frying the spices first which is what i will do next time. The duration and time recommendded for the roast veg was not long enough or hot enough, plus the seasoning was bland. I think grilling them would be tastier. Adding the lemon afterwards too is essential.
Who else started freestyling to the beat in his head?
Props! I see you with Pete Rock’s Soul brother logo 👀👀
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmao
Woow
did he use olive oil on the salad?
How do u prepare the chick peas???
we just used a tin of chickpeas 😊
2 minutes baking the vegetables.?
i like music
Ano klase pag ayos f ko gets
Loving your recipes recently, but could you keep the info on how long to roast things on the screen for a little longer - it's hard to read them in time!
If you click 'Show More' under the video, the full recipe and method is written out with cooking times to make it easier :)
Thanks, that helps! ( just one second longer though would be enough! ;) )
The Ongoing Wow or you could just pause the video?

Evolving vegan here for life altering vegan goodies 😋
8 did not see about making the veg for 2 min either. But They took the tray to what I presume was the oven. A great pity they do not tell us all that is in it. ☘️
how much of couscous to water ratio?
1C couscou : 1.25C boiling water
Ma il dosaggio è l, ingredienti?
You have to cook the couscous my darlin, but if you like it this way, enjoy 😋❤
It did get cooked using the absorb method. Boiling water was added then the bowl was covered and left to sit for 10 mins = cooked.
May not be authentic Moroccan but its yummy!
Hi, could this be made GF please? thanks
sure! you could swap the couscous for quinoa x
Thanks!
no man this is anything but moroccan
Lessen the use of plastics and just cover with a pot lid or plate. Skip on the oil too.
Oil is actually healthy and it is needed in this recipe though...
What about the raisins? 🤔🤔🤔
You can buy those reusable beeswax wraps quite easily (even vegan wax wraps).
Am I the only one who noticed the video says bake the veg for 2 minutes 😂
Me too...
Quick and easy 🤨?
Is this recipe accidentally Gluten Free?
Thank you🙌but my dear if you would do the talking and not the music🙌it would be much more understood🙌🙌🌷
It's too fast to read everything properly. I had to slow down the speed.
please steam it for atleast half an hour unless you want a messed up stomach
Looks great but no need to use plastic wrap to cover the cous cous...use a plate. #zeroplastics
I don’t know what that is but that’s not a Moroccan couscous.
الا كاينة ف الدول المغاربية الاخرى الله اعلم ولكن ففرنسا تيديروه بحال هاكا.... غاهو ماشي وصفة مغربية ...
majda e I don’t speak arabic
Ok maybe in other north africain
country have like this recipe.. im morrocan we didnt ... But in france they make couscous salade ... Im sorry for my english
majda e yes but they called it Moroccan couscous but that’s not a Moroccan couscous.
Moroccan couscous is not the same
Moroccan couscous?!!!
Couscous is mostly made from Morocco and Algeria but altogether it’s North African including Morocco,Algeria,Tunisia
that is not how you make you boil couscous and put long cut vegies in it boiled with parsley and a lot of cool things
Mmmmm...but - raisins? Eeeeuuw!, shades of 1960's Vesta curries with sultanas! 🤣🤣🤣
Talk !!!
The couscous is an African dish
please named anything you like but morrocain couscous, some respect to major traditional recipes from other countries.
Can you please provide us with an authentic recipe?
It has nothing to do with Moroccan couscous
Quick and easy... only 50 ingredients haha
Demasiado ligero el video.estoy mareada noconsigo leer lo del horno.
Seriously. Can you keep the words on screen for longer than half a second?!
Looks nice and all but this is not Moroccan Couscous, yall are lucky we are chill about food unlike Italians.
Lmao ikr
Tralala Jjj - Hahahahhahaha truuuuuue 😂! Italians (and Spaniards, Greeks, sometimes the French and Portuguese too) go crazy when you change their authentic original recipes 🤣
Great recipe but the video is too fast
Moroccan Couscous ??!!!!!🥺😀
1 tsp of pepper is def too much! It ruined it for us
And i had to watch it on speed 0.5 which was really annoying 😒
Slow it down....
As a moroccan this is offensive to the moroccan couscous...this is not how it is made
I made this yesterday and instead of using chickpeas i threw the fucking dish out the window because that is not moroccan in the slightest. Just call it couscous, not Moroccan.
This video is so fast can’t able to catch the ingredients ..👎
And here am I, thinking that only Italians need anger management because of other countries, especially America, performing a masacre on their traditional dishes, but I think this one is even worse for the Moroccans. This is in no way shape or form Moroccan couscous, it is like making spaghetti by mixing instant noodles with heinz tomato ketchup and calling it traditional Italian Spaghetti. Just stop it
This has nothing to do with Moroccan couscous.
This is not a Moroccan couscous
Sorry but that one is not Moroccan at all
Very bland . I added lemon but it just didn’t help.Really wanted this to be nice, sorry. Had to throw it all out .
I am Moroccan and I tell you all, this is not Moroccan couscous 😭😭😭
This is not Moroccan couscous at all. Am Moroccan I’m 32 years I never saw someone make it like this ways
NOT MORROCAN
Achraf Fatini no it’s not the moroccan way to make the moroccan taste of kouskous guy , wth is that
Sorry but as a moroccan you will get a stomackache the is not cooked
There is absolutely nothing Moroccan in that couscous
Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with Moroccan couscous. No soy sauce, no corn, no lime leaves, no olives, no eggs, no lettuce, and certainly no Asian ingredients. Please don't call it Moroccan couscous. I'm sure what you cooked isn't that bad, but it's 100% not Moroccan. The appropriate ingredients consist of 7 types of vegetables (pumpkin, zucchini, radish or kohlrabi, carrots, onions, chickpeas and sometimes cabbage. Because of the children they also like to add potatoes or sweet potatoes. Caramelized onions with raisins as a topping. The vegetables are very tasty cut large pieces, quartered or halved, never into very small pieces otherwise they will be mushy. The couscous is steamed over the stew. If you really want to learn how we make traditional couscous, you can find many recipes on youtoub. Please search traditional Moroccan couscous, not an imitation.
THIS IS NOT MOROCCAN COUSCOUS !!!!!!!! it’s a good recopie but don’t call it freaking Moroccan couscous 😢😢😢😢😢
This is not a Moroccan couscous!!!!!!
Sorry but this is not moroccan couscous
Horrible, very bland and week on the spices
First of all this is not couscous but shit !!!
