@GunsNerdsandSteel Drawbridges to a platform supported by pillars with no way for the zoms to get back up. But my favorite was Doraleus's "emergency fall back plan": Just a steel door surrounded by dirt lol
This is why zombies need massive fall damage. Doesn't make sense that the players get their legs broken jumping off a roof but zombies are all sponges no matter what.
They should definitely get injured with broken legs and amputations, but the devs hated that people used gravity for their horde bases so they added mechanics that made the game worse to stop players from having fun playing a game... 😒
@@GoodBoyGoneDad - It's not just about "stop players from having fun". The very name of the game is "7 days to die", so the horde night is SUPPOSED to be challenging. But if you can build a base that just makes zombies fall to their undeath with little effort, that sort of takes the challenge away. This is why so many "tactics" for AFK horde bases got "nerfed" by TFP. Now, with that said, I think any zombie that falls that far should suffer a leg dismemberment. Two such falls, they're restricted to crawling (like any zombie that loses both legs.) Especially since a fall from that height can outright kill a player.
Not to mention zombies all seemingly being ex engineers being able to calculate how best to tear down the supports for your base to cause a collapse, that's quite the smart brain parasites.
every episode ends with you saying thank you for watching....well I say, THANK YOU for creating and posting! I love watching these while i work overnights. it really helps the night go by faster and provides entertainment along the way, so THANKS!
The only difference I'd make to this base is to take out the outside center blocks and replace them with powered vault hatches, so you can control the lanes of traffic. I 'd put the generator in the floor and make a "window" on both walls, then reinforce the outside walls by one block. All that's left to do is put the switches in the newly made cubby holes and you're done. If that slight change was implemented, ten out of ten one day hoard base.💯
That was great. Earlier episode I had suggested a series where you have to hold out agains the horde in a different place every time and...well. Here you are! Great!
I get why zombies don't take a whole ton of fall damage, but bases like this really make me wish they took even like, 50% more fall damage. Or if there was a mod for certain weapons that would make them take more fall damage. Toss it on a stun baton and repulse them and make them take more fall damage.
My personal take on it is that any fall of greater than 15 blocks should remove 25% of their REMAINING health, more than 30 blocks 50% of remaining health, more than 45 blocks 75% of remaining health, and more than 60 blocks removes 99% of remaining health, but NEVER kills the zombie. They could have a single health point left, but falling would never kill them. A 60 block fall is like a 20 story building height. So yeah, it should seriously damage them. And armor doesn't protect from falling, but explosive resistance does.....and I don't believe zombies have any explosive resist.
@@omeromreomer - Setting up something like that wouldn't be terribly cheap. But sure. But its pretty easy NOW to set up something similar with a gauntlet of traps to run that will mow through zombies that fall (and can't avoid falling) when trying to reach you. It would simply make it more effective and last longer......and more realistic. TFP just wants to make horde nights challenging (since the very name of the game alludes to it) and eliminate the whole "AFK base" metas that already exist.
Great video! Me and some friends tried using a bridge between the forest and snow biomes for our day 7 and 14 hoard base. Day 14 the whole thing collapsed and we all died!
Very nice! I would consider removing the center poles from the bridge to the fighting position. I believe they will still attempt to get to you by jumping across, but you and your position will receive less damage as they can only swing once as they try to jump across. It would possibly be easier for you to manage especially if you're not repairing. Thanks for all your hard work.
Always fun to watch build ideas and gain a little more knowledge about zombie pathing and blocks. Definitely helps when I become the base architect in my playthroughs with my friends.
Brings me back to my alpha 16/17/18 days. This always was where I made my base, I would build the fighting base around where you do. And dig into the canyon to live in.
Good ideas, both the adventure through the land and building on the bridge. Nice use of Oshitz Drops. A couple of Health Bars would have served you well too. Thanks for sharing.
Great vid! I get that heights tingly electric thrill thing in my legs when I'm up high in 7 Days or any other game. It's like my leg bones are anticipating a fall and getting shattered.
That was fun! Great idea for turning that wrecked bridge into one very cool, extremely functional base! Not a fan of the tiny little fighting space, almost but not quite out of reach of the zombies on the opposite side, but it worked well regardless. Great job! 👍
Some improvements immediately is to only funnel them on one side and place sledge turrets so they get knocked off more consistently, preventing zombies from getting killed too fast so more don't just respawn.
I feel like he's experienced enough to know that one side would be easier to guard, but he probably wanted to make it dicier for more entertainment value.
I would have made the safety bars out of the scaffolding ladder with advanced rotation to look like bars. You can swing through it, it will help block spit, and you can use it to climb out of the cube. Also, dogs and wolves will be an issue with this build because they can not use a ladder (so they will destroy instead).
Try a chruch, its a good idea and also try to make it so the zombies have to get to you thrugh the tower, (expand the tower so you can put traps also gn its exactly 22:45)
Oh man, when you said you'd go for the smallest, i winced so hard. You can still build a movable area with triangles on it's flat side and then have pole plates on the center that way you have some wiggle room on the left and right. For the doors, I usually just use double poles top down, and they have no way to get through. Great concept overall.
That was fun I like the quick and dirty testing. looks like you got a new type of base deign too. If you did smaller blocks as the 45 degree block even more zombies would have fallen down.
21:05 You left ClaimBlock on one side. Afaik - zombies spawns outside of claim radius, so there much more space for them to spawn on one side, than another.
This base is why I always build my horde base high up in the air, it will be easier to crowd control the Horde and worry free from Zombie raging modes as well. That being said, I prefer high up than a pit, simply because I could enjoy the view up there when the sky rise. 🥰
I wonder why the tingly feeling in the feet and palms is a specific and universal thing for heights in humans? Maybe cause our ape ancestors used their hands and feet to go from tree to tree and that’s why the feeling is specifically there?
It was probably 6-7 years ago when i buile a hord base at that bridge. Once i got it upgraded to steel or rather reinforced steel back then the base survived with no issues.
Have you considered widening the fighting position by one block on each side? I don't think you'd risk having a collapse and you could sidestep the zombies, especially with cops trying to spit at you. Also maybe try the same v1 shapes with the top one having the bar on the bottom so there's something preventing the zombies from getting through
HORDE BASE HOHAHAH! Maybe next time you do a One Night Stand with the stun baton, you can bring a turret or 2 to back you up. Might be slight cheese, but with "no repairs" limit I think you can allow for a bit of cheese. Unless they stealth fixed the 'euthanization proc'ing off turrets' thing
Hey gns, got kinda a weird question about 1.0 release for console. Have you heard anything about being able to do mods for consoles? I understand that consoles would struggle, if at all play, for a mod like darkness falls but I'm talking about small mods like adding a couple new poi's or a couple new guns or something like that.
My last horde night had no vultures, either. Why do you keep shooting center mass? For that matter, why do you keep striking at the chin and throat? Have you given up on headshots, or is this a self-imposed challenge?
Which mod is that gun from? It looks awesome! Also, some Health Bars before the horde would’ve been smart for this base! Personally, I’d like to see you restore the bridge now that you’re done with it.
A healthy human with muscle and solid bones will break a leg or die from a fall but the zeds with mushy, rotting flesh and brittle bones have absolute 0 limb damage and survive massive drops like this. As this game progressed in years the mechanics seem to have become more and more ridiculous.
all what you build the Z will attack and kill, you kann make a 10 inch Wall np for Z. In my game, im at top of the hills and from the 64 fast every 40minu. Z come and find me 5-10 . I try all in water under water, high house, all was destroy by Z, but now, Z NOT ATTACK the Mountain and normal structure.
Giving me nostalgia for back when Neebs Gaming had a disaster at this bridge 😂
I remember that! I can't remember what the design was though 🤔
The design was... uh... unique. Let's go with "unique".

was gonna say the same thing.
I've been sky-diving and I still get a feeling like I'm free falling whenever I jump from heights like this in 7days. Love it!
All I can think about is that time neebs gaming made their horde base on this bridge... didn't go well. Lol
Yeah, but Neebs horde nights never go well.
I was thinking the same.
Is that not why you watch though?
@@rlsumrall oh it is. I love neebs gaming.
Noooo, it did not 😂
