You could always watch the stream in small bits. If I don't have time, I'll often just watch for a half hour or hour, then go back to the stream to continue watching later
@@Tom_Plays_Games I guess if you only have 30 minutes a day to watch UA-cam, then yeah. I can often watch more than once per day, so that's not really a problem for me.
Good video, used some of these POI's myself in my own playthroughs. For something like the old creepy church and the issue with zombies going into 'rage' mode because the drop is insufficient I tend to put down 'scratching posts' below the drop - just simply poles that they can whack on rather than the walls holding you up:)
I'm on day 13 just moved to the desert and am panicking thinking about my horde base so i decided to take a break and check out your video. Low and behold right across from my house is a judie witches, guess i just found my day 14 horde base! Your the man!
Also, in the future, don't worry too much about having a horde base. If you don't have time to make or modify a place to defend from the horde, just go to a structure that can easily outlast the horde and camp on its roof.
As always, really nice demonstrations with all of them. Thank you for taking the time to help the new players. I need to learn to convert POI's myself. I think I have built a dedicated hoard base every time I have played. Prebuilt would be shaking his head at me...
That Red Barn Bed and Bath POI is already set up to handle an early game horde just fine. Just had to complete the run from the barn over to the house window, knock out the house interior stairs and was good to go. Still straightened out their approach to the beam; gave them a flight of stairs from the second floor up to it; and let them make their own doorways into the barn; but it was fine in a pinch. Didn't look as cool as running a ramp around the silo, but function over form early game every time in my case. Form comes later and I prefer to keep them at arm's reach as opposed to the up close and personal fight windows others might prefer. :) The POIs in this game are amazing. Their new POI artist is a master of those voxel shapes. I've made a game of converting existing POIs, especially the newer, because they're so much more architecturally interesting than a box on stilts. :) Will have to get into designing my own eventually, but...the existing POIs are amazing.
I really appreciate the resource numbers for each base, even if Im not building exactly in that POI It gives me a solid number to strive for early game. Great video as always.
Oooo! I actually have a suggestion to make! In playing our joint game, my wife and I have found that the O'Really's Auto makes a great impromptu emergency horde base well into mid-game, that can be prepped in mere moments. There is a ladder on the outside leading to the roof. Knock out the bottom two sections to prevent zombie access, then go up top and kill the zombie that tends to spawn up there. On the same side of the roof as the external ladder, is a hatch in the roof, with a ladder to the inside. Open the hatch, then remove the top two sections of ladder, which will largely stop the zombies from getting up to you, while bringing their heads within easy melee range. You're basically done. If you have time and resources to do so, you can build a small fighting position at the hatch which can keep vultures off you, but otherwise they can just be killed when they show up with little trouble. Having a portable turret of some kind, or another person is ideal, but it works just fine solo, even with Direwolves and such coming in. The structure is concrete, steel and extensive. When the zombies get to the top of the now lowered ladder, they start trying to beat through steel, while you beat through their skulls. The Direwolves just stay below and do the same to little effect, while making easy targets from the top of the ladder. Even Demolition zombies can be defended against from this location solo. It's not easy at that point, but it's good to know it can be done in a pinch. If you need to buy yourself a moment to reload or repair a weapon and things threaten to get out of control, simply shut the hatch to obtain the time you need.
Awesome video. I'm starting my own trader less run because of you. But I'm keeping loot at %100 as I'm not as much of a masochist lol. Hope for the continued success on twitch for you!

its always a good idea to reinforce any loadbearing columns directly beneath your horde fighting position! Last thing you want is a collapse with a 100 zombies beneath you :P
These are fun designs for a temp horde base. I have to admit, im not a personal fan of making a temp horde base. I prefer to make a horde base that can be upgraded over time and added on. So a basic base for the first week, but by the time the rads show up, you have added on all the bells and whistles needed to take down anything. You arent stuck reinforcing a silo hoping its enough to tank any demo blasts or whatever. That said, for a new player who probably wont be getting that far, these are great ideas for simple setups for the first few weeks. By the time they ARE getting that far they will have enough experience to figure out how to make their own long term base.
Funny, every base is long term... By the time you hit day 21 you still face normal zombies during horde night and you already have infinite amount of bullets and OP gun.

I think they use the scaffolding ladder to allow melee fights while also blocking cop vomit. Also, if you rotate the ladder to its side, they can't climb up it.

I cant stop thinking of pools after seeing your X base, I just dont know if it will work with one layer of water (I'm 5 hours from the first horde)... maybe try building a pool for the next (than only digging a pit)... also, that loot stage controll, thinking about doing a base on the intersection of biomes.
Me and a friend have a world and on our first horde we had Dire Wolves, second horde Cops, I dread to think what’s to come on our 3rd horde! Oh just to add we are in the pine forest so can’t wait for the increase in difficulty if we move biomes!
I have an issue with your NoTraders Map. no height information found or something like that. Maybe can you make a video for how to import a generted map? Thx
The church base I tested is either terrible, or at the time playing the zombies were dumber in path, but I saw nothing on why they wouldn't use the ladder way and flanked me on the left swarming me on the front? I even closed off the door, which wasn't done in this video.
I started a new solo world with 1.0 and had dire wolves, dogs, cops and vultures all on the first blood moon. Not sure what my game stage was but had only made it to lvl 18 and my main weapon was still a pipe baton. As you can guess it didn’t go well.
Game stage 40 for both dogs and hellhounds, 44 for vulture. I had to turn my game on to see what ours is. My friends and I just started playing a day and a half ago. I don't know if the game is based off all of the game stages or just me hosting but the highest was 23 and we've seen all 3 of those on Day 14. I'm looking for all the help because we couldn't defend against 3 hounds.
I just love this. I've got (much) more than a thousand hours in this game, and I still learn from other players. Normally we are all lazy (efficient) in that we find something that works and stick with it. So it's good to see new ideas. The silos at 8:02 are IMO the best (strongest) horde base location. I've built many different styles of bases there.
At 2:14 you start modifying the water tower. The one you chose is built differently than the other 2 you pointed out. Your modifications will not work on the other water towers as described.
Made the mistake of speedrunning trader rekt missions and basing near trader jen in burnt forest on day 5💀.I hadn't played in a while. Good loot though. You should make a guide on basing in wastelands, it's absolutely hellish out there.
Basing in more difficult biomes requires the same strategies, but with more effort into them. Your base likely will need to be made of stronger materials, and you need to make sure it is prepared for the tougher zombies that will spawn sooner.
I feel the snow is more difficult than the wastelands because there's more fast animals. The wastelands is only worse if you're traveling in the wilderness due to land mines. Enemies in the wasteland are worse for combat... but you can outrun most of them. Also when it's snowing and fog within the snow the visibility is almost nothing.

Dire Wolves are my worst nightmares, I can't believe they only require a gamestage of 40 but vultures, cops, and ferals need a higher level. Hell, dude, I'd honestly take rads zombies over dire wolves too to be entirely honest
As I commented on the last vid, Direwolves especially feel too low-tier for how they specifically function among the zombies and when they start showing up in gamestage, and they're the biggest pain when it comes to horde base design because of how itchy their trigger is to start rage mode it feels like.

I used iron bars that explains why I can’t open and close the door. Thank you for the tips from a console player.
ty----??? do u know when undead legacy will be coming for 1.0??? and the other top mods?? should do a video on the subject.. thanks
Great, easy bases!
Great ideas.
I think I'd like to see some super Direwolf Friendly designs so I definitely don't lose any of those sweet Loot Bags they're guaranteed to drop.
Are you going to be uploading video series again at all, or is it just live streams now?
I recommend the 0.025m round pole instead of the square one. That makes them fall off much more 😊
Can’t wait for the next one about how to defend against cops and demos
Would be helpful if you could show us on the map where you found these locations
Thanks 😁👍
How do you access stability mode?
Do the cities not spawn in the pine forest biome?
How do you turn on stability mode?
If I am playing with a friend and we are allied, can I have my own claim block and my own base?
@frozenburst6463 no kidding, direwolves and cops started spawning on the first horde night.
@@danielchin4198 Lower the XP setting before the game starts... this will prevent dire wolves and cops on the first horde night. *My gameplay settings:*
Difficulty: Survivalist
24 Hour Cycle: 120 mins
=======================
Blood Moon Count: 64
Zombie Day Speed: Jog
=======================
Loot Abundance: 75%
Loot Respawn Time: Disabled
Death Penalty: Permanent
Drop on Death: Delete All
=======================
Party Shared Kill Range: Disabled
----------------------------------------------------------------
All the rest are default settings
I am playing this on Ps5 haven't ran onto this farm yet. Wonder if it is.
Can you make some Darkness Falls base design too? :)
the ole billboard base is ideal cause you can be 12 blocks high to avoid zombies entering rage mode destroying the base below
very good bases but the question is is it useful for any difficulty?
Dont forget Cops can spit through railings so when cops show up you take quite a bit of unnecessary damage
Replace them with scaffolding ladders to block the spit. Tilt them on their side so nothing can climb up them.
Temcam got four kills. Good on em
THE UNDEAD
Dire Wolves are my worst nightmares, I can't believe they only require a gamestage of 40 but vultures, cops, and ferals need a higher level. Hell, dude, I'd honestly take rads zombies over dire wolves too to be entirely honest
i cant find the bed n bath :( anyone know the coordinates?
As I commented on the last vid, Direwolves especially feel too low-tier for how they specifically function among the zombies and when they start showing up in gamestage, and they're the biggest pain when it comes to horde base design because of how itchy their trigger is to start rage mode it feels like.
yeo so i do this same way as you but the ramp keeps breaking.
