I noticed there was no reaction of the filtrate of X with the bench reagents so i feel we dissolve the salt in Dilute HCl to produce C02. This solution will now be used to test for zinc ion. My opinion tho'
Pls your approach is not correct. Dissolve the salt in an acid. not water. There is no way you can have zn in the solution when it does not dissolve at all in distilled water. Pls check your facts again.
