Pity, he could have a massive potential to be supermans rival and a superhero just like goku and vegeta been rivals. But the producer decided to take this character out of the picture.
Nuclear Man is totally awesome villain back in the day! DC Comics ought to bring him back again! Thank you for posting here, Guy! Take care and Be safe! Enjoy the week!
I remember seeing Nuclear Man fight Sup's as a child. Hammer fisting him into the Moon's surface. 😅 That fight was epic to me back then. Im glad they brought him back.
Someone at Marvel used Nuclear Man as inspiration for Sentry, including the color scheme; turn Nuclear Man symbol on its side, and you have a version of Sentry S
@@holdthetruthhostage idk y but I really like the character and the idea behind him. The whole needing to be in sunlight thing is a bit much but other than that I think he’s great. Mark pillow was really intimidating. Did a great job. Very underrated.
If he wasnt a crazy villian, he could be a powerful support member for the super family since he is a literal walking solar sun thus powering all kryptonians.
Fun Fact: Did you know that Superman himself Christopher Reeve was Part of the Creator's of Nuclear Man, Mostly due to Mr. Reeve's Involvement in Writing the Script of Superman 4: The Quest for Peace!!!
The comic book version of Nuclear Man is hella cool. The DC animated universe has some awesome films and I’d like to see Nuclear Man make an appearance after seeing this fantastic video!
From what I remember from (SUPERMAN 4: THE QUEST FOR PEACE) movie, Nuclear-Man, had been made with both SuperMan’s DNA, and that of Lex Luthor’s DNA, and those two DNA samples were placed inside a Nuclear Weapon. I also remember NuclearMan has metal Finger-Nails claws on both hands.
By that note, Nuclear Man should also be able to drain Superman since he to is powered by the Sun. But it doesn't work like that anyways, they absorbed the rays from the Sun but when they blast it out it takes on a different density. I don't know the proper word for it. Like how Superman gets hurt when say Supergirl or Zod hits him with their heat vision, and vice versa. You'd think they'd just absorb it, but nope, they hurt each other. There was this run where Superman flew into the Sun, and he was exposed to all that raw solar radiation. Well Superman did get crazy more powerful, but he also was poisoned from it and was dying. Its kinda like that, just with mix of raw solar radiation and nuclear radiation. So say if Superman hung around him all day and did/could absorb it. He would be getting just the toxic exposure without the crazy boost.
He’s also nuclear fueled , nuclear radiation would replace the solar radiation in him making him weak or not affect him at all , maybe just gives him a bad taste in his mouth or something.
Hey Sage, Nuclear man is just a renamed Atom man, from it was mostly just a radio show, since the Atom became a semi popular character by the time the 70's rolled around, the atom man originally created was a man given kryptonian like powers by nazis injecting a man with tampered kryptonite, which also makes him the precursor to Ultraman from the earth 3. Later (1950s) Lex decided to reuse the name and disguise himself as another "Atom man"
Isn't everyone supposed to be intangible inside the phantom zone? How were they able to battle each other? I literally stopped buying comix when this story came out. The end of ReBirth was a good jumping off point.
Different writers changed it up, but I think someone storied it as the Phantom King did something to it? Either way, you can't die in the Phantom Zone. Unless they changed that too?
I believe in the movies just like in the comics and TV show kryptonite hurts Superman, as well as some types of radiation close to it that nuclear man can make a close enough radiation of kryptonite to affect an age Superman with contact of him, scraping him with his claws. What they don’t talk about that anymore in comics is that last crystal that saved Superman that I believe is Kryptonium a piece of Superman’s planet that helps him heal. Comics, TV Shows, animated, cartoons and movies should make Superman more susceptible to different types of radiation that are close to kryptonite if not most or all radiation and magic. This would make Superman seem not that overpowered and a little bit more of a character that you feel worried about dying. Also, you could have superman and others, find some of the rare Kryptonium to heal him from his weaken condition if people did infect him with radiation poisoning or magic. I don’t think they use that enough.
I really liked the concept of Nuclear man. Very powerful, even more so than Clark. That weakness of the requiring the sun's presence was a major flaw. Still they could do like a Nuclear Man 2.0, upgraded with nanobots...able to absorb an almost infinite amount of solar or kryptonite energy . Capable of self replication. Just ideas. SUPERMAN whole giving up to be a farmer from crisis on infinite earth's...this is where Lex comes in as the hero. Using his wealth of knowledge to create a new Nuclear man, Superior Man whatever.
Nuclear Man is actually stronger than Superman however there is a trade-off. Nuclear Man loses his power and pretty much faints or goes to sleep the second the Yellow sun or maybe light is not hitting him. I often thought it would be interesting if they did a second run where Lex Luther put a battery that created the type of light shining down on him as a backpack or maybe did like a solar panel or a battery where it would collect the sun and give Nuclear Man more time to be able to fight Superman in the dark or away from sun or light ? But then Superman would somehow destroy the device. I think that would be interesting to see something like that.
What do you think is the best thing about DC Nuclear-Man in the comics compared to Rogol Zaar? Which one of his powers and abilities do you think is the best?
This is the DC movie we needed when Henry Cavil was Superman. It's really sad and frustrating how these film directors don't make the right choices when making these comic films.
Holy crap nuclear man was basically the first Superboy because Superboy from Young Justice was created by Lex Luthor 2 using Superman's DNA and his as well as another alien's DNA 💯🤔🤔🤔0:59
For me, I go the movie. The movie comic does gives us more of his powers and the weakness isn't as bad, but seeing him live is awesome. His 2 other comic appearances were sadly too short, as was his appearance Teen Titans Go! (but that one was more for laughs).
A lot of people didn’t like Superman for because it got two edited and didn’t make sense. I agree on the movie however I always thought nuclear man was an interesting character a lot better than Richard Pryor Superman 3 Cigarette-Tar-kryptonite dark copy of himself even though I thought it was cool how they did it with just changing the one ingredient that they didn’t know was in it. One other thing I didn’t like about nuclear man as it seemed he had a cold breath. I would change that maybe into just a steam or hot air breath that would be just as strong. but yes, I think they should use Nuclear Man he was very interesting character how Lex Luther made him by sending Superman‘s DNA and a mixture of other things into the Sun to make him.
Nuclear Man's concept is not that bad. What is bad is how he was portrayed and developed in the movie. He is actually similar to the Atomic Skull, another Superman's rogue, in terms of powerset. And speaking of him, you should do a video about The Atomic Skull, Sage. Thanks again. The grace of God stays with you.
in the comics mainly that issue was he still a villain tho? i mean he was wearing the house of El emblem on his cape, i took that all the kryptonians had to work together in that story line.
Yeeeeeees this was my guy, Superman does his thing but nuclear man was the ultimate alpha in my eyes. He was the first Shazam and the first ultra man to me. He gets a 10 thanks for this video and the memories mate 💪👍💪
Love Nuclear Man, the only villain movie and tv-wise to not only beat Supes two, but did it solo each time. The first he was just playing and he nearly killed Supes, the second he buried Supes in the Moon. He has shown to be as strong, but not by a great deal or Supes wouldn't have been able to hold him off. He is faster cause Supes has a hard time keeping up with him while they were flying around the Earth. He has all the powers of Supes, but more in energy manipulation like generating enough heat he can molt the ground just by walking on it. He can emit energy blasts in the for of electricity, send was wave of energy that made cars and people rewind backwards. A for of gravity manipulation in the form of blue energy that allowed him to levitate, in a controlled manor. He as those razer sharp claws that can cut into Supes and poison him, which if Supes didn't have that crystal he'd be dead. In the cuts scenes and comics that uses those scene and stuff in the script that was never used. He could manipulate the weather, molecule manipulation, magnetism, size manipulation and telekinesis. It a shame they gave him a weakness like that, but if we think about it, without that weakness Supes would have never been able to beat him. He isn't affected by radiation, unless its directly from the Sun. Still, in the movie his seen walking around in building with no direct sunlight, diving into a volcano, but turn the lights off in the elevator or walk into a shadow and his down? Kinda inconsistent if you ask me. But in the movie comic it not that bad, and it had to be total darkness. His also no dumb, I mean his smarter then Lenny, Non and Doomsday. Yes he is a savage and is seen saying "Kill Superman". But as we've seen in the Movie, more so in the comic, he is clever. Just look at the things he did to trick Supes and mess with him. And how he talked to Lex about him being the "Father Now" and talking about what Lex fears. Hell, he planned to takeover the second he got there. But Lex showed him that he knows his weakness and can drop him in a blink. Is he as smart as Supes, no but his not far off. That and remember he was born yesterday lol How Supes figured his weakness out to fast felt off to me. I mean they both draw their powers from the Sun. I think they should have done something like Supes notices his not out at night or something like that. Also Nuclear Man is the second one Lex made, the first was more of a Bizarro type that died pretty fast. He was made officially canon in 2018's Superman #2, though this one was different in that it wasn't a direct clone of Supes. Its never revealed how this Nuclear Man ened up in the Phantom Zone. But going by Zaar's comment, and the fact that it was only when Krypton was still around that they used the PZ to put "stuff" in. This Nuclear Man was possibly created by Supes father (going by the cape), or an ancestor of his. And being in the PZ for a really long time, possibly one of the first. This Nuclear Man was able to move around without the Sun, cause there is no Sun or anything similar for him to draw from in PZ. I'm thinking either total darkness to drop him, or he can store up the energy and uses/spends it to keep moving. But either way, he looked sick to me and why I think Zaar was able to "kill" him. Though its the Phantom Zone, nobody can actually die there, and I think exposure to the Sun will regenerate him. Not only did Nuclear Man make is official DC appearance, but he also appeared in the Arrowverse comics (which I heard was canon to the shows?). And he appeared briefly on Teen Titans Go! The episode where the JL was looking for new members and had heroes addition. I doubt he was a hero, but it was a funny moment to see. He also recently appeared on a variant cover of Superman '78: The Metal Curtain #6. I would love for him to come back in a huge way as the big bad. Not working for nobody, just wanting to kill all Kryptonians, and specially House of El family for putting him in the Phantom Zone. Love New Sage's 8/10, and the video man. Me I go 10/10
They should bring him back but more aware of his limitations Superman needs more villains that can actually challenge or defeat him to make his stories more interesting and if they put as much effort in Superman 3-4 as they did 1-2 it would have saved the original film series.
I think there are already to many characters as strong as superman. I like bizaro we don't need 50 evil clones or keyptiones. Jimmy Olson gets sick joker will tell superman what is wrong if he does him a favour
@@daraghokane4236 Superman needs Villains Lex as a rival is Ok but think his arch nemesis should be Zod and Batman Villains would have Superman breaking his no kill rule quick .
Agree. Nuclear Man was a beast, and life action-wise and possibly comics is the only villain to not only beat Supes but did it twice solo. The first time he was only laying with Supes and nearly killed him (if it wasn't for that crystal Supes would be), and the second he buried him in the Moon. Not Doomsday, Bizarro, Zaar, Zod, Cyborg Superman, or Mongul can make that claim. And the only way Supes could beat Nuclear Man was by blocking out the Sun.

Jimmy Olson gets sick joker will tell superman what is wrong if he does him a favour
Nuclear man was already a replacement for bizaro I'm guessing they thought bizaro was offensive as he is disabled and deformed.
So Nuclear man may be considered a Bizzaro variant?
The Kryptonian with claws that beat superman in the movies
When he get to comics?
