      In this video, both techniques are correct, but wave one is more advanced. From his point of view, as you make sure to raise your elbow, your arm is positioned correctly to transfer power from your arm to your forearm. The difference between these two techniques is that the first one, called “frame” in Chinese, requires more time to reset your form to the “frame” position before hitting. Additionally, holding this position may put more strain on your shoulder.
      On the other hand, the second technique can also be considered a “frame,” but it feels more flexible. This flexibility minimizes time and strain loss.
      I can’t tell you which technique is better for you. More flexibility means less stability, which can be challenging for beginners. Less stability might make it harder to hit the ball with the sweet spot of your racket, resulting in lower-quality returns and putting you in a passive position.
      Don’t get me wrong, I’m not convinced one technique is better than the other. The best way to frame depends on how long and how well you play badminton.
