Later this year Day of Dragons will be releasing it's biggest update ever; All new custom dragons and it's new Mega map on UE5. We were invited with a group of creators to have a first look at a very old UE5 Build with a new dragon, This was just a preview that did not have all the functionality of their current development build and it was just to give us barely a taste of what's coming. Overall i had a great time, The devs were polite to us and trying some of the new features turned out much better than i anticipated. I would have liked to see a little more effort put into the build we did get but it would be pointless to spend a lot of time on something that we used for a couple hours and didn't represent a final product at all. Over all i am excited to see what happens with DoD when they finally publish the new content they have worked on!
the game looks amazing from what it was years ago and it seems there dev team has imrpoved too that they are being more polite (probbaly because of the backlash from everything) either way im glad that the game has improved maybe when its full released i may think about rebuying it (use to own it in the past but refunded it due to the issues around it)
Yes that was a baby sandslayer, and the first scar that will appear on a FS is on that shoulder so yes that was a scar. 11:01 needs to be a sound bit for your channel
The new dragons are absolutely gorgeous, and I love that they're a more peace-based dragon. Their speed, looks, and peacefulness makes them the perfect dragon for me!
@@chicoziebirb5139 there was a big debacle over the game because it raised a ton of money for the kickstarter, only for the game to have nothing but bought assets and pretty much nothing to the game, not even any custom coding, save for like 4 lines of it or something along those lines. you can just search "day of dragons drama" to find out more, but I do still agree with the main comment.

Play it, it has nothing than a big empty map with poor ai around. You will get bored in less than 2 hours of gameplay. I played some very early access games in their first year and had MAAAAAANY more things than this game in.... what? 7 years? Pfffff. Even the isle and beast of bermuda AND path of titans did more things in less or almost the same time, come on.
for me its going to take a lot to convince me that this game really has potential but im keeping in touch with the game in hopes maybe one day it will be what we hoped

A cool feature would be that if you breathed fire inside the mouth (assuming the mouth isn't plated with armor) you could do extra critical damage Like how the outside of it's body is heavily armored and covered with scaly plates The inside is soft and vulnerable So by raining fire in it's mouth you could critically injure it
the map was always such a big thing for me, i hated it so much but having a look at this place holder map/or whatever, really makes me happy and makes me think theres a good future for this game. Waiting for the isle's updates is one thing, but this just brings me a lot more hope this year. Can't wait to see all my fave games progress!

Maybe this is a thing and it just doesn't exist in this dev pack, but something I always love in my dragon games is the ability to make your dragons more unique even if that just means changing the colors of the dragons not necessary every other attribute, I wonder if that will be an option?
A new breeding system in coming to 1.0. while there will still be skins each of them will open up colour swatches so that when you breed players can customize their dragons with the colours their parents and grandparents have, like white and red giving you shades of pink. There will also be patterns that the dragons can inherit and pick from.
I couldn't stop thinking about the sand moving with wind in some of the shots. What are thoses details. Plus I really like the appeal of a large empty desert in a simulation game because you can really bring stuff like looking at the sun and the stars as actual features to tell where you are.
You must remember one thing about the graphics. Right now it is on unreal engine 5.0, they plan on releasing the update on unreal engine 5.1, therefore the graphics will be even better than they were in the test server. Also I can't wait untill the new update has come out as it will be so much fun to play. Plus the map is absolutely huge. And, did you know that the desert you were in was the original map that we played on before the map we are playing on right now came out.
I actually really appreciate videos like these. They give positive feedback to the creators and reinforce their work ethic so they continue to create the game as best as they can.
Excellent video. Love seeing what's coming and just how well its coming along. The lighting is awesome. But I think I enjoyed listening to how much fun you all were having more. ;)
personally i am still iffy about this one based on what the devs did in the past. that being said however, things change and so do people. i still remember the interview with the main dev at the time. very toxic. very concerning. i just hope that whatever that person was going through they had help for it. also i do hope this game does well but it will, for the time being, be a hard pass for me until i see significant changes to both the development team itself and with what is in this game.

The only dlc dragon so far is the acid spitter one, but from hearing people talk about pledge/kickstarter/patreon promised dragons, are there going to be any more dragons that will be available for purchase? From the looks of it, most of the playable/coming dragons seem to be locked behind some kind of donation pay wall, making people who didn't have the chance to donate stuck with like 2 characters?? I really hope at some point they make these other dragons purchasable by everyone, so we have a chance to play as them too
@@BelgianWaffle6791 There's only planned to be 3 DLC dragons, the Acid Spitter, the Blitz Striker, and the Behemoth Fire Drake. All the kickstarter dragons, barring the Biolumin, can be unlocked by non-backers per-server. The dravern hybrid is per-life as well. Everything else will be free to play
Certain individuals with sincere passion may have saved this game from burning. But the question is: Will it be enough to recover from the crash of early PR drama, blatant consumer mistreatment, and the negativity that was centered around all things DoD? Can it redeem itself enough to be another 'No Man's Sky' story? I'm not going to hold my breath, but commend everyone who is putting their passion into something that SHOULD have been great sooner than later. As someone who put 1000's of hours into The Isle, but like The Isle, I don't personally have time to wait for all the promises to be fulfilled. Hopefully those who have decided to include themselves in the DoD community bring themselves to respect those who have their concerns and criticisms of the game. Of course only as long as those concerns and criticisms are done professionally and with equal respect. Just have fun gaming, enjoying the games that you play, while understanding that not everyone is going to feel the same way you do about the dev team or the game as a whole.

The kids and kids at heart are going to love the bio's,they're so cute. This game is quickly looking like it might redeem itself like no man's sky. I really hope it does,I so dreamed of playing games like this.
I can think of three or four attacks to add to his arsenal. First is rock throw. While it is dodgeable, rock itself is quite big and deals massive damage. Rock can be targeted and destroyed by some dragons. Second is bile launch. Only adults slayers are capable of this. Slayer randomly spits out 1-3 highly accurate acidic balls that deal low damage upon impact and mediocre damage for some time. Third is swipe. When surrounded, Slayer violently swipe the area with his upper body. That will force dragons who got to close to step back. Damage scales when it is an adult Slayer. Last one is a seismic trap. Well I assume that juvenile slayers will get a decrease in health and armor stat and may spawn up to 3 in a time. Since it is juvenile, there should be no way of him taking on a bunch of elders. His priority targets would be adults dragon. Seismic trap slows down dragons and pulls them towards other slayers. While doing this, Slayer won't be able to attack or be attacked. With adult slayer effects are doubled and you will receive damage. 10% of your max health if you decide to tank it Again, this is all my thoughts on him and since I am not a developer this could be an intended way m.
This gives me hope of there on day being bossfights that are kinda like ARK's. You and your homies roll up and take it on together. Don't think this has been done with playable dragons yet, so that makes me all the more hyped!

Amazing, is the bio dragon going to get a bite please I know it's not a hunter but can it fight off attackers? The creatures in the cave looked great and I never saw those before. I think having caves and creatures in the caves sounds great/possible scary. Looking forward to this and for me I think it was patch 1.2 with the fish and the nurse dragon getting added.
I check up on this game every now and then after backing it on KS and I will say some of the features are looking good but is there going to be actual... content? Aside from running around and killing things - will there be quests, or missions? Crafting? Classes? Achievements? Levels? Or is it still just "grow up and kill things, or each other... but now it's prettier with more animations?" I am not trying to sound like a jerk, I just keep seeing the e-mail updates which include more and more animations or visual improvements but doesn't seem to include much on game play.
I have just learned of a new cursed word that have burned my eyes and brain since yesterday. Scalies. The Scalies are gonna flock to this game when there's a sudden rise of popularity, and probably are already in it getting inspiration.

This sand worm is amazing. Great graphics and animation. If I may try to give some helpful advice on defeating this worm. Instead of attacking the body to kill it which seems to be heavily armored, try aiming for the mouth since that may be the weakest point of the worm. Referenced from HTTYD when Toothless shot a little fireball in the mouth of the little dragon.

Imo dragons should have buffs and debuffs because otherwise the Boss fights are just gonna be long, boring and repetitive. The gameplay would feel better if raids have different kind of dragons that like, cute poison, heal, clear debuffs caused by the Boss, etc. otherwise the gameplay will just be “pick strongest dragon, spam attack and be patient because the Bosses will be difficult just because they have high HP and nothing else”
The Acid spitter (the wolf like drake) is already able to apply an armour debuff with it's acidic bite - very useful against high armour enemies. The Blitz striker will be able to apply stuns.
The only assets that are purchased are the environmental ones such as trees and rocks, the dragons and map layout are all custom Edit: Forgot to mention, the desert map in the video is only being used for testing purposes, it won't be in the official game
@@xenomorphoverlord some of the AI are bought too from someone who was selling them on ArtStation I believe. Unlike being assets from a storefront these were sold with the license meaning NO ONE else could buy or use the asset essentially making it the property of the buyer. Please take this with a pinch of salt as this is what I can remember from years ago.

What if there could be new dragons over the years added to DoD that live in jungles and (possibly) have wings but could only glide well with them, and have a better advantage of some kind in jungles and forests than other dragons and they could climb trees so that they can be less vulnerable to land predators?! Oh my god I have so much ideas for this game that would never be used anyways… BUT I LOVE TO IMAGINE! :)

The private sandslayer animations are so smooth! Can’t wait to pick up the fully released game and fight it with some dragon friends!

No damage abilities at all, it's defence is its speed and the fact that it is toxic to other dragons.

@@splitdragon3004 Nope. That's something that the community has surggested for the Bio but not something the Bio is currently planned to do.
I check up on this game every now and then after backing it on KS and I will say some of the features are looking good but is there going to be actual... content? Aside from running around and killing things - will there be quests, or missions? Crafting? Classes? Achievements? Levels? Or is it still just "grow up and kill things, or each other... but now it's prettier with more animations?" I am not trying to sound like a jerk, I just keep seeing the e-mail updates which include more and more animations or visual improvements but doesn't seem to include much on game play.
I plan on getting this game as soon as this update comes out

@@Poetry_i Furries (or Scalies which is a sub-category of Furries, still in the same community tho) have an outside reputation of being incredibly sexual freaks, however not every furry is like that. Normal people are freaks too anyway so idk why people cry and wish death on other people who just like and find escapism on pretending to be anthropomorphisized animals.
This sand worm is amazing. Great graphics and animation.
If I may try to give some helpful advice on defeating this worm. Instead of attacking the body to kill it which seems to be heavily armored, try aiming for the mouth since that may be the weakest point of the worm. Referenced from HTTYD when Toothless shot a little fireball in the mouth of the little dragon.

I feel like the Bio dragons are missing some texture. Are they gonna add texture to them? Like scales and stuff?
Imo dragons should have buffs and debuffs because otherwise the Boss fights are just gonna be long, boring and repetitive. The gameplay would feel better if raids have different kind of dragons that like, cute poison, heal, clear debuffs caused by the Boss, etc. otherwise the gameplay will just be “pick strongest dragon, spam attack and be patient because the Bosses will be difficult just because they have high HP and nothing else”
Dragons geared towards aiding raids are planned, like the Singe Crest healer wyvern
The Acid spitter (the wolf like drake) is already able to apply an armour debuff with it's acidic bite - very useful against high armour enemies.
The Blitz striker will be able to apply stuns.

The bio has no form of attack. Eating it gives you the toxic dot.
Are any of these assets actually created by the developers? Or are they just purchased assets again?
Funny of you to think the devs would change their ways after already ripping off premade assets.
The only assets that are purchased are the environmental ones such as trees and rocks, the dragons and map layout are all custom
Edit: Forgot to mention, the desert map in the video is only being used for testing purposes, it won't be in the official game
@@xenomorphoverlord some of the AI are bought too from someone who was selling them on ArtStation I believe. Unlike being assets from a storefront these were sold with the license meaning NO ONE else could buy or use the asset essentially making it the property of the buyer.
Please take this with a pinch of salt as this is what I can remember from years ago.

I remember it when day of dragons was just a kickstarter ( has it been 5 years??) and it was my first time buying a game through a kick starter... and I never got the game :') and no matter who I asked for help, I would be ignored. So sure, it looks great. But I already paid for this game so not going to pay again.

What if there could be new dragons over the years added to DoD that live in jungles and (possibly) have wings but could only glide well with them, and have a better advantage of some kind in jungles and forests than other dragons and they could climb trees so that they can be less vulnerable to land predators?!

I’m still expecting a lot more from a game with a budget of over $500,000.
He announced he bought a horse. Asking for 12k initially because he was struggling to fund his game, to him then buying an expensive animal? The 50k spent on music before the game had basic models didn't help much.
@@cfowler7936 damn bought a horse?? They are extremely expensive to maintain, I would know because I've owned 3. He should have put most of that money back into the game like a God dev jfc. The devs of phasmophobia made bank, and put almost all of the proceeds back into the game itself, which is why is looks, plays and feels sooo much better then when it first came out, which has only been out for like 1 or 2 years? I love DOD but man, it needs a lot more attention, love and that money being put into it. Not buying expensive ass animals and shite. Wtf is he even doing?
