Your Laundry room videos were some of my favorites. So much aging and detailing. It looked lovely. A lot of doll furniture and furnishing looks to clean and nice. The dollhouse doesn't look lived in if you do that way. Your distressing techniques are inspired.

Thank you so much Patricia! My Original Dollhouse is very neat new and orderly looking. That's was the appeal for me doing an OLD Rooming House because i felt could really play with aging techniques and allow things to look well worn and add years of use by lots of people. That is a WHOLE LOOK in itself! It literally gives the feeling that tiny people live there! PLUS it's so much fun to imagine what happened to create the wear! It's a little scary at 1st so do something small or simple to break yourself in. Or get a kit and "kit bash" it a little bit with the finishes! Let me know how it goes.

I love that you revisited things you've completed with a fresh eye and made some changes. When people make minis, there's this self-imposed pressure to make it all just right. In reality, you can make something good enough and move on. You can always change it later. There's no need to feel stressed over making minis. I've seen Bentley House Minis do this too. She'll use a piece she's not crazy about as a placeholder and maybe swap it out later.
That shawl on the dresser was a great touch bc it broke up all the straight lines and made the dresser look more realistic.

Thank you! I truly believe a Dollhouse is never done, to me complete is a myth. There will always be things to improve or replace update etc. Also the placeholder concept is so real. Even in my Life size world. I'll use a temporary item to be a place holder until i find what i want. Thank you about the shawl. I had been wanting use that little piece of fabric a while, it finally came in handy!

I just love love love the details. I love your laundry room and the laundry chute and the gorgeous bedroom. When a dollhouse is put together with things that make sense (like the position of the laundry chute doors between the bathroom and laundry room) it's just so satisfying. Thank you!

You have to try another way. it forces you to think and consider new ways to try. Yes I totally LOVE the Details! I always think of details tell a story in themselves. You can gather alot of information about a person by what's in their house or rooms! So Try to tell the story by the details! Thank you for being here!!!

I love the additions and updates to the laundry room. It’s all so incredibly realistic!
Growing up, we had a laundry room door that resulted in our laundry going down the shoot to the basement, where our family’s washer was located. It was “magical” when we were young and would always drop non- clothing things down the shoot and then race to the basement to retrieve them! My sister and I also loved to use the laundry shoot to play “restaurant”! One of us would “take the order upstairs” on a piece of paper and then drop that “order ticket” down the shoot. The “cook” in the basement would then “prepare the tray” and bring it upstairs “to be served!” My sister and I spent HOURS playing as such! Simple fun times!
Our mom was aghast when, as adults, we finally told her that we had actually put my younger brother down the shoot once! Yes, he landed safely on a huge pile of blankets we has stacked in the basket to catch him! He small for his age, so he was the only one of us 4 kids who could fit inside the shoots d not risk getting stuck on the way down! I am amazed none of us ever spilled the beans as kids! Only when we had all reached adulthood did we tell our mom of that laundry shoot adventure! You can imagine her reaction! Haha!
Great video, as always, Gretchen! Mondays and Wednesday nights … always the best, knowing your videos are out! Hugs, Kathleen

The laundry room is probably my favorite room in the rooming house. ali just love everything about it, including the rough ceiling. So comforting 😌 The dresser is a beautiful piece of furniture and so perfectly accessorized. The wallet and the shawl, the gloves. I just heard someone else say "Pre K" and its pre kindergarten I think? As that kinda covers a lot of my furniture making efforts, I am really pleased with myself sussing that one out, we tend to call them pre school nurseries here in the UK, or at least they did when my kids were little lol!
