But the older, superior brain regions that "control you", e.g. dominate over planning decisions made by your cortex - which shrinks further as you become addicted to technology - aren't going anywhere.
Actually, you’re quite wrong. Modern technology is designed to make money. They make money by stimulating the limbic system and primitive part of the brain. Watch Elon musk talk about it and AI to Joe Rogan. And THATS 5 years ago, it’s clear where this is heading.
Best video I've seen out of all "productivity" iPhone videos by far. Simple and straightforward. Gave me some great ideas. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Since graduating at UW, I am still a loyal Blackberry user. With the disconnect of the Blackberry server, I am still able to use the Blackberry Passport. It has no social media, no games, and no addition apps other than the default that originally came with. A year N half later after the disconnect, I continue to use it for calls, SMS text, emails, contacts, notes, and calendar. Basically, it’s just productivity. I recently bought an Android device but still haven’t really set it up yet. There are just too many things going on that device and I don’t want to get lost into a sea of apps and time consuming of looking onto a glass screen. I like the hard keyboard and minimalism of the Blackberry devices. 🙂
Im 15 when I was 6 my uncle gave me his old blackbeeey it was sooo good! I loved it. It’s still there in my native. Now I’m an IOS user. Kinda miss that black berry 😢
Awesome sharing, I definitely underutilize my iPhone features for working mode. Good to see other people showing their setups from time to time. Other than using an app for writing daily “journal”before bedtime, I don’t have anything else specific to share yet, maybe in the future. Thanks Tim!
Journalling is one of those things that help me so much when I do it, but I always fall off the wagon over time. Need to get back on it. Thanks for the reminder :)
wow looks like the perfect setup! its a bit hard for me since i work w social media but the “alarm to sleep instead of alarm to wake up” thing is something i’ll be trying 😮 it makes so much sensee..
Can you do a tutorial on how to have apps for specific focuses? I think it's a great idea to keep the homescreen minimal but I'm unsure on how to do it haha
same, I was thinking he changed the apps manually to show us on the video, but if when he presses a shortcut, his home screen arranges automatically like that, this is worth millions
nevermind, i found the solution, the sortcut is used only to choose between focuses, now that you have the shortcut, you need to configure your focus modes, you go to focus - choose the focus mode you want to configure - on customize screen select "Choose" and then it will let you create a new page with the apps you want, or choose from an existing page on your home screen, my advise is to create a new page first with the apps you want, and then once you save the cchanges, turn on the focus mode you just configures and THEN add the widget, because that is the only way it will let you add widgets to the created pages
I have my phone set up to do not disturb at all times with all notifications silenced. Important people can get through and everyone else can wait for me to call them back or respond to their messages. I do this twice per day. I check my emails once per day. Life has never been better.
I have never used focus modes on my iPhone but after watching this I really liked your focus setup with the Shortcuts widget. Decided to set mine up that way as well. Gonna give it a try and see how I like it! I like the idea of a dynamically changing homescreen.

I found this thing recently, and it said if you go to Settings then Accessibility then change the colour filter to black and white and apparently it can help with managing screen time
Thanks for sharing. I love the style of this and didn’t know about focus modes to this extent. Will try this out. I’ve had my phone permanently on DNS for over a year now and have loved it. No ringing or buzzing to distract me
This is awesome! Thank you for sharing this with us. I find it almost impossible to get much done every day, between distractions and social media overtaking my brain. I am going to set these up right now! One question - You said you start sleep mode at 9pm. Can you give us an idea of the rest of your day, hour wise? I have GOT to do something to get a grip on my productivity, so I'm just curious as to how many hours you dedicate to different things! Thank you! ^.^
I wake up around 5 to 5:30 so I can some exercise or deep work in before the kids wake up. After breakfast and dropping off the kids, it's pretty much working in time blocks until around 5-6pm which is dinner, then more time with the fam until bed :)
