@@briannelson3830 I can't say I know much about JAB, but I from my perspective I agree with the assessment that he probably did not have the right experience or mind set to be a strong leader. Let's hope JAB's new opportunities(3:55) will make him happier.
When you're feeling sorry about him just remember that under him Blizzard released such "masterpieces" like BfA, Shadowlands, Diablo Immortal, Warcraft 3 reforged And the only good thing he did release-Classic, was destroyed with boosts in bc and he was the one who thought Classic servers is a stupid idea Not even counting amount of scandals that happened under his rule
Kotick runs incredibly successful business in the face of Activision, while blizzard increasingly becomes irrelevant. So amusing to see people cry over Kotik so bad. If anything he will sell Blizzard to Tencent
JAB needed to go, not for the harassment scandal. He probably had no clue about that and it's entirely on a bad HR department not doing their jobs there - but he did mismanage basically every single Blizzard IP while he was in charge, like, StarCraft is in maintenance mode, HotS is in maintenance mode, WoW hemorrhaged subs, Reforged was a scandal...arguably the only 2 active IPs Blizzard has is Diablo and Overwatch...that's a LOT of money left on the table...which isn't really excusable. It's his job to further the development of Blizzard's IPs, even if they're not mega hits because diversifying your revenue streams prevents your corporation from being excessively vulnerable to market shifts or things you just can't anticipate.

I don't think this is the way Blizzard can change everything. In my opinion, they should have immediately fired everyone who was part of the whole scandal. I doubt that changing the rules and the people who are supposed to oversee the safety of employees will affect it. A woman who committed suicide because of harassment was not something that happened for a few days. It took a long time and yet no one knew about it. It doesn't just have to happen in the workplace, it can grow into the privacy of those employees. It seems to me that Blizzard is trying to make "changes" just to make players feel they care about it and get back into the game, but in reality it absolutely doesn't solve the problem here. For me personally, this information is nothing to convince me of Blizzard's efforts to solve this problem and prevent further harassment.

People get promoted to the position just above where they should be. JAB seems to be the kind of guy that doesn't have the force of personality to command presence and with all of the videos with his appearances in conferences and blizzcon especially there's a narrative that he enabled all actions. I think he's just incapable of putting his foot down because he wants to be more of a "go along guy." Now that there's new blood, especially when they aren't entrenched in the "culture" it could only be a good thing for Blizzard. The biggest question is what will this new blood bring, what has the abhorrent culture at blizzard stymied, and what good could come of this? It will all remain to be seen. That said, Blizzard no longer has a president, only "co-leaders" and what will that mean for this new subsidiary vs division of Activision Blizzard?
9:23 literally what SE did with Yoshi-P. He never touched any Final Fantasy before. He worked on multiple Dragon Quest games before he got moved over to FF14.

JAB needed to go, not for the harassment scandal. It's actually a shit quote though, because in many of lifes circumstances, making mistakes is a lesson in themselves. Failing is a massive part of growth. He's right, but it's a shit statement.
@@felautumn9534 Yeah the way he phrased it was a bit poor, but what he meant was absolutely on point. There's a difference between a guy that has a lot of experience in failure but also a lot of experience in correcting those mistakes VS a guy that just keeps failing and making the same mistakes. As you said, failing is a massive part of growth, but if you keep failing and don't grow, then you're pretty shit.
BRAK from space ghost had a song called “Don’t Touch Me”. He should’ve listened to that song.
Well shit, talk about repressed memories. That show was the bomb
We think we knew better, and we did.
🤣

President leaves, doesn’t replace the President but gives us two managers.
