Wow! Just when I thought it wouldn't get better! This game has improved so much with loads of action, and new weaponry such as the sniper. This game has truly come a long way and this is a classic that will never die. Twenty years later, this is still a popular shooting game and always manages to outdo other shooting games.
Khalid Elmekki In my opinion this game is bad. It has almost none of what made the previous Time Crisis games awesome. There is little to no music in-game; creating a lot of boring, empty moments between scenario transitions. And the gunplay feels very unpolished and even unfair at times; enemy hitboxes are bullshit in TC5. The set-pieces are boring, and the graphics are a bit stale in my opinion (maybe its just that I don't like the Unreal graphics engine). Furthermore, this game is not popular at all in the arcade that I work at. I'm the only person who has bothered to beat the game and I have the high scores. I'd say the one redeeming quality is the late-game. It starts to feel better paced and more like a Time Crisis game.
There are 3 things that tells me that project titan inspired this game 1. The multi hiding mechanic. 2.Wild Dog identical design in Project Titan except older and with another hairstyle. 3.There is one description telling directly to the player rather than Richard about the story of project titan in the ps1 box that in the last line says the following "Good luck... and remember, trust no one" and that mini quote is directly to the player so that is why namco took Robert rather than other agents like Giorgio or Evan because they knew that the fans would be sad if Robert betrayed the agency. Such sad but we have been warned since Project Titan.
There is one more area Bandai Namco can use if they want to play the Project Titan card. It is if the Wild Dog we defeated in stage 3 is a body double and the real Wild Dog appears in one of the later stages like stage 5 or 6 and in trench coat and weapon arm. They can also pair Wild Dog with Wild Fang.
Then 2 agents with some military and CIA members to track down the terrorists in with side stories as the CIA and military soldiers, like rescue mission.
to be honest with you all, this is the ONE arcade game that seems so hard to finish with no hits (and im talking about ANY series of the game), but once you get the hold of fast reflexes, speed shooting with handguns, and considerable endurance in your foot to step-retract-step-retract in long periods, you can totally wreck the shit out of it. Before the release of this installment, I have cleared Time Crisis 2 and Time Crisis 4 countless times with no hp with by mastering these factors ive mentioned, and it only took me 3 losses in the mastermind edition to learn the whole thing and clear the whole stage with either one or no hits at all. all he's trying to accomplish in this game is obviously clearing the whole thing with no hits. I can clear the whole stage while shooting all rockets thrown at me in any of the stages, including the 7:43 part, which this player happened to duck at the whole time rockets were flying
+Exiled Candy i agree as well. Im also able to clear Time Crisis 2 & 4 in one go (still taking at least 2 hits from the Stage 4 of TC4 though). Time Crisis 5 is still yet to come in my place though :'( and shooting fast is pretty hard in any Time Crisis arcades, due to the long distance the arcade gun's trigger has to go in order to shoot.
+Son Kim fast shooting is not gonna be a problem if you got the right holding formation. a lot of people in the arcade i visit often would like to argue about how trying to shoot fast in handguns in TC arcades would always affect their accuracy, since they use their "dominant hand" (e.g. right-handed, left-handed) to handle the speed shooting of the trigger and let the other hand do the pointing, to get as much speed as possible. the result is obviously, fast firerate but the gun pointer is juking everywhere. the thing is you can do it the opposite (dominant hand in the pointing, less dominant in speed shooting), making you able to shoot fast while still able to maintain high accuracy. im the 1st placer in the arcade cabinet i go at lol, cause the boss portions of each stage are my "points pot" x) ditching good hit combos and maintaining accuracy in those portions gives you tons of score. speed shooting is not the strong suit of your less dominant hand though, its much more tiring to do, but at least you can afford to hit a lot of shots.
I will not say that it is difficult to finish with no damage and earning a decent score. I have completed all six stages and my highest score without damage for 2p is 5,554,120 points. I will mostly have to work on my accuracy for even higher scores.
I cant kill the two helicopters fast enough before the rockets start closing in on me. the only thing i do in that part of the game is shoot one heli down, then focus on the rockets until he distances enough, then get to the 2nd heli, bid to luck if I. able to have enough seconds in killin it
Anyone noticed the change of a word in a quote from Robert before the mastermind edition when he talked about the auditor he said "his briefcase was never found" but when the mastermind came out now he said "Her briefcase was never found".
+ninotimecrisisfan They changed a few pieces of dialogue. You can hear it within the game that in the very first cutscene they changed it from "sightseeings over" to "vacation times over" Multiple dialogues were changed.
I think Wild Fang is dead for good this time. This is because in the last two games he was not killed by explosions. In Time Crisis 3, he was shot down by Alan Dunaway and Wesley Lambert while in Time Crisis 4, he hit by a UCAV after William Rush kicked him down. Here in this game, not only he is killed by explosion, he looked like he is actually dying and even said he's waiting on the other side which means that he is finally accept that he's gonna die. There is no way he is coming in Time Crisis 6 (if there is one).
This game when I first finished it drove me fucking bonkers in the best way possible. This game is NOTHING BUT TESTOSTERONE!!! AND IT’S FANTASTIC!!! I have never been so emotionally invested playing an arcade game of all things!!! Teaming up with Keith and Robert, fighting both of them, watching two of your childhood heroes fight, EVERYTHING WAS ALL I NEEDED! Oh and taking down Gravity Gun Wild Dog goddamn! This game wanted to be nuts and fucking shit dude I still can’t believe I played this!!!

this game is disappointing when it comes to other weapons , the machine gun , shotgun does less damage than the previous games , the grenade didn't kill all enemies on the screen , when it comes to bosses the only weapon that is useful is ur handgun , the machine gun , shotgun and grenade is only good for doing more combos not for damage

Playing this game for about an hour every few says, constantly standing with weight on my left leg, so i can use the pedals with my right foot - this has now cause me some serious knee pain after playing. takes about 3 days to go away after playing.

I tried so hard to do a no damage or at least 1 card swipe run But if you do well the regular white enemies start to shoot red bullets too so youre gonna take damage unless you are on point all the time.
Honestly if anyone would be a great Time Crisis villain, it would be a former TC protagonist. For real, Keith and Robert took down a goddamned army with nothing but handguns. And even if they did use machine guns or FUCKING SWORDS, of course they were unstoppable forces of nature. Curious where they can go next tho. However I don't see it as a negative; in fact it seems nice to have plenty of returning characters, other than the obvious Wild Dog. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I never noticed any returning characters introduced in Time Crisis 4.

one thing i kinda dislike about this were the boss fights they felt to be alot in defensive almost in the same spot i know there were old bosses who could be defensive but mostly otheres werent only Keith was the best but thats my opinion oh and they need to put more enemies and waiting to make the game bigger like the older ones
i try it the first time i found this game, it took me 9 credits(2 life only) finish the game as an expert of the previous time crisis series. 2nd time i need 3 credits(2life) review is, this have to be the most disappointing series. guns other than handgun is rubbish, as the game is focus on spam switching the side. the machine gun is so weak that you cant even use on boss, btw they should have put some specific mechanic that prevent player from switching side as it will damage the player, (like a sudden laser wall in between switch side, if player switch side they take damage). it doesnt as eventful as time crisis 4, time crisis4 give the best gaming experience. time crisis 2 is simple and classic, with the pace that easy to catchup and the flow is smooth. time crisis 3 is very challenging and still one of the game that i cant play twin gun due to most of the machine is broken or i just cant get the hang of the final stage complexity.
The game actually forces you to NOT rely on extra weapons like Machine Guns, Shotguns, and Grenades. Machine Guns has 15% more slower rate of fire than TC4, and the weapons have more less max. ammo. It's actually, IMO makes the game more challenging as it forces you to actually try to be in the leaderboards and not simply clearing the game.
Yeah, it him alright, a villainous criminal won't die over the years, he's a real pain, when VSSE kills/defeats him, he always ended up coming back for revenge

there was a rom that the game tech put in the machine once he put that rom in the game reseted and then using the internet it updated every night around 1 am I beat the game then it reaset on me the game tech told me that @ 1am the game is programed to update instantly same with all time crisis 5 games
it seems like this game gotten easier because that side swiping shit. and u can easily take out enemy forces with out effort which sucks. nice game play dough. hopefully the next one if there is one gets rid of tha and ups the accuracy on those enemy soldiers so u feel like ur life is in danger everytime u pop ur head out. forcing u to be careful. tell me im wrong
Yeah I played it and the switching was a bit strong cause you could catch the enemies off guard all the time. Still a cool mechanic, especially with the quicktime event with the pedal.

I tried so hard to do a no damage or at least 1 card swipe run
But if you do well the regular white enemies start to shoot red bullets too so youre gonna take damage unless you are on point all the time.

Honestly if anyone would be a great Time Crisis villain, it would be a former TC protagonist. For real, Keith and Robert took down a goddamned army with nothing but handguns. And even if they did use machine guns or FUCKING SWORDS, of course they were unstoppable forces of nature.

man the story is half baked imo. its way too fast in pacing and there is no character development at all. tc 4 and 3 are way better.

I will only want Time Crisis 1, 2, 3 and 4 to be on modern consoles as this 5 was a major disappointment. Whoever made this with betrayal from one of the past agents should regret it.

+ninotimecrisisfan I assume Namco has ran out of NPCs to create since most characters are from previous Time Crisis, most noteworthy is Time Crisis II while Wild Dog & Fang are seen starting from 1 & 3 respectively. However I don't see it as a negative; in fact it seems nice to have plenty of returning characters, other than the obvious Wild Dog.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I never noticed any returning characters introduced in Time Crisis 4.

one thing i kinda dislike about this were the boss fights they felt to be alot in defensive almost in the same spot i know there were old bosses who could be defensive but mostly otheres werent only Keith was the best but thats my opinion oh and they need to put more enemies and waiting to make the game bigger like the older ones

i try it the first time i found this game, it took me 9 credits(2 life only) finish the game as an expert of the previous time crisis series. 2nd time i need 3 credits(2life)
review is, this have to be the most disappointing series. guns other than handgun is rubbish, as the game is focus on spam switching the side. the machine gun is so weak that you cant even use on boss, btw they should have put some specific mechanic that prevent player from switching side as it will damage the player, (like a sudden laser wall in between switch side, if player switch side they take damage).
it doesnt as eventful as time crisis 4, time crisis4 give the best gaming experience.
time crisis 2 is simple and classic, with the pace that easy to catchup and the flow is smooth.
time crisis 3 is very challenging and still one of the game that i cant play twin gun due to most of the machine is broken or i just cant get the hang of the final stage complexity.
The game actually forces you to NOT rely on extra weapons like Machine Guns, Shotguns, and Grenades. Machine Guns has 15% more slower rate of fire than TC4, and the weapons have more less max. ammo. It's actually, IMO makes the game more challenging as it forces you to actually try to be in the leaderboards and not simply clearing the game.
I hope this comes to Europe sometime

I love this genre! Pissed off because I haven't played this entry yet, and it looks awesome! The only thing that I find wrong with it is its characters that look like a pair of The Jersey Shore rejects! looks like they aimed for the douche bag look and they overkilled it!

it seems like this game gotten easier because that side swiping shit. and u can easily take out enemy forces with out effort which sucks. nice game play dough. hopefully the next one if there is one gets rid of tha and ups the accuracy on those enemy soldiers so u feel like ur life is in danger everytime u pop ur head out. forcing u to be careful. tell me im wrong
Yeah I played it and the switching was a bit strong cause you could catch the enemies off guard all the time. Still a cool mechanic, especially with the quicktime event with the pedal.
yea i think they still be better off. another thing is wild dog and wild fang i wish they did something about their appearance especially fangs. i also like the team up they did in 3. wish they did tha in this one. so far tha ones my favorite
