- Now that the Fungal Fighter has reached level 80, it's time to see through the second half of the level boost - gear! For the most part, getting decent gear early on in Guild Wars 2 is exceptionally easy - as I detailed in the mainline Zero to Hero series, you can generally simply purchase it off the trading post for an incredibly small sum - but in this case, I wanted to demonstrate how to get statlines which would otherwise be prohibitively expensive. Trading Post Celestial gear would typically set you back a good 10 or 15 gold for each piece, but using a couple of handy techniques, I'll show you how you can get an ENTIRE SET for only 10 gold and a couple of hours of gameplay!

Just as a reminder, the Fungal Fighter isn't going to replace my main Zero to Hero character or account in any way - this mini-series will be over as soon as I've reached the exact same level of progression (hence why I'm playing as another Guardian, to make it as similar as possible) as the level boost gives you! @MightyTeapot Have a question.... Your main is Guardian? Is good for Open World, maybe Fractal and Raid, Armor Celestial? all Celestial. or maybe other armor for more tanky? I like play Guardian maybe 2 character Necro.
A tip for anyone playing Charr. The Blood Legion Soldier Helm box is a race-locked stat-selectable exotic helm that sells for ~20s on the TP.
Finally playing a Charr pays off!
Will remember this when regearing my Vindi to Heal Herald.

Trading post is just a click away to the PvP lobby. It’s free, and has no cooldown. It also teleports you back to your same exact location when you leave. No reason to waste resources.

verdant brink really grew on me through the time spending there. without gliding and masteries it felt like sh't but with the masteries and also mounts its one of my favorite maps and i really enjoy farming the events and metas there

Okay, may as well share some of my best hints:
Backpack: Crafting level 78 Backpack (even comes with an infusion slot!), Weaponsmith would also allow you to get the Celestial Axe, as big part of the cost is actually the charged Crystal Timegate!
Rings: As you said, 5 days of T1 Dailies for 2 Best in Slot Ascended Rings! But alternatively...
Rings + Amulet + Other Accessory: Spend 30 AP to unlock the Willbender collection (dunno if this step is 100% needed Edit: Needed for ring and accessory, not needed for amulet!), then buy the Willbender's Ring in Echovald + get the Willbender's Trinket as a drop and maybe get the Badge of Compelling to get an Amulet. All of these are COMPLETELY Stat selectable, including EoD stats! As the Willbender's Trinket is Unique, you can get a SECOND stat selectable trinket by Killing a Bandit Executioner, as the first time you get their Purse you also get a Bandit Death Mark Accessory.
Bonus hint: In case you use Berserker Stats, buy the Level 78 Exotic Rings instead. For a miniscule change in stats the price is extremly lower.
Also, as we are here for Fast and somewhat sensible gameplay: How to get to EoD asap.
1. Get 1 Teleport to Friend, eithet via Black Lion Statuette or via Gold Conversion. Don't worry, you can earn it back later.
2. Join the LFG for ANY EoD Strike.
3. Use TP2F and check if one sits in Arborstone, as they often start from there.
4. TP there and leave squad.
Congratulations, you now have Access to New Keinang City, Arborstone, Echovald Forest and Dragon's End, which is huge due to the 10+g for clearing the meta daily.

@@narutaru6522 The Meta giving 10+g daily? That's the Dragon's End Meta. Teapot does it in the first episode of Zero to Hero. You will need to sell the rewards though:
1x Antique Summoning Stone: 5.15g
15x Memories of Aurene: 55s each, 8.25g total
Total gain: 13.4g before taxes, 11,39g after 15% TP taxes.
Note that this uses instant sell prices, you could slightly increase it via sell orders.
Would highly recommend the main series of Zero to Hero, as Teapot has LEAUGES more knowledge than me, but if there is any more I can answer you, feel free to ask! :D

Does this play through go through just core without expansions, or do you need the expansions to get the most out of the game in this way? And do you know when the expansions go on sale?

Watching this 9 months later, is there a reason to choose celestial on all pieces of equipment? Is that just good for guardian or would any one recommend a thief do the same thing?
Celestial is pretty strong for open world on most classes, but Guardian, Revenant, Elementalist and Ranger. Im sure celestial devil or deadeye can work for your Thief though.

Once you hit 80 there is a ton of options and it's kinda just "what ya wanna do?" I wind up doing fractals and trying to get ascended gear every time I'm on... finding a good group to play with is the most important part of gw2 there's too many options unless you got people to help you focus on something IMHO otherwise I do meta event trains lol

Airhsip parts are peculiar. You actually don't get them for doing basically anything in VB (unless you have nuhoc hunting mastery), you get them almost exclusively from opening airship cargo. It's the crowbars that you get as a reward for everything. So after spending time doing the meta you gotta run around opening chests except these ones don't show on the map or in convenient clusters. What is tier 4? I just started playing gw2 after I quit wow and just got into HOT xpac
Depending on the progression of the map wide meta there are 4 tiers, max rewards come from tier 4 meta which includes a stat selectable bladed armor box.
That's why beef is better than bacon.

Story actually helps you gear: Level 80 rare backpack in one of the missions, and level 80 exotic helm. Also, Why didn't you use the level 72-75 exotic gear you got from leveling?

Hi @MightyTeapot I saw that on your new account you have 5 slot chars, that means your account is not free to play which mean that you have already been bought pot,hot or eod dlc. My suggestion is to prove that you create a new free account on the site and then do "zero to hero!" video. If you would buy any dlc do that with the in-game currency and prove it, cuz I was hitting max level and wasn't be able to glide or purchesing some items from BM, cuz some of them are greyed.
Why no food & utility and boosters? This would go much faster and easy if you use the things that is in the game.
Why not first go to a Black Lion Trader (Trading Post) and at least pickup a full set of Devona's gear (Heavy plate Berserker gear) which should cost you about FOUR gold? Berserker's Iron Great Sword is less than a gold on my server, Ebonblade (Berserker greatsword) is about 1g, Crystal Guardian is about 1G 30 silver and it's the Celestial Greatsword. Why can't you at least go into being level 80 and at least have level 80 exotic gear? i could understand if F2P cannot acquire such items from the Trading Post but you are assuming the player has all Expansions.
That works great for berserker gear, and I'd highly recommend it. This stuff works for ALL stat types though so it's very powerful when it comes to gearing condition builds or support builds.
