Laura, if your other oven that takes forever to bake/roast and it’s a gas oven, it’s likely that the igniter in it may need replacing. That’s a tell tale symptom it needs to be replaced. Coming from a gas utility technician.
I’ve been watching your channel for years lol my speculation is …he’s laughing because you’re trying to “act normal” but us Laura Vitale veterans can tell you may be under the influence of a glass of wine or a delta 8 gummy and feeling “happy”. Not inebriated…..just relaxed and happy lol. No judgement at all. Ty for all of the recipes you share
I use butternut squash too, for the same reason BUT boost the flavor by adding a small mashed sweet potato, it tastes great! Also, I don't puree my filling, I just mash it, so it has more body and texture, but is reasonably smooth - canned puree is too soggy, lacks texture.

If you roast it long enough with the herbs and garlic and purée it well you should be fine. The long cook time really breaks it down and brings out all those lovely sugars.

It seems like I needed about 20 times the amount of liquid/egg you used in yours. When I tried to repeat this recipe, the dough wasn't dough, it was flour with some lumps in it.
