I got so worried when I saw Miphas statue was gone from Zora Domains plaza. Only to find they made a whole sanctuary for her- its truly beautiful. My favorite small spot in the whole game. She really deserved it.
I was enraged when i washed the statue and saw it was replaced, I stopped playing for over a week until a friend told me that it was only moved, not replaced

Yah same.. I got disappointed when I saw sidon and link statue replaced Mipha, only to find out it was moved.
Fun fact: the rain effects in this video were created from live footage of me crying in front of Mipha's statue for several hours a day.

She was the first Champion I ever saved and it kind of spoiled the others for me. The writing for Zora’s Domain, the grief the people still felt after a hundred years, the profound personal connection with Link- I feel like she was the best-written of all the Champions and Zora’s Domain the best area. She also has the best descendent. Love that himbo shark.
I love the idea of her seeing Sidon and Link meet and being like "Oh goddess they're too similar."
Even in Tears of the kingdom the zora story spoiled the other region's stories.

There’s no sugarcoating it, this is dark. She died a horrible death and languished for a century, unable to pass on. And only in that position out of altruistic sense of duty, unaided by fearless conviction, driven by real courage (perseverance in the face of fear), kindness and even love.
The fate is the same as the others and many more, the tragedy is that it couldn’t have happened to someone less deserving.

I'm not sure why, but this song always made me feel so warm, but so cold. There's something about it that's just so sad yet comforting. It makes me really think about things, and things that aren't there, never were, never will be again. This game was my life, brought so many memories, and I'll never forget it. Someday I'll come back here. I know I will.

Thats what I love, its so tragic and melancholic, her hopelessness when it comes to her love for link who is only a hylian, her own weaknesses and shyness, her failures. Her story is so sad so melancholic, filled with regrets mistakes
Thats what I loved about this whole Zelda game, its how sad and hopeless it feels, all the death and suffering everyone faced could have been so easily avoided and there's nothing we can do to fix our past mistake, we can only make things right for the future generations

I visit Mipha while I venture. I had just gotten out of a long relationship (a little over a year but i still consider it a long one). I was very heartbroken, and visiting her statue felt very comforting to me. Even in knowing her tragic fate, It still felt like she was there. I still see the statue today and will continue to for as long as I remember.

I'm a complete Zelda Newbie but BOTW is such a great game when it comes to selling the amnesia part and the recovering process. By the end of my first playthrough I genuinely missed the champions and had a connection with them. I hope their powers live on in some form in tears of the kingdom because otherwise it would feel like their second death
Play (or watch the cutscenes/"movie") of Age of Calamity 😊 it's a DLC that came out in between BotW and the newly released Tears of the Kingdom. It is like an alternate reality where the Champions succeed and BotW doesn't have to occur. Makes it all a little less heartbreaking.

7 years from now, we got this character. And even though I haven't always been a big Zelda fan, this version of Hyrule feels so special to me. If there's one character to thank for that, it's absolutely Mipha. She has become my all-time favorite video game character. The Zora have become the people I would choose to become because it was their princess who's helped me in a tough time in my life. Thank you, Mipha........ for everything. I'm glad that you are not just my favorite champion, not just my favorite Zelda character, but my all-time favorite video game character. I'll never forget you, no matter what.

I feel like Zora's Domain has the best storyline, the way it's written, how well the grief is expressed (especially in Sidon, poor guy), and just in general the storyline for the region is great.
I was around 7 or 8 when I started playing zelda games, I started with Breath of the Wild.
I never understood that the champions died untill recently, and Im gonna play through again and probably understand the story better (and probably cry aswell)
As much as I love the Zelda franchise as a whole this song means something different to me, this video in general. Around 2-3 years ago my rabbit of 8 years passed. It was hard to sleep because I was having intrusive thoughts relating to death at night (I have pretty severe OCD) and playing music while I slept was the only thing that seemed to work. I’ve tried a billion videos and none of them stuck for more than a night. This has helped for months now and I can’t thank you enough for this, I can sleep well now and can feel safe and comforted by the rain.

In the Japanese version of the game,the adventure log is like Links diary, where it shows his thoughs on the said quests and their updates. For Vah Ruta, after remembering Mipha, Link expresses sorrow and utter guilt for not being able to help her, which might hint that he loved her back but never said it to her until it was too late.
I love how this song makes me feel close to Hyrule and yet far enough to touch the depths of my soul.

I can't listen to this song for too long. I get too sad. But I absolutely adore the song, and I love Mipha. I recently replayed the game and when I reached Mipha I nearly cried again. She's such a sweetheart and didn't deserve the fate she got.
I remember seeing her little sanctuary for the first time in totk and just being so happy that she had her own place. It felt so right to me.
I’m here to thank the person who was there when I would fight that lynel for the 7th time, get thrown off cliffs, and fighting the other blights. Mipha was always there, ready to heal my wounds. The true goat.

Literally the other day I had this in the background while I was on Character AI chatting with a Sonic bot. I typed in “A small tear escapes Xanthus’ eyes.” And I started crying myself.
Fun Fact: If the Zora Armor was crafted by the princess for their future husband, that would mean it would serve as a sort of engagement ring (similar to the Zora's Saphire from OoT). This would imply that Link and Mipha actually had something serious, and not one-sided, which makes both the personal story of Mipha, along with the entire plot of BotW all the more tragic
link and mipha did not have something serious, the zora armor was crafted by mipha to confess her feelings to link, though she never got to give it to him. (im not entirely sure, but this is how i understood it)
This was what TotK was missing. I couldnt connect to the characters like i did in BotW especially Mipha. Something about her and her story touched me deeply. Even in TotK when i found her statue i felt a pang of sadness. She deserved so much better
Botw was the first Zelda game I ever played; and I fell in love with the entire Zelda world. It was so full of life and character. Mipha was the first champion I saved, and my favorite. Her story broke my heart; her love for her people, how she cared so much for the other tribes, and how she fought so hard against Ganon only to be slain. And then you discover she was in love with Link, and there’s so much more sorrow added to her tale. Mipha was strong; if Link had turned her down, she would be hurt, but she would understand and be okay. But she never got the chance. She loved Sidon so much and never got to see him grow up.

Link arrived at Zora’s Domain, the moon on the horizon as he paused to look at Mipha’s statue. Mipha, his best friend and once his closest confidante, was gone. Though he had not fully regained his memories, he knew in his heart that his time with Mipha had always been wonderful, a precious thing he would keep forever. He looked at her face-the statue’s face-and took note of how calm and serene she looked. Mipha had always been that way, as lovely and gentle as the waters flowing through her beloved home. Link wished, for one heart wrenching moment, that he could have her back, that Sidon could have her back. Link saw how Mipha’s absence affected the young prince, and wanted more than anything to make it better. All he could do was be there for Sidon, as his friend. That was enough. Link looked up at the sky, hoping Mipha knew how much she was missed. Before he knew it, the moon had risen, and it had begun to rain. Even the sky seemed to mourn the Zora Princess. A single tear fell down Link’s face, a shred of emotion that he hadn’t allowed himself to feel in so long. But that was alright. It was just him, the rain, and Mipha. So he sat at the base of her statue, watching the rain as he’d done with her before. Being the Hero of Hyrule could wait for a little while.

I was like ten years old in 2017 when this game launched my stepdad bought it for me so we can spend more time together we played a lot together vah ruta was the first titan we ever made and I have a lot of memories I can remember all the fights all the bosses all the missions we completed for me it’s not about the game it’s about the memories with my stepdad he is no longer with us and this song gives me even more memories bcs it remind me of him I can say I miss him and while I wrote this comment I cried A lot… 😕😭

She was the first champion i saved, i got to attached to her story more than the other ones (maybe because it took me longer than the rest regions) , when i cleaned the statue and saw sidon and link , i felt dissapointment, i tought mipha would never be mentioned again, but i kept going and when i finally got to her new location, i felt happy, happy that the statue was still there, her whole story is sad, how she never got the courage to confess to link before her death, but atleast after calamity ganon was defeated, she could finally rest in peace, knowing she had helped link for one last time
mipha was the one video game character that made me feel horrible. she was kind, innocent, and just wanted to help. she was in love with link, and even made a traditional armor for him, that was literally designed for the husbands of zora royalty. sadly, ganon attacked, and she was taken control of by the darkness. i thought, when i first played, that i couldve saved her, that she could have a happy ending, with the other champions, alive and well, but it wasnt meant to be. she lost her life in that fight, and there was nothing that could be done. seeing her as a ghost devastated me, and i felt as if i lost a piece of myself, as if i was in link's shoes, and i saw someone i truly cared about die in front of me.
this is why i both love and hate nintendo when it comes to legend of zelda games. they know how to make you feel true pain. not anger, not physical pain or rage, but sadness. emptiness. they built up this character that anyone could feel a connection to, and kill her off faster than a dog in jojo's bizarre adventure. this is what we need in video games. not unfeeling cash grabs. we need things that can make us FEEL.
