Funny how they don't mention his history with Mir. You know, how he's the ONLY Canadian to have ever been inside of it to work? Something definitely noteworthy. There would be no ISS without Saylut, and Mir...
Yes but the Space Station orbits the Earth almost 16 times a day. Therefore every time the Space Station is over Asia it is half the circumference of the Earth plus the distance it is in orbit.
some sub titles in English, & French would be helpful for those of us who are mono-linguil. Hat's of to Com. Hatfield you are such a great ambassador for the Int. Space program, NASA, Canada, and indeed mankind. You demonstrate over and over how important the space program and the Int. space station is for all mankind. Thank you so much for these You Tube clips.
*As a numismatist & Amateur Astronomer, this banknote is a dream come true for me. Two of my biggest loves are so close together. I love this banknote and is one of my most precious in my collection. :D*
How much of that "stuff" all around you (equipment, wires, etc) do you REALLY have to know about? Every time I see interviews with folks at the ISS, I'm amazed at the amount of "stuff" there is, on all the walls!
I wonder how the rest of the astronauts feel about Cmdr Hadfield considering how he's like the super star of the ISS right now. I honestly can't tell you the name of another person on the ISS right now without googling it. I will go google it though because now I feel ignorant but Back to the original question I bet they are jealous.
These Polymer notes, are not Canadian inventions. We Aussies invented this technology. We have had Polymer notes for at least 20 years. In 2010 when I was in Canada everyone knew that the notes were coming. I parted with about 10 of the Australian notes I was still in possession of. Every one commented "is this an Aussie" invention, and the answer was YES.
It's so dumb how they gave him a test note and not a real issued note. Clearly as you can see there is no serial number. Fail. I would have tried to look for that one. :P
The Bank of Canada and the trial runs for Aussies turned out sweet love the new notes. Hope youngsters will want to do space stuff and not hockey :) hockey doesn't pay bills lol
Hmmm interesting. meanwhile here in Australia. we have paywave and eftpos and very rarely see or have a need for any cash these days. rapidly becoming a cashless society.
This guy seems quite cool, and I've watched a few of these vids. However the only Canadian I really want to see in space is Justin Bieber. Just keep him up there for 30 years or so until his voice breaks. I really think Canada, an NASA should do this, great publicity and you would also be solving one of Earths present day issues.
Funny how they don't mention his history with Mir.

He is a man of so many records.
The 5$ note is definitely the best note.
One the most beautiful notes in history of banknotes. :)
I know what you mean. The more you try not to look at it the more mesmerising it seems to be
Congrats. You must be so proud!
Chris and his wife, the ultimate long distance relationship.
I think the floating away is the point. It's fun to watch.
Space station is 236 miles above the earth. It's about 12,450 miles from one side of the world to the other.
at the end chris is like "but why canada arm 2 is not on the 10$ instead?"
That watch would drive me crazy.
So proud
Watching these videos makes me want to float around!
Bravo Hatfield for your french skills... you are such an incredible man.
You mean 1992. They were issued in 1988 but they weren't widely used and they still were producing the old notes at the same time.
Yes but the Space Station orbits the Earth almost 16 times a day. Therefore every time the Space Station is over Asia it is half the circumference of the Earth plus the distance it is in orbit.
Please put in English captions!
I don't know how he wears such a loose watch. It's constantly bouncing around. That would drive me crazy
Very nice, but isn't there any money left to buy a headset ???

Quite successfully though. Just with a heavy Anglo accent.
Thank you NASA for letting the original audio, and not translating over Chris Hadfield !!!
Chris is such an amazing dude honouring other space icons like Marc Garneau and everyone. Gracious always.
No video but he still plays with the bank note! Gotta love Chris
They have video of him ....He don't have video from them ...
How? They're all gonna be of the same material..so why do the other ones "suck"?
*As a numismatist & Amateur Astronomer, this banknote is a dream come true for me. Two of my biggest loves are so close together. I love this banknote and is one of my most precious in my collection. :D*

One of the coolest astronauts ever
The thing is that people will consider him even more as a "hero".
dammit its too hard to get rid of him
Is Microflow a flow cytometer?
How much of that "stuff" all around you (equipment, wires, etc) do you REALLY have to know about? Every time I see interviews with folks at the ISS, I'm amazed at the amount of "stuff" there is, on all the walls!
these people need to learn cable management
Good morning everybody, passt auf euch und auf uns auf! NASA, Esa and Co!
CANADA! CANADA! CANADA!
интересно как можно попасть на мкс???
More videos!!!!! :D
The automatic captions make the French parts hilarious.
still havent seen a poly 5$, but the 20$,50$,and 100$ poly bills suck.
Chris Hadfield...You make the human race proud.
Really cool!
Chris you make me proud to be Canadian
The earth is Flat and the ISS is just virtual reality.
"planet earth is blue..and there's nothing left to do" - Chris Hadfield
Thank you. I don’t have enough words to be able to do that. Science is everything
He really needs to get a headset mic that won't keep floating away... :)

Greg McCulloch shut up
I wish my money had astronauts on it :(
Pourquoi parler en français que pour parler en français? Que les francophones parlent français et les anglophones anglais, on va se comprendre.

Well they needed to send it to him on the last resupply ship and they are evry month as far as I know

Hmmm interesting. meanwhile here in Australia. we have paywave and eftpos and very rarely see or have a need for any cash these days. rapidly becoming a cashless society.
Lastindependentthinker that's just wrong. Cash is king and if it goes, the government have control of absolutely everything.
french, canada is a bilingual country
aaaaaaand my respect for you being a future mechanical engineer is now gone.
This video makes me ashamed to be an American. But in a good way.
