Awesome video. Do you know what type of power cable the drums plug into? I’m ordering from America, so I need to be sure the drums can actually plug into the walls over here.
Hi, I ordered the drums from Italy so they sent me the European plug
Just get an adapter man. They cost about 2USD.
Super good performing💪 i have the same drums, any advice to adjust the hihat controller and the bell of the ride to give a more realistic touch? Thanks in advance!
Thank you so much!
Unfortunately, there is no way to improve the performance of the hardware itself, or at least, I'm not aware of it. The only improvement I can recommend is to use some plugins or vst to give your kit a more faithful sound to reality.
@@sebastianosabo ok. Thanks for the answer Sebastiano!👍
Hi Sebastiano! Great video ! Question. Is it possible to import 3rd party drum sounds to this kit module and store them there ? so that you can use other better sounds then the ones that come stock with it ? Sorry if it's a dumb question. I am a guitar player who wants to learn drums and I am wondering if the Roland TD-17KVX is really worth 3 times as much as the millenium kit :)
hey thanks man, unfortunately I can’t give you a certain answer because I never tried to do it directly from the e-drum module but I read some comments where they said that this is possible.
I personally can tell you that I do this job by connecting the module via midi to my laptop and in this way, with the use of plug-ins, I can have a more realistic sound.
(Below the video I left a free drums plug-in which is not a bad start)
In this case, however, you need a DAW (like logic pro, ableton, etc.)
I also hate the default kits they are really fake.
However I think that the Roland TD-17KVX, in terms of feeling, sound and precision is much better than the Millenium kit.
@@sebastianosabo Thank you for the reply :) Do you know if the millenium kit is compatible with better Roland Cymbals ? so that it is possible to upgrade the hi hat for example ? Do you get any feel of delay latency while playing thru the plug ins ?
@@dr_satan_ unfortunately I can't tell you if it is compatible with parts from other brands, it would be a great thing especially for the hi-hat
and I've never had any kind of latency while playing
Hi. Looking to buy one of these for Christmas but I was wondering, can you run your laptop or pc through the kit to hear songs and the kit in your headphones? Thanks
Hi. Yes, you can do it.
There are various methods to do this, some easier and some more articulate.
You can connect the module to the pc ad use the default kit, but I usually use a midi configuration like in this video:
ua-cam.com/video/GdIT3KpJHgI/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SebastianoSabo
However, I recommend another method very fast and easy.
You can put the songs you like in a USB flash drive and insert it directly into the e-drum module.
Then you can start the song and play on it.
You can even record your performance and it will be automatically saved in the flash drive without the need of the pc.
Hello, so I am thinking to buy my first edrum kit ever (I have never played the drums before) but i want to learn, so i just want to ask you, does the edrum come with an amp? do you use headphones, or does it have its own speaker? I just want to know if I need to buy something extra, and also, do you recommend this kit for a beginner? thank you, great video by the way :)
Hi, thanks a lot! :) unfortunately the e-drum does not come with an amplifier but you can use it with any type of headphones or amplifier.
From this point of view it is very versatile.
Personally I always use headphones because I am very happy with them.
However, I recommend this product, it's so great for beginners.
@@sebastianosabo thank you, that was really helpful!!
Hi! Can you please tell me how do you rec The drum? With a midi interface or an audio interface?
With a MIDI interface. I just connect the module with a usb cable to the computer then i record with LogicProX
Hi there, I'm hoping to purchase this kit for Xmas and I was wondering can the Slate Drums SSD 5 Plug In be installed directly onto the module or must you connect a laptop/PC with a copy of SSD5 to the edrums in order to use the Plug In? Thanks
You have to use with pc/laptop.
You need a daw to open the plug-in.
I use it on LogicProX but you can download similar daw for free
@@sebastianosabo Thanks for the helpful reply. I'm just wondering if I bought this kit would it be possible for me to upgrade parts of it over the years? For example if I wanted to upgrade the module/brain a couple of years from now would that be possible? Would I have to purchase a module that is of the same brand as the rest of the kit? Thanks
@@Brenners2010 unfortunately I can’t answer this question because I have never tried to do it, you could write an email to thomann’s customer service maybe they will give you a precise answer
Apologies if this is a stupid question to ask but do you have to buy a speaker for this E-drum set in order for it to work in a venue setting? I'm thinking of buying one but I'm not sure how the thing works. Thanks
Hi, it's not a stupid question, I think you can use any kind of speaker but for a better performance you should have a look on the thomann website in the "monitoring systems for e-drum" section and you will surely find a specific one.
a few years ago I bought this speaker for e-drum: www.thomann.de/it/millenium_dm30_drum_monitor.htm?o=7&search=1604733316
(the brand is different but the speaker is the same) but I must tell you that I use it very little because I prefer to use headphones.
try to look at other sites too, maybe you find something at a lower price
@@sebastianosabo Thanks for the helpful reply! I'll look into the link that you've provided. Cheers :)
Thanks for the review.
Are you still happy with the product?
Thaks man, I confirm that this e-drums is not bad, but it would have been better to save the money and invest in a pro kit
Ciao, ottimo video! Hai avuto modo di provarla con GGD? Saluti!
Ciao grazie!
Nice video!
How did you get the hi-hat pedal to work with SSD5?
Rubbo thanks, the pedal started to work by itself, I didn't set anything in particular.
If it doesn't work you could try to add a scripter and set it to "drum kit designer V-drum Compatibility"
Let me know if it still doesn't work so I can put a video where I show you all my settings.
Rubbo or try to assign the pedal via MIDI mapping
@@sebastianosabo Can you show me how to do that? The pedal registrates in my daw, but it doesn't play "hi hat pedal" when i step on the pedal.
It has the right mapping, it turns blue in SSD5 when i step on it. But it doesn't trigger any sound.. :/
Rubbo which DAW do you use?
@@sebastianosaboReaper. It seems like the Hi-Hat Control is connected with a Mono cable.
Question : I’m using an old Alesis e-drum connect with a Mac / Digital Performer triggering Superior Drum via USB directly . Is it possible also with Millennium mps 850 ? Thanks
Of course!
I do the same but with a different plug-in.
@@sebastianosabo thanks
Can you put a kit you like from ezdrummer into a USB stick and plug that into the kit? Will the kit give u the option to make a custom preset using the sounds in the memory stick?
i heard of a guy who did it but i haven't tried it so i can't confirm.
@@sebastianosabo ok thank you
Mi spiegheresti in parole povere come usare i VST?
@@sebastianosabo grazie mille 👍😃

Wow lol my 750 was poorly packaged with most of the stuff loose and the ride cymbal was a joke and I couldn't get it replaced..solid kit just not a great buying experience
ouch, bad story.
Bad gesture by thomann, this shows his lack of professionalism.
hello, when using with plugin do you get only open and closet hihat positions or in between also?
I personally have only heard open and closed.
I think it is the fault of the poor quality of the hi-hat mechanism.
@@sebastianosabo THANKS I read elsewere that if you set it in the program as a rolland unit it works ,maybe give it a try , If you do tell me
Is there any good bag or case to carry the drum kit?
I don't know, a case or bag is not included with this kit but maybe you can find some online.
What are the electrical characteristics for voltage source?
9V direct current
Hi, can I use a double pedal for the kick drum, like tama iron cobra for instance or does it not recognize it
yes, you can. I use a pearl eliminator double pedal and it works
@@sebastianosabo how is the double bass hits registry? Does it track triplets etc well?
@@adityabali1939 yes, it does it quite well.
but remember it is a “cheap” product so you can find better
@@sebastianosabo I am a beginner so it is perfect for me
hello, could you upload the mapping file? please🙏🙏🙏
I ordered this kit, but how heavy is the box? I live on 3rd floor apartment without elevator, so no other option than using the stairs
You could open the outer package and take the heavy party out like the hi hat and the rack and carry them seperstely upstairs if the package is too heavy
@@benni0012 thx. Good idea
i think it is quite tiring to carry without elevator, if you can get help or open the main box and carry one box at a time
@@sebastianosabo received. I tried to carry the box up to the second floor (it was tough, but ok) and from there I opened it and took all parts out separately to 3rd.
Anyway , this kit is awesome.
@@peterhopqk Nice job man, i am glad you received the drums.
You'll love playing it!
Anyway, if you celebrate it, Merry Christmas. :)
is it totally free to get the SSD5 sounds?
No, the free version of SSD only has 3 kits if u want the complete version you have to buy it.
@@sebastianosabo oh but are the 3 free kits kind of good?
@@kermitthefrog3598 I liked them, you should try for a while and see if you like them too, they are free at most you uninstall them
ti trovi bene dopo molti mesi?
how hard was it to map for SSD?
David Cote with LogicPro X was so easy, just connect the moldule to the pc and the game it’s done.
If any sounds don't match, for example charlie, toms ecc..., you can assign them in the map section very easily.
David Cote I suggest you try the free version of SSD to see if it is right for you
@@sebastianosabo so just plugged in and everything was already mapped correctly?
