Brilliant video mate two small points first after wires for the indicator you're better off unclipping them and pulling the wire out from behind the reflector and tape and them up out of the way while you do the painting saves having to mask up and everything then second point when it comes to painting the reflector for the indicator if you leave the orange lens in place it's off the inside for you that way you don't have to mess about masking up the inside of the reflector for the indicator
Scott Lingard ah didn’t think about the wires lol yeah on second light I left the Amber lense cover in place while painting.. so much easier 👍🏻 thanks for all your advise mate
really does give the front of the car a great stance makes it pop really love what u have done to it mate fantastic job considering its the first attempt A++
@@FF04ORD you're very welcome. I'm tempted to try it out myself but I'm afraid annual inspection here in Belgium would fail me for it... I'd need a second pair to play with and get it back to stock for inspection 😏
Victor Cannoodt yeah I’d say get a second set and have ago, just take your time. I don’t see why not as your not spraying the reflective part..What you could do is do a set and go see a garage and ask them if it would be a failure .. or just swap them when it comes to mot/inspection time 😉
Great work, I am interested in the diametar of the orange bit from the indicator, I would buy angel eye for that and I need the dimensions, can you help me with that ?

good job mate,,,nice looking well. mate i have question regarding on the headlights aluminum plastis the round cover in the headlights if you know the size to mm or inch.
Came out really well 👍. For the lenses what I did with mine is sand with 1000 grit then 3000 grit then sprayed clear coat on. Looked so much better. Here's a link to my project. The headlight restoration is down the page www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/97539-mk65-fiesta-zetec-s-upgrades/page/6/ You could just machine polish it after sanding and apply a ceramic coating to protect it from UV damage. Gtechniq c1 is good
Steven Payne yes it’s fine, chrome bulbs make it look better. Can use led bulbs but they gonna stick out like mould on cheese so to speak 😂 Can’t use the standard bulbs as they flash white, the lens make them orange
Steven Payne I got mine from eBay, just searched chrome bulbs.. oh not sure if I mention in video but find out first if bulbs are an offset pin or opposite, sorry I can’t remember which
XXRYANXX I think it was 1000 or 1500 wet n dry sandpaper. It’s only for removing grease etc so the primer doesn’t react and to give it a light etching to stick to
I notice you didn't put the orange indicator covers back on . Did you use orange bulbs instead? . Good job tho . Im in the process of taking my wife's lights apart
Steven Mcniven it depends really, if rushing and warm weather you could do them in a day. I would say though to take your time and give it some time between layers. Maybe 2/3 days not rushing .it technically takes a few days for the lacquer to fully harden. If you can do this to a second set of lights then you don’t have to rush.
Does anyone know if this would still be legal for MOT and legal in general as i am trying to do it on my Fiesta zetec 2008 and im not sure whether i can?

@@FF04ORD that's mk4 facelift. I mean, it is officially called that way and if you buy parts for mk5 you'll get parts for JH*/JD* even in UK auto parts shops. I have been looking for a good video that goes through opening the headlights, and this hit the nail on the head!

good job mate,,,nice looking well. mate i have question regarding on the headlights aluminum plastis the round cover in the headlights if you know the size to mm or inch.
eulalio vargas hi, it’s the main big one and the small indicator section. The video should help to instruct on how to remove and paint
FF04ORD hi mate, the big one which with hid headlights cover you painted that was the white aluminum plastic, I need to know the size if you know it.
@@eulaliovargas2536 Sorry i dont the the size.
Great video mate. 😁 👍
Thanks mate... think I need to get a mid sized tripod that holds an iPhone .. bit hard trying to hold camera and do stuff haha
@FF04ORD. Where did you pick up a set of headlights from please?
t8365 can get them from eBay, a breakers yard or owners sites

How to orange in white indicator?😊
Did you use lacquer to finish them off?
No I forgot that part lol
@@FF04ORD how has the paint faired up without it since you got it done?
Hya mate daft question but when doing this do I need to buy orange bulbs if I'm taking the orange screen out
Hi, yes you will. Although I went for the chrome indicator bulbs.
Ok no problem good stuff cheers mate
Is the indicator still bright enough and orange enough if you take the orange lens off? Planning on doing this myself

Can’t use the standard bulbs as they flash white, the lens make them orange
Ahh OK, thanks for the quick reply. Don't suppose you have any links to bulbs before I go trawling through ebay/amazon
Chrome ones that is

Awesome, I've already found some on eBay. Thanks for the advice, very much appreciated. Trying to give my five door a bit more attitude haha
Hey bud what grit did you use to sand them down with??
Sorry I can’t remember..i may mention it in the video tho
i mean which round aluminum is the one you painted.
eulalio vargas sorry just seen comment. The removable rings.
Why grit sand paper did you use ?

I notice you didn't put the orange indicator covers back on . Did you use orange bulbs instead? . Good job tho . Im in the process of taking my wife's lights apart
Yeah I used chrome orange indicator bulbs as the normal bulbs emit a white light and the filter makes it orange. 👍🏻
How long roughly does the job take ?
