I’m definitely going to check this one out; I’ve enjoyed BlazBlue Revolution Reburning on mobile, so this might be interesting. Usually fighting games are more of a spectator sport for me, but that one had a control system I could really get a grip on.
0:04 *I am the white void. I am the cold steel. I am the just sword. With blade in hand I shall reap the sins of this world and cleanse it in the fires of destruction. I am Hakumen. The end has come!*
@@elitefdc2171No, Susanoo is Terumi back in his old body which is the Susanoo unit. Hakumen is when the Susanoo unit is inhabited by Jin. And if you mean functionally, then he is vastly different from Hakumen.
How did u do that "finishing move" on the 2nd boss during last phase ?? i still dont understand how potential synergies work exactly and how they unlock new moves if u combine like 3 fitting ones for example. which ones are these big moves and how to input that ? like minute 4:30 u do it
You have to get the potential that unlocks it during the run and then press Down+Special to use it. After using it you have to recharge it by hitting enemies from behind. As for synergies, fulfilling them unlocks extra effects for the associated potentials. One example I know is if you pick up the potential for Kokonoe's orbital beam, there will be synergies that extend the beam's duration for up to 9 or 12 secs if I'm not mistaken.
It's interesting to see that old beatem up Revolution Reburning was brought back but changed into something else. Might give it a shot. Was this game described as a Rogue lite too? First time play one of those personally
The worst thing about your videos is that there isn't enough of them. Blasphemous 2 is coming out in a few days so I know we'll get that video soon at least. I wouldn't mind for you to just post your own play throughs of what you play. Don't get me wrong, I like the all bosses no damage runs, but I just like watching you play. I also get a lot of good recommendations from you. You play the game I enjoy the most.
Wouldn't it be great if Arc System Works were to remake the whole BlazBlue series in this style? You know, Calamity Trigger, Continuum Shift, Chrono Phantasma and Central Fiction... Hell, while at it, why not add the Guilty Gear and Undernight franchises? I would totally buy them, and their "story segments" played visual novel style, would make all the more sense as a platformer. They don't need to change the vn parts, just put in the platformer sections and let it rip! Would be a nice show of love to a great franchise. Or franchises, if they add the other two.
-Oh god, well this is weird. You just triggered some memories that Sega used to own the bleach IP and they made a fighting game on ds then a sequel to that then they changed the genre up into a Platformer I believe then it was changed into a TRPG. I think changing game genres would sometimes alienate your audience with what the established genre is of a mainline series, as the saying goes "don't fix what ain't broke" but then again taking risks are interesting (E.g.: GG 2 -overture-- --(but then again they didn't at the time have copyright a majority of all the cast to make a GG fighting game but point still stands)) and these types of games can always work as spin off's per-se. Although i've only played BBTAG, these new designs as in the level and some of the enemies in this art style from what i've seen to me don't really scream Blazblue, probably because Arcsystem works isn't developing this and a Chinese Studio (91act) is. At least we're getting more BlazBlue content but i'm kinda sad at the same time the original director left since his gacha game failed which was going to have lots of stories but he just started a new studio called flare which is very interesting.-- Well that's just my two cents on what I think about this.
@@psypokeslowduck2880 I agree that changing the genre of a franchise, Sega-style, can quickly break a good IP. That being said, a change is not impossible, and in some cases even desirable. Especially where high action platformers and fighting games are concerned. Just look at the "Susanoo fight" in this video. It captures perfectly the 'feel' of the same sort of a similar fight taking place in the BlazBlue games. The key here, is that both genres are compatible in terms of specific aspects of their gameplay. From a design perspective, the way the move sets of he characters are exported from the highly technical fighting game style to the more dynamic platformer style feels seamless to me (you change button sequences to equippable skills with specific cooldowns). Again, look at the Susanoo example, with his iconic counterattack; it is just as cheap a move here as it was in the fighting games. And just as useful. That is the key for a good shift: you build from the already established. And building from a fighting game into a platformer boils down to basically build up from the boss fights towards the path that takes you there. Now, I know this game is not an ASW original, it's just an acquired product from a third party with BlazBlue skins and whatnot pasted on top. But the thing is: as you said, at least we are getting some BB flavor. It's been enough time since the last proper BlazBlue installment. The original games are nice and great, as any good fighting game connoisseur would tell you. But we still want more. Like I said, keep the whole vn parts intact (polish them a bit, if you want), but just add "a new mode of gameplay". Kinda like what Nintendo did with Smash. Same concept. Plus, enough time has passed since the last BB game. People have had time to digest it in full, so the impact of a genre shift would not work to the detriment of the originals. It would not run the risk of what happened with Phantom Breaker, where the original game is nice, but the spin off (Battle Grounds, with the chibi characters) was actually more fun as a beat 'em up. Mostly because how the gameplay, the lore, and the progression worked. And still the spin off, while good, felt underwhelming nonetheless, because they only used a fraction of the roster, and implemented a fixed progression that did not fit properly with the lore they were placing on it. Also because you couldn't help comparing it to the fighting game, as both came out pretty close to one another. In this case, however, the rouguelike elements, basically Procedural generation, can supply the missing part to ease the transition, since what maters is the combat as this ain't a precision platformer or a metroidvania, where the act of traversing would be also a very important part. In here, your 'seeds' for the stages need only to follow a proper set of bell-shaped curves where the action is concerned to deliver an engaging experience with proper downtimes to ease on the tension of the combat, all to create an adequate build up towards the boss at the end of the stage. The main mechanics are done, and as far as I can tell, it is a good enough beta. Now they only need to really polish the BlazBlue part so they fit properly with everything else. And from there, if adequately successful, they can build on. Anyway. Now we just wait and see what they cobble up for the final product. That's all. Sorry for the long rant.
If you think I only do sponsored videos now, don't worry. Zelda video is on it's way and Blasphmeous 2 will be released soon, so stay tuned.

I'm just so happy to see Arakune again lol

This is the best 2d action game I've seen. Imagine a SotN remake that looks like this😭
The game has kokonoe. It's already enough for me to know it's perfect.

Damn, I love it when Arcsys does something completely out of left field with their game design! I'll have to try this sometime.
This game wasn't developed by Arcsys though.

Your boss fight is always impressive Gellot. Great work❤❤❤
yo, it's so good to see you back and doing content just like before
Loved it! The serpent and Oread were characters from Crossing Void
people say this is not really a Blazblue game and feels more like a generic Rogue-like with Blazblue skins over it.
Game looks great! Amazing gameplay as always
Where u find Nan 01 boss ? I always fight the floating mind and then susano. is that hidden boss or is this supposed to come in between?
Same for me
How is the escape from Russia going?
Might be able to move this fall, idk yet.
@@Gellot Alright, best of luck in your endevour!
Another boss getting bully !! GG Gellot ! :D
Because clearly a roguelite is what BlazBlue needed. Eagerly awaiting the inevitable BlazBlue F2P next.

That Serpent of Destruction looks more like a mantis. A mutant mantis.
Defiling eye is by far my favorite but man did they waste alot of potential
