Fantastic deconstruction of this tune! Great example of how the sum is greater than the parts.
The whole album is awesome! Such good songwriting! Thanks for watching!
How you doing Brett? Good detailed lesson. I started to do this one other time but finally got back to it. You know how that goes right, lol. Take care, peace ✌️
Doing well man! Hope you are well too!
Blues and Rock: like, like... jet fighters and mirror shades, coffee and cigars, clotted cream and jam, rabbits and carrots... you're right it's harder than it looks ;) Nice video Brett, I'm not so bothered about learning this song but always like watching to see if there's any licks/tips that I should take on board.
There is always something! Thanks for checking it out!
I'd love it if you did the same treatment - 2 videos - for No Alibi from the same album. Lots of great lead lines, and a simple chord progression underneath.
For sure! Great song! I would love to do that whole album honestly! On the way soon!
Papa, would have any lesson about your particular approach to vibrato? I love your way to do this techinique.
Thanks! I believe so. Just type in vibrato in the search bar of the papastache102 channel page. If not maybe I can make a video soon.
papastache102 Ok. I found out the video. Thanks.
Also where did you get the Nashville guitar shirt🤙
Can't remember. Maybe Lucky?
totally agree its claptons best album.was so happy when i found out today that you have made a lesson on my favorit clapton song:)thanks papastache
Really good video. However, can someone please tell me what he does at 8:19 of the video? He just says "After that you've got..." and plays what I think is a hammer or pull off. Not sure though and he doesn't explain what he's doing exactly.
papa "nae" stache
Haha, got to change it up sometimes! Thanks for watching!
papastache102 summer is always a good time to ditch the face hair. I have a seasonal beard and summer is not the season.
so helpful. All the lead in the chorus is in A major?
Too much pick raking on the soloing. Its Clapton not Vaughn. The solos are cleanly picked soaring notes not struggling blues grinding.
Thanks Dustin. Just a habit of mine. Notes are the same though.
I swear Brett your guitar playing sounds better than Clapton, kudos.
Well I don't know about that haha but thanks for watching!
Great playing/teaching!! Any chance you could figure out the Robbie Robertson solos from Further on Up the Road, Last Waltz with EC? I can't quite get it ! Thanks!
Brett love yor lessons. Could you please tell me what amp you are playing thru.It sounds amazing.
Papa Patch then. Nice and cool! Good lesson. Like the new look. Bout time you came into the eighties. 😉
Really nice playing dude! You did a good job on this! Liked the video and subscribed. Please let me know what you think of my playing as well!
Awesome man! Thanks for the sub!
I wonder what version you're talking about. I've been listening to the EC recordings and can't find that first part, except with maybe the bass or keyboard.. On several vids, I don't see EC ( or Doyle or John Mayer, etc) doing it.
Are you talking about the little funk part? I suggest getting something where you can move the panning around. It's there. A great tool to hear what is going on on records is a program called riff station, its amazing for figuring stuff out.
Love the blues and classic rock…also Hendrix and Zeppelin lessons would be great but Clapton is my all time Favorite so keep it coming🎸🎶
Yeah I plan on doing more Clapton soon!
Look at that purple divided by 13 Sharp. Oh and great lesson. EC has so many great licks I’ve borrowed. I’ll give them back. 😉
Thanks! Thanks for watching!
Great lesson, sad about Greg Allman passing, you are up early today, you must of got up with the chickens. I like your shirt. GOD bless and stay strong. Peace and Happy Memorial Day !!!
Thanks! I like getting up early these days! The shirt is from Lucky. It is sad he passed, just got to see him play about 6 months ago he was awesome! Thanks for tuning in!
thak you brett!!!i love this song,i value so much your lessons, keep on rocking brother!!! but.... where is the mustache??????!!! jajaja
Thanks! Glad to hear you like the videos! Got to change up the look now and again haha! Thanks for watching!
I freaking love this song! I did not think there would be a good lesson on this. Thank you. Was just watching a documentary called Eric Clapton: standing at the crossroads and got inspired
Great tune! Thanks for checking out the video!
Brett! love this song. your a great teacher and kind soul. Also just learned Song for Sheryl off your Maj Penta lessons al post a link when i get it recorded YeeaaaaH .Peace .B
Awesome! Thanks for the kind words! Thanks for the support too people like yourself make all of the free videos possible!
Nice Brett !
(This may seem strange question but is 'papasatche pop' still you ? or has someone else bought that out? - I ask because I kept getting emails that seemed to be from you - but then just recently then got an email saying you 'were back' - but I had been seeing all these other emails from 'you' all the time anyway so just wondering what the score was.)
I can say this, papastache102 will be where I post all of my new videos. brett papa . com is my new website and any emails that are signed Brett Papa are from me. Thanks for watching!
Ok Brett, get the drift, thanks for the answer. Keep doing all the good stuff you do Bro, it's all appreciated. Thanks man.
Please do She's Waiting? I think it's a fairly easy one, but there is not a good lesson on it anywhere! TY
I'll check it out!
Thank you. You did an amazing job demonstrating how to play this great work.
Thanks! Glad I could help ya out!
Awesome. Thanks
Sure thing. Thanks for watching!
who the hell is this guy? ....lol
Some guy cracked me over the head and took over my studio!
Some of my favorite Clapton tones on that album.
Yeah everything about it is just good! Thanks for tuning in!
I'm pretty sure he plays through a wah pedal (and uses it) on this song.
Clapton really doesn't rake the string a la SRV like that. Just thought I'd let you know....
It's a habit of mine. I don't even notice it anymore.
Something's missing but I can't put my finger on it.
Haha!
Papastache great job =) eric clapton the best, saludos desde mexico, 🙏👍
Thanks man! Glad you liked it!
This is totally different that the Complete Clapton Book's transcription. However, it's the way Clapton plays it in videos. What gives .... lol ????
Haha, that is how I usually learn tunes. I just watch the person who played it lol! Tab books are very hit and miss usually.
where's your fancy moustache ?! :D
Rolled down my window in my car and that frickin' thing just flew right off!!! Haha, needed a little change.
I belive clapton use a wha pedal on the intro .....
I think so too. Didn't have one around for the video.
my strum chops needed this. Brain training.
Haha! Thanks for watching!
Anyone else think this song is very similar to going down by Freddie King?
Not sure, but i'll take it haha!
Freddie king was a massive influence on Clapton. I'm sure somewhere I read he was one of his biggest influences.
Great papastache :D great job
Thank ya!
Sweeeet! thanks sir ;-)
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
Excellent...-:))
Thanks!
