Kirby and DKC are straight up my favorite nintendo franchises. Also accidentally finding the SBB shortcut is way too relatable. I kept on accidentally getting it when I was *trying* to do it shortcut-less.
Nefariously redundant is absolutely hilarious. I love this review I just found your channel and subbed. Dkc and the rest of the Donkey Kong franchise are wonderful games
I just finished your kirby video and starting this one, all I can say is this is a _damn_ good channel. You're gonna spike in popularity soon, and I'm gonna watch that spike with great interest lol
Love the insightful, but approachable vibe of your narration. Looking forward to more work from you down the line, from DK to Kirby and beyond. Keep it up.
Just wanted to say your videos are amazing. Plus your accent is so incredibly intoxicating. Like melting a stick of butter and pouring its warm silky smoothness all over my eager ears. I can just savor the way you enunciate your words with a ever shifting interplay of expectancy and pointedness. Not sure what it is. Closest I can tell it is eitherJersey or Massachusetts. Maybe would wager on the latter but regardless it makes the experience of listening to your videos all the more enjoyable. Also, this is not your only video where you do it but the way you pronounce ruins as runes is also quite funny, lol! Goes with the pointed side of your pronunciation I guess :-)
Really like it when I find a small creator who has good production and content randomly. Just wanted to pay you a complement and say I'm for sure looking forwards to your DKC2 video. I'll also have to check out your Kirby video as well.
I'm not much of a platformer guy, but David Wise is my favorite video game composer. The vibes of this game are immaculate thanks to his breathtaking score. DKC2 gives us even more great tracks, and though he takes a break for DKC3 and Returns, at least he's back in full force in Tropical Freeze. Absolutely love the music in these games, and I'm so thankful a video like this exists for me to be able to fall in love with the experience without needing to playthrough the game myself.
I basically played through the entire game with DK. I preferred him to Diddy, but I did know people preferred Diddy lol! Wonderful video! The kirby one too was so good!
kirby and dkc are interesting contrasts. ive always felt like there’s a deliberate gradient of platformer difficulty from kirby > mario > donkey kong. and they’re all great depending on what you’re after :))
What a nostalgic and hilarious video! I've just discovered your channel by searching "Donkey Kong Country retrospective" and I'm glad I picked your video: you deserve many more subscribers, I'm now one of them 😄 The Super Smash Bros. part was such a funny touch 😂

For me all franchises I love them! I feel like none are bad.
11:52 You can actually jump after rolling off a platform, which is a pretty sick mechanic
Yeah it's quite nice especially in DKC2. It has a lot of range.
Playing this game will give you ultra instinct
Nefariously redundant is absolutely hilarious. I love this review I just found your channel and subbed. Dkc and the rest of the Donkey Kong franchise are wonderful games
I hope this channel really blows up. You deserve it!
By the way donkey Kong in the country games isn’t DK junior but the son of dk junior so that’s nice
Dang, how old is Mario and Pauline?
Is debatable if you ask the fine folks at DK Vine and in 64 Cranky calls him his son
the lore deepens
I like how thrilled he is that the walls have holes
dude you need more subscribers I love your content. Just watched kirby now this

donkey Kong 64 was my JAMMMM
but I had this on the color and it was great
First the kirby video and now this, you just earn a new subscriber, thanks for the great videos
@itoi is a wonderful hidden gem on YT. Loving all your content! Funny, insightful, and just a pleasure to watch. Thanks for doing what you do

I mean to say it in my original comment but if you don’t do radio already you really should consider it ;-)
Donkey Kong country cartoon is a masterpiece
Really like it when I find a small creator who has good production and content randomly. Just wanted to pay you a complement and say I'm for sure looking forwards to your DKC2 video. I'll also have to check out your Kirby video as well.
I appreciate it! I hope to dig into the whole DKC series and do it the justice it deserves.
Is Donkey Kong Country a Masterpiece? YES.
Holy crap your content is so high quality. You deserve more subs

DKC and DKC2 are my favorite platformers ever made, such masterpieces.
I basically played through the entire game with DK. I preferred him to Diddy, but I did know people preferred Diddy lol! Wonderful video! The kirby one too was so good!
Keep up the absolute quality content, these videos are really good and I’m excited to see more in the future
Man, I just watched your Kirby video and I already like your channel a lot, it's very charming
The Smash scene was so perfectly integrated into this video!!! Subscribed!
These videos are incredibly in depth and high quality, wishing you the best with your endeavors good sir.

Great video as usual! Loving your vids right now keep it up!
have you heard of Donkey Kong 2 Frozen Ape? you should def make a vid on that
I want him to do hogans castle instead of a dk video imo
how do you not have as many subs like bruh
What a nostalgic and hilarious video! I've just discovered your channel by searching "Donkey Kong Country retrospective" and I'm glad I picked your video: you deserve many more subscribers, I'm now one of them 😄
The Super Smash Bros. part was such a funny touch 😂
Great video and review but how can anyone play a DKC game more than once and not use the roll at all? Also I'm waiting for a DKC2 review.
8:48 You're telling me Nintendo put a dev path in an official game!? Maybe we're too hard on Mario Maker creators
I got a childhood friend who I still get together and play DKC and Crash Bandicoot with. Best Platformers ever 👌
My first dk game was returns, I remember the first time I played it like it was yesterday
Fear Factory is the best stage. Change my mind.
Lol the way he turns into video game dunkey in the green water level
This content is so good! Keep it up!~~
You should do a review of Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. I felt like I was a kid playing DKC again when I played it
I’ve heard good things about that game. I’ll definitely try it out!
Yes.
Wait, that's a vulture? I always thought it was like... An ostrich.
Bravo.
Good video dude 👍
How does your channel only have 799 subs man
Yes
Will you ever do a review on Donkey Kong Country Returns?
I hope to soon! I’m still getting the things I need to capture Wii games and Returns is one of the main reasons.
BANANAAAAAAAAA SLAMAAAAAAA!!!!!!
Note: Our DK is actually DK III
Can YOH make a review of yojr own game eartbound because you made it
22:41 spotted a jojo reference
おいドンキーコング、バナナを取ってこい〜!
The fact that you don't have more subscribers should be considered a crime against the state.
Which state? I dunno, but it's a crime against one of em
California?
@@Dave_The_Musical_Fisherman yeah let's go with that
Will you do Punch Out as well?
I would love to! I’m still working on getting a solid set up for Wii titles, but punch out is definitely on my list.
@@ITOI awesome. The Speed Racer Video Game needs recognition as well in my opinion. I would recommend it!
Great video and analysis dude! Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the distracting side-bars.
17:44 dunkey Kong country
Take my subscribr
Yes it is. Bye.
OOOAOAAOAOAOAOAAAAA
DONKEY KONG DECEMBER
The only DKC game I played was Tropical Freeze. I didn't like it, so I gave up on the entire genre. No more 2d mario or DKC games for me.
Original DKC games are a master piece. The new DKC games are horrible.
No, no it is not
Yes, yes it is.
@@shibbyguy101 Agreed. Anybody who hates the DKC games is an idiot
