I have the Black limited edition, since almost 3 years ago and 28000km. The best bike ever. I've ridden lots of bikes, even now I own 3 more (2 Indians and 1 MV Agusta), and the Rocket is the best of the bunch. Last summer I did 5500 km in 7 days on the Italian coast. No back hurt, no butt hurt, no arms hurt - I have no words to praise it enough...
The quick shifter is a no brainer, great value and great fun for the money. Also compared to my Harley Ultra the Rocket does not put out anywhere near the engine heat. I have over 80,000 miles on my 2020 GT now and when it wears out I will be getting another Rocket. Great review, thanks.
@@jimanders9971 I’m sorry. I owe you an apology. Maybe for you it is simple but i really don’t understand. With a video about a tiger who starts talking about his hamster?
Now with 6,000km on my R3R Storm...yes, hell yes! Bonus, a 2 in 1, a naked bruiser, or with its mid sized windscreen, hand guards, saddlebags, and heated grips, a credible tourer. A real triumph by Triumph. Great review!
First time I test rode one, I described the experience as like riding a Racing Elephant. I eventually bought a Suzuki B-King, which I loved, but often wonder...
So glad Triumph made this bike , i traded a 2020 Gsxr1000r for a Rocket 3r no regrets .The styling is superb and its power puts a smile on my face every time i ride it .The quickshifter is ok no where near as smooth as my prevoius bike , the tft could have been a bit bigger but overall this bike should be test ridden and im sure it would surprise a lot of folks .
Nice review & a great bike. What an entertaining beast. A uniquely bonkers proposition & thank goodness Triumph made it! I can totally see the appeal but my twig legs would snap in half just looking at it lol.
I was amazed by how docile the bike was in town. But when you needed the power on the open road, it certainly was a thoroubred! I'll have to test ride one!
Sure, I saw they've moved away from Avon now on this update. There is nothing wrong with Avon tyres though imo. They just stopped making tyres for the Rocket 3.
@@carlh5118 I like those too but I would love to have a longitudinal engine like the old Indian 4, the Triumph Rocket, the Honda CX500, ect. Preferably something in line like the first two I mentioned.
@@raptorzn Making another version AND keeping this one too has nothing to do with compromising the point of this bike. Your narrow-mindedness is showing.
I'd like to have a go of one but the weight would put me off wanting to own one. Even at 67, I can still manage to push my Suzuki 1000 V twin up the ramp into my garage, albeit with a slight runup, or pick it up if it topples over, perhaps through carelessness with the sidestand. With this bike, I'd need the help of two neighbours. I met a guy some years ago, of the age I am now, and he'd installed a turntable in his garage for his Rocket 3. That's just silly.
Idk I need to see it has a responsive non delayed throttle before even consider it. Most new bikes feel so disconnected compared to what I’m used to I almost can’t get along with them. Every new bike I’ve demoed I couldn’t get off fast enough
I just picked up a ‘23 R3 which has the throttle by wire. My other bike has a throttle cable (as have all my past bikes) and the throttle of the R3 is absolutely instantaneous. No latency at all, it’s mind-blowing how quickly it responds.
Looks great and if you wait for a previous years model or on occasion 2 year old but unsold for almost $8,000 off. Same for the speed triple RR 2023 model near me is over $5k off. So a long way of saying, no it’s not worth it.
Seeing some 2023 GTs going for 18k brand new. I don’t thing I need the extra power and like the blackout, but don’t care enough to pay more for a 2024 or 25. May take the plunge on a 23
My 2022 Rocket 3R 221 (red) is perfect for me. Don’t like all the black. ECU flash from BHP-UK and it’s now 200bhp. 60% throttle restriction gone and so has the torque limiters, and top speed restrictions. BHP-UK have made this a better bike in every way and better than this “Storm” version
The Rocket is nice, but at over 25 grand, Triumph is losing their minds. Surely, these will be severely discounted to sell. Especially in this economy.
Try to design one, even half, then manufacture it and market it. Then we’ll see who looses his mind. I just did. I bought one. The most reasonable thing to do.
As much as I admire Triumph's engineering and what they've achieved with the Rocket 3, the butcher's apron in the logo mean it's a no from me, and that applies to their entire range.
@curveofsound so you've spent more money on the storm and then you get it mapped so it produces the same power as a mapped gt ! Why Unless you just want the right to say 'I've got a storm'
worth? no. euro5+ is limitation, revving on neutral is not possible. maybe other limitations. difference between 165 and 180hp /221Nm and 224 Nm is not markable. allblacks are good for new zealand rugby team but not for motorcycle. i stay by my gt.

Unlike Harley, where you have to put thousands of dollars into it to get any power out of it, the Rocket is raring to go once bought and payed for it.
