Hi David, I was fortunate to sail aboard Corozòn (neé “Kawabunga!”) in 2006 or so. My wife and I had previously lived happily aboard 2 Flickas in succession, an old ferro version in FL and a nicely home finished PS hull/deck version in Olympia in the 90s. Around 2006-7 I was able to convince the then owner to put that ProFurl on there, which pretty much changed everyone’s life overnight! We just encountered Corozón at Arabellas dock last week, and just stood there and drooled, basically. Such lovely memories, thank you for the video! Fair winds, Mike Phillips
Hi Mike, I love that you have a history with Corazon “Kawabunga” she’s a beautiful little sailboat! Thanks for talking the owner into roller furling, I can’t imagine single handing and hanking on my headsail anymore. Living on a Flicka must have been pretty special. Thanks for watching my channel.
@@leonrinehart7948 Good morning Leonine, PCS built incredible sailboats. I so happy that I finally own one! I’m looking forward to many adventures on Corezon in the PNW. Thanks for tuning into my channel.
@@leecowell8165 Hi Lee, Corazon isn’t only cute it’s unbelievable how beautifully she sails, plus I’m really enjoying the comfort down below in the cabin. After cruising for nine seasons in a 17’ sailboat it’s a treat moving up into the Pacific Seacraft World!
@@936anyst good evening, thanks for watching my channel. Where are you located down here? Just went for a perfect sail this afternoon. The Flicka is a pleasure to sail.
Hi David, I love your video, I really do.. One of the best sail boat videos I have ever seen. A well balanced embodiment of simplicity and aesthetics.. Beautiful music, soothing images.. And the sparsely emerging voice of the narrator (yours I assume) compliments the story perfectly. Amazing really. Congratulations & best wishes from the Aegean Sea.. 👋
@@ufukozbir649 Hi Ufuc from the Salish Sea. Thank you for watching and sending me an uplifting message. I really love when someone watches my videos and takes the time to comment. Bruce Bingham got it right when he designed the Flicka!..I cruised singlehanded in a homebuilt Flicka in the Western Pacific for 6 years 1976 to 1982. Fabulous time of my life.
David, I have been waiting for this video. Happy for you brother, its gonna be a great sailing Summer. I was up there in 2022 and just fell in love with area. Fair winds.
@@paulmadruga9786 Hi Paul, I’ve been a little slow putting videos out this year. That’s about to change now that I’m making a few trips on Corazon. Thank for watching my channel.
She looks great David! Just had my Norseboat in Long Beach for a couple of days and talked to a guy I actually met 2 years ago on my last overnight in Long Beach with my Scamp who has a Flicka. He got his boat in the San Francisco area and spent a few weeks sailing it down to Southern California. He attends and helps out at the wooden boat show in your area every year. Going to get me M-17 in the water soon to see if I have stopped the leak into the cabin. Fingers crossed.
She looks super pretty. Like the dodger and the rub rail! Not sure how I’ll get mine all the way up coast to PT and Puget Sound… but sure would love to sail your ‘hood.!
@@christopherstevenson9737 Hi Christopher, I’ve never had a dodger, it’s really nice to have one up here. The PNW is a great place to sail. If you make it north you’ll enjoy one of the best cruising ground in the U.S and Canada. Thanks for tuning into my channel.

Hi Liam, I think I’d be very comfortable on an extended voyage. It would be nice to have the Flicka with the enclosed head if I planned to live on her for several months. My other sailboat is 17’ and I did several days (20+) cruising in the PNW and was very comfortable.
