I once finish cooking my Sabbath lunch shortly before sunset on Friday, I did not put it in the fridge, I prayed God to keep it from spoiling and he did, besides it's best to have a raw food meal of fruits and veggies on Sabbaths
Remember that Genesis is the foundation for truth
i am not an adventist but i noticed how extensive the sabbath commandment was compared to the other nine and i deduced that it merited extensive consideration. i then tried to honor the sabbath and realized, like all divine instructions, i.e. love thy neighbor, i could not and only with God's help could i improve and discover the spiritual aspects beyond the physical efforts. i read that adam was created on the sixth day which means his very first was spent resting meaning his first job was to rest in God. i loved your teaching on God's creation of air, water and food for man. you left out that the darkness came first and each day was evening then morning like the light shining into the darkness, like salvation entering after sin. i loved your repeated reference to God as creator and you touched on that only He is creator. i would add that man cannot create anything, he can only alter the shapes of what God created. as science says - matter cannot be created or destroyed. you mentioned we should not cook on sabbath but can eat sandwiches made before which reminded me of the mana in the wilderness who they were required to collect only a day's ration except before the sabbath it was two days and it did not rot. your focus on the importance of remembering our dependence on God is perfect. you helped me realize it was Jesus speaking creation into existence. you helped me understand how Abel was demonstrating his need for Christ and His blood by his sacrifice and Cain was opposing this truth and both knew the lesson their parents received by God's rejection of the works of their hands to cover their shame and replacement with innocent blood. i learned a lot from your exposition of Lucifer's qualities as being as close to God as possible and his deceiving into doubting God's word. you left out his bodily musical pipes and all that that entails in our entertainment worshiping society. you did a great job on one of my favorite books of the Bible, i learned a lot and understand a lot more and purpose to obey more. thank you.

Hi Pastor, I enjoyed the info you have given in "In-Depth Study of the Book of Genesis/Part 2 by Pr Randy Skeete (EP.9 of 9).
In regards to Genesis Chapter 1 I think there needs to be more clarifying. Also there seems to be some mix up with tradition generally.
The first point is that the words Heaven and Earth are not used in the Bible in the same way they are popularly used today. In the 2nd creation day we are told that God turned the mid-section of the water mentioned in verse 2 into a firmament that God named Heaven. What is the substance that this firmament is made of? If we go to the 5th day we see that WINGED fowl FLY in the FIRMAMENT of HEAVEN. This is the only definition of Heaven given in the whole Bible. No other heavens were made by God. What Paul said about a 3rd heaven could only have been some cultural thing in the east Mediterranean region as the Bible does not talk about the creation of more heavens with the exception of the remaking of our present heaven at the end of the 1000 years. Clearly, since fowl fly in it Heaven is only the AIR or the ATMOSPHERE.
We now have an upper layer of water, Heaven/the Atmosphere, a lower layer of water and then the land. If we go back to verse 2 we see that deep, dark water covers all the land, which is referred to as the Face of the Deep. Water can only be DEEP if there is land down below the surface of the water. The land that God wanted to put Adam and Eve on was under this water so He had to do something about this water. This is what verse 1 is telling us, that God had to make AIR to breathe and DRY land to live on BEFORE He made any life form. On the 3rd day God made Seas. A sea has to have a basin so obviously God had put basins in the Face of the Deep. The lower layer of water automatically flowed into these basins leaving the surrounding land above the water level at last! The atmosphere/Heaven dried out this land and God called the DRY land, Earth. So it is the DRY CONDITION of the land that appeared 6000 years ago, not our planet.
So the word Earth does not refer to our whole planet and the word Heaven does not refer to the Universe or where God's throne is. Since the 1st day of creation has an EVENING then it is obvious that the sun, hence the universe, already existed. There are more implications to do with the above that can be discussed, but let me move onto what this video discusses. However, let me say that EGW clearly says that God put Adam and Eve on this planet to replace the fallen angels. Also there is no mention in Genesis of the water and the land being made. Our planet was already here.
In regards to the light of the 1st day keep in mind that the Apostle Paul said (2Cor 4:6)that the new light God made on that day came from the DARKNESS in the Deep water of verse 2. This light didn't come from God or directly from the sun. However, if you compare the 1st day with the 4th day you can see that there is some relationship between the two days. So it would appear that God had done something to affect the sunlight. Apparently this is the creation of the Visible Light Spectrum? Notice in verse 2 that the Darkness was DOWN near the BOTTOM of the water (the SURface of the Deep). So the sunlight was right next to the darkness that the new light came from.
Taken as it reads in Genesis Chapter 1, all 3 members of the Godhead were active in the creation events of Genesis. "Let US make man in OUR image...". If we go to John 1:3 "All things were made by him; and WITHOUT him was not any thing made that was made. " This is saying that ALL 3 members of the Godhead were active in not only the Genesis creation event, but also in the creation of the universe. Nothing was made without Jesus being involved as well.
IMPORTANT QUESTION Now Jesus Himself asked questions... Mat 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, WHO DO MEN SAY THAT I THE SON OF MAN AM? :14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. :15 He saith unto them, BUT WHOM DO YOU SAY THAT I AM? Peter said Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The important point that Peter had stated was that Christ was God. To be the Messiah that could save humanity Jesus had to be God in the FLESH in order to take the punishment for the breaking of His life-giving law. He couldn't just be some nice guy who does some heroic deeds, He had to be God and everyone must know this. This is what John 1:1-3, 14, Col 1:15-17 and Hebrews 1:3, 8-10 are all saying... JESUS IS GOD. Notice that Jesus referred to Himself as the Son of MAN. Although Jesus was in fact God, He lived ONLY as a human being that was totally dependent on God as we are.
All these texts and others that you, Pr Skeet, had mentioned are NOT saying that Jesus was the ONLY member of the Godhead to do any creating, but rather Jesus was God and to be God then one must be able to create, which is what you have said.

Also God can exist in and outside of time God is not bound by time - so it is possible that God blessed the Sabbath outside of time
God rested on the sabbath and blessed it. Keeping sabbath rest there is a blessing. They are one and the same. I don’t believe the word is saying the blessing comes after 24 hours of rest. There is a blessing on the sabbath through rest and communion with God. Diet is dependent on where one lives ideal or non ideal area.

"If Sunday not of God" - The Bible already says that Saturday (Sabbath) is to be remembered and kept Holy (Exodus 20:8), not Sunday, which is the first day of the week. You need no other proof. Keep trusting in Him and remember to keep the Sabbath Holy. You are in all our prayers!

A comparison between the laws given to the Israelites by moses in the desert and the Sermon on the mountain by Jesus.
Pastor, by extending your reasoning, creation began in the evening. The evening and the morning were the first, second, etc., day. So the institution of the Sabbath began at evening. So the act of consecration is first a verbal act then a physical act.
If the sanctification of the Sabbath was as a result of the act of resting, then for marriage, intimacy would have to take place first and the blessing/sanctification would follow

When God created Jesus Christ and called him his son, God being a SPIRIT was now able to manifest his spirit in his son. His spirit got inside his son and did all the powerful works. So when God resurrected his son on the third day it was a GLORIFIED body that went back to HEAVEN and not a flesh and blood body like ours. Before he was crucified he had a body like us but not after he rose, although to the eyes it appeared that way. When Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was resurrected, they did not have to open the door for him. He appeared in the room where they were . A flesh and blood body cannot appear in a room without the door is opened to you.
I have a question- IF God rested on the Sabbath and gave the a sabbath blessing. Jesus healed the cripple and told him to stand up and walk-

No. He rested, or ceased from His labor, or finished His work, and blessed the day on the day He ceased His work, which is the Seventh day. He wasn't tired. He didn't need to wait until Sunday when the Sabbath institution existed before the creation of the Earth. My God is not limited to time space or matter. Prov 30:5,6

Gen 1:5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. How do you get 24 hrs = 1 day from this verse? Should it be 24hrs = ! day and 1 night?
I mean why is it that nobody will say it's a Christmas tree!? What was being described is what we do on the false holiday of Christmas but all the Adventists seem to love Christmas so he glosses over!!!! So frustrating!

On the 7th day- God rested, blessed and sanctified the sabbath day on the 7th day. It does not say He blessed the 7th day the next day (first day of the week) in the scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15:50 I tell you brothers and sisters that no flesh can inherit the kingdom of God. God is not flesh and blood, he once was, but he now spirit! It would be a sin for God to be flesh and blood???
