The sewer in me cringed with all the fabric you wasted, but was so gratified by your relaxed presentation and the obvious pleasure you took in sharing this that my 'use every scrap wisely ' soul will deal with the sacrifice. Thank you.
This is a great idea very cute....I really like the polka dots and stripes together....and I like the way you did the liner you can take it off and wash it if you need to.... maybe you could spray paint the box or tape computer paper to the sides to hide the image before covering with fabric.
Stop saying that she talks to much she's trying to make sure you don't screw up and she's going very in depth but I think it's very helpful that she talked a lot!
I wish people would just go to another video and keep it to themselves. If they are worried about wasting time then don't spend the few minutes commenting negatively.
Thanks for posting. I was planning to purchase the covered baskets as storage for my shelving unit. I love this idea! For those who would like to use a lighter fabric without the design showing through, carefully take the box apart and turn it so the pictured side is on the inside. Glue or tape the box back together and voila you have a blank box to cover with no pictures or designs showing through your fabric. I do this all the time when reusing boxes for mailing.
I was thinking you could also spray paint the boxes first (black maybe to hide the picture or white if the paint was thick enough - maybe a primer spray paint if there is such a thing) to hide the picture before putting the fabric on.
I have been looking for ideas for my empty diaper boxes. This is perfect. I need storage boxes for my son. I'm so glad I found your channel. Thank you so much.
This is a great idea. Thanks for sharing. Just one suggestion... get straight to the point. Way too much talking makes the viewer lose interest. The viewer should never have to fast forward to get to the important points.
Mara Santillan great idea for more of a vintage look.. Joann is great with coupons I can get fabric for less than $2 a yard in spoon many options . both places are great ideas
I watched your video a couple of times to make sure I got the instructions right, THEN I tried and I have to say I did it loved it my box came out pretty nice I will not buy those strorage boxes anymore! I wish I could show it to you so you can see, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this tutorial. I save all boxes that I receive from deliveries. I have made a few to organize my sewing room not to mention the kids rooms :) Just want to mention that if someone chooses a light fabric they can paint the box white first. JoAnns sells small bottles of acrylic paint for around $2 and sponge brushes too. Have Fun, I Did
Uh oh....you've given me WAY too good of an idea! This is an AWESOME use for empty diaper boxes. We are expecting our first (a little girl) in four weeks, and although we will be cloth diapering, I am a nanny of a six month old who goes through lots of diapers, so I asked if I could take their diaper boxes off their hands. I plan on doing this for our little girl's nursery, our entry closet, our closet, etc! These are just so nice and so easy/cheap. I figure if I make a template for how to cut the fabric, it will make it very quick and easy - I could even make all the parts before receiving more boxes that way once I get them, I can easily turn them into a fabric-lined bin in just minutes. I really love how the liner could be taken out and washed if it gets dirty on the inside (as all bins seem to do in our house with two dogs). I will probably pre-wash all the liner fabric just to make sure it doesn't shrink if I wash it. Thanks, Vicky! - Sarah
As soon as I saw this one; my mind went nuts thinking about all the different areas in my house I could use these for storage. I just had a new grandson born and have another grandson and granddaughter on the way. I will have these boxes available in abundance. Such a great idea :)
you can also spray paint the box white so that you cant see the image of the diaper box and that way you can use lighter fabric. also you can use adhesive spray so the fabric can stay smooth over the box. great project to recycle diaper box and old fabric like a dress or oversize shirts. thanks
Wow , I like it. Last week I bought 10 boxes from Dollar 3 for organizing my stuff. Now ai watched this video, I will try to make like that. Thanks for your good Idea.
If you want to use light colored fabrics, spray paint the box white. Spray paint dry's fast so it doesn't effect the cardboard in any way. Spray in light coats and let dry thoroughly if you are going to do a second coat. Let dry thoroughly before adding your fabric. xoxo from Arizona.
Omg... Your video made my day I have a rack and was going to buy storage boxes that would fit and I just bought my baby diapers and the box is perfect for my rack now I don't have to throw it away thank you
Awesome tutorial... I have a friend with twin babies I'm sure she has a couple boxes laying around... I don't have a joann fabric store but we have hobby lobby and they always have coupons!!
Thanks for this video. Gave me lots of ideas. Free boxes are good, but I have lots of bankers boxes that I store craft stuff in. And they come flat! And they have covers! And they stack! And they don't cost much! Maybe you can use excess material to make other craft stuff?
good idea, i don't have boxes, but i imagine if you want a lighter fabric you can just paint the box white or glue white cardstock to it first, that way you have more fabric options
Very nice. Just a suggestion to iron out the creases in the fabric before applying to the box for a smoother tighter/snug fit - spray starch will help to stiffen the fabric.
I am so glad that i found this i am going to add some pockets and use it as a car caddy for m van i will post pics of the finished product thanks so much
If you don't like the loose fabric on the inside you can just put glue in the corners and edges and "tuck" the fabric in. Or, you can keep it loose so you can wash the fabric.
Instead of buying fabric you could use tops that you don't want to throw away but don't fit you I am going to try using my clothes today hopefully it goes well
Awesome Idea!! I also have used old bed sheets that i no longer use around the house! and also nice printed wrapping paper that i got for really cheap right after Christmas.
I apologe about the iron on backing! It took thinking cuz it has been a while? This is fabric backing, iron onto cut ready to cover boxes, paper side out. will adhere to your fabric. Ready to pjt on box, peel paper off. Will see coating on back of your fabric and also increase some thickness, Apply to box as instructed in videos. Use to add block to thinner fabrics. Grat for getting curtains weight so hang better, Pillows, bed end trows, use on most DIYs to add form an# easier use of most fabrics! Can also make inexpensive fabrics last longer! Go ahead use fabric glue and hem tape afterF, I apologize my simple step turned into a book?
Such an adorable idea and very cheap, too bad i throw out all my diaper boxes.I might have to go to home depot just to purchase one to try this out. LOL. :)
Thanks for sharing! I always reuse my diaper boxes to store things around the house. When they get beat up, I trash them. But this is a great idea to make them last longer and be used for the kids room. BTW, I prefer Luvs over Huggies. After trying all the diaper lines out there, my favorite was Honest but it's too expensive. The next in line, and a winner for us is Walmart's Parent Choice line.
I'm glad I came across this video. I have 2 diaper boxes that I was just getting ready to throw out. I have YARDS of fabric and will be doing this project soon.
People are suggesting layers of fabric or cardboard to hide image, just paint it. Any paint will do, left over house paint. I would use gesso because I have it, then you can put any fabric you like.
This is a good idea i have done this like almost 15 may be more years ago when i was in 8th grade. I used fan boxes. N i made toy boxes by applying gift paper. But i like ur idea 2
Cute idea. Cheaper and cuter than buying those old plastic storage containers. You have a real handsome dog! What's his (her) name? I enjoyed your video because it wasn't perfect. More for the average person who just wants it done instead of waiting around until you feel like you have time for all that measuring, cutting, sewing, etc. Thanks
The sewer in me cringed with all the fabric you wasted, but was so gratified by your relaxed presentation and the obvious pleasure you took in sharing this that my 'use every scrap wisely ' soul will deal with the sacrifice. Thank you.
Im a quilter, and a longarmer so I have sooooo much fabric. Can't wait to make these. Thanks!

This is a really nice idea! There are so many cute fabrics to choose from.
Marguerite Farrell thank you so much!
I use the longer flaps for inside on the bottom. Gives more stability. Great video!
Great tip, thank you!!!

Trudy Clarke Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope yoou have fun with the project!

Great diy. Thank you. I know I will be collecting my daughter's diaper boxes from my grandson
I love this...For cheaper fabric I go to my thrift store and I get curtains or actual fabric pieces and it is way more cheap :)
Mara Santillan great idea for more of a vintage look.. Joann is great with coupons I can get fabric for less than $2 a yard in spoon many options . both places are great ideas
Yeah, a few of my thrift stores have an Outlet side where you buy by the pound so it makes it even cheaper. 🤑
I watched your video a couple of times to make sure I got the instructions right, THEN I tried and I have to say I did it loved it my box came out pretty nice I will not buy those strorage boxes anymore! I wish I could show it to you so you can see, thanks for sharing.

Awesome tutorial... I have a friend with twin babies I'm sure she has a couple boxes laying around... I don't have a joann fabric store but we have hobby lobby and they always have coupons!!
Awesome!! Sounds like you have a plan!! So glad you can make this idea work for you!!
You could fold the flaps in instead of cutting them off to reinforce the sides more..just an idea. Thanks for posting!!
TOO bulky. her way is more professional looking.
I used to paint my boxes, when I had babies...they are all grown up, now xxx
Thanks for this video. Gave me lots of ideas. Free boxes are good, but I have lots of bankers boxes that I store craft stuff in. And they come flat! And they have covers! And they stack! And they don't cost much! Maybe you can use excess material to make other craft stuff?
I love your channel and you make cool crafts
Thanks for showing how to do this! I'm a beginning sewer too. A tip that might help you is to iron the fabric. It makes it look more professional.
TFS You made this look so simple and i loved the material
Helen Roberts Thank you so much for watching! xo
So cute! (We have an 18-month old granddaughter!) Tip: you can always use interfacing to keep the image on the box from showing...
Super cute n I love the way you explain it. Will be making a few for my expecting baby to place on her changing table. 💟💟💟💟💟
The end result was very nice thank you.
BTW, I love this. Anyone know where I can find some diaper boxes. Perfect size.

LondonDiorChase Thank you so much I hope you enjoy making them!! xo
How did you come up with the number of 15 for the measurement? Did you measure the walls of the box from top to bottom?
good idea, i don't have boxes, but i imagine if you want a lighter fabric you can just paint the box white or glue white cardstock to it first, that way you have more fabric options
cool

Very nice. Just a suggestion to iron out the creases in the fabric before applying to the box for a smoother tighter/snug fit - spray starch will help to stiffen the fabric.

If you don't like the loose fabric on the inside you can just put glue in the corners and edges and "tuck" the fabric in. Or, you can keep it loose so you can wash the fabric.

Oh my goodness what a great idea! I didn't even think about that ! Thank you for sharing that!
Or....old jeans or pre-pasted wallpaper for the box, with a pretty fabric liner (like in the video)

I love your hair!!!!!!!! I want it so bad!😍😩
+Szofi Suba Thank you!
How do you know what size fabric you need for the inside of the box?
This is beautiful, I love this . Perhaps if a fabric is to light, they could spray paint the box white???
I apologe about the iron on backing! It took thinking cuz it has been a while? This is fabric backing, iron onto cut ready to cover boxes, paper side out. will adhere to your fabric. People are suggesting layers of fabric or cardboard to hide image, just paint it. Any paint will do, left over house paint. I would use gesso because I have it, then you can put any fabric you like.
Really nice! Will be making some with my daugther's toy sewing machine lol :)
Nice idea.Maybe using also double sided tape instead of sewing and cut the fabric with pinking shears to have nice edges.
szandria van huffel Thank you so so much for these great tips!!
great idea... you could actually put a coat of paint on the box as well, if you want to use lighter or thinner materials.
Thank you for the tip that's a great idea
Use to back paper to. Ask 1st in case better way to nack papers used?
omg i just love it def will make it
Que belleza..!!
How did you make the liner?
if u want a harder sturdy box use flour water and salt and with newspaper they use it for pinatas.

What a wonderful idea! Thank you for sharing!
Very good ideas
Thank you
This is a good idea i have done this like almost 15 may be more years ago when i was in 8th grade. I used fan boxes. N i made toy boxes by applying gift paper. But i like ur idea 2
The dog left when u grabbed the glue gun. I laughed SO hard!!

excellent work
Thanks for this! I didn't use diaper boxes but it's cool
Or paint the box with White House paint flat or gesso then use whatever fabric you want.
