I've seen quite a few tutorials about turning cardboard boxes into storage bins but they all are done in 10 minutes or so. The thing is that this one is so neat and clean and pretty that now I'm convinced to really go that extra step to get the final product. I loved it!

I was thinking the same thing. I love that this is longer and more explanatory. I appreciate that she took extra time.
Heck, people can *ALWAYS* fast-forward is they are impatient!
      Haha!!!

Are you familiar with Mod Podge? I'm wondering if you could use that instead of the Crafters Glue. I just happen to have that on hand.

Five years later..... this is STILL the best tutorial on how to cover a box with fabric. I've made quite a few boxes due to this video. People can't believe it's handmade. Thank you!

  • @christiedecker2724

I started watching a link for fabric-covered boxes, but the boxes used new materials, not recycled boxes. I've been looking at others that might use recycled boxes, because I like to reuse, reduce, recycle instead of putting money out to buy 'new'. This is a very neat and clean looking box tutorial. I found that there are circles for the boxes online (curtain grommets) so will be ordering some, in the meantime, I may be making some smaller boxes as well, and don't really need circles for them...good practice. I will, however, be making lids on them, so will be using the flaps for that so that I can stack them in my closet and craft space. Thank you for these great hints, tips and ideas. Blessings. February 5, 2023.

Beautiful job, Clarice. In America, we call your outer and inner pieces - Poster Board. Cardboard is much thicker, like what the box is made of. Also, it's an excellent way to cover all our Amazon boxes we get in the mail.

These are lovely and you did an amazing job. The main issue I have with these bins is you usually have to remove them from the shelf to access the contents, assuming they will be put on a shelf. Do you have an idea of how I can make these enclosed with an attached lid that hinges on the front top? That way you just pull the bottom of the front panel up to open it and everything is accessible from the front rather than removing the whole bin and accessing it from the top? I want it to be completely enclosed to keep the dust out. It's also easier in my opinion, to remove items from the front than the top, unless they're in the back behind a bunch of other things. I have a few ideas but yours seem so professional and maybe you have some ideas.

    • @notebookluvr
      @notebookluvr 3 роки тому

Actually, I've been thinking and I think a hinge on the bottom would work better so you don't have to hold it open, it could just hang down. Maybe a lip on the bottom as well, about an inch high, but I haven't figured out whether or not that's better or not. I totally understand why engineers get paid well to develop products. There are so many aspects involved to achieve a great finished result.

I finally seen a professional do a project. I really enjoyed watching this demo. I will try this one. Great job. One question I wonder if you could use spray glue.

From a craft perspective it's great. But for me, it's a little timely and costly to make this especially with prices the way they are at fabric stores. Still, they are very nice indeed.

      Hi Shandia
I buy my cardboard at Dollar Tree, they are not too thick.
If you have any question let me know.
      Thanks.

Hello! This tutorial is very useful. You have a big talent! (I want to help). Just for the others you can make shorter videos. Not everybody has that much time watching. I know you want to show it step by step, but you can speed the vid...of course this is my opinion. Again amazing and interesting tutorial. It turned out great 👍🏻. I will definitely try it! Have a nice day 😀

Thank you for sharing this clear and pleasant tutorial, your boxes are lovely! I am looking around for pretty boxes to organise my house and they are so expensive and not always in the right sizes, I will try this! May I ask you if you used a specific glue, or if any kind of glue like the one that kids use at school for their craft projects can do? I live in Italy so do not have the same brands. Muito obrigada!

      Good morning Blue Jay!
Welcome to the channel my dear!
I am very happy that I could inspire you in some way.
The glue that I use is this kind that kids use in school project, simple white glue.
Thank you very much and if you have any question , please let me know.
Blue Jay, I am sending another video with some tricks to make the job easier, if you want to take a look.
