YES, YES, YES - for me, insoles were one of the items I didn't know I needed until I tried them. I'm using non-moldable ones and I would never go back. My shoes even came with 3 different arch supports and the aftermarket ones were better for me. I'm definitely interested in seeing the molding process for the Lake ones - they look more substantial than my current insoles.
I didn't have any issues with the shoes to start with, but it took comfort to another level 🙂

Exactly that's what a good insole will do. Were these Pearl Izumi/Shimano shoes? I think their insoles come with those arch inserts.

They're the Giro Empire ACC with the Super feet hockey insoles. I used to play hockey and these were the hockey insoles....so of course I use them for cycling 😁

I find that with my Sidi shoes, they have crap insoles, but they're made with that specific insole in mind. Most every after market insole (moldable or not) are too thick to substitute for the OEM insole

well that sux! But it's mainly because Sidi are very narrow shoes and low volume.

What brand of shoes do you recommend for people who need something more narrow and low volume? Lake makes a nice shoe but would never work for my feet.

I don’t know what to tell you. Lake has SO many lasts and sizes that I am without a suggestion if they don’t work for you. I sell hundreds of Lake shoes throughout the year for people with feet all shapes and sizes. Albeit, many are wider feet not narrow feet like yourself. But the Race last is the one that should work for you.

I've got narrow long feet, size 12 US, 13 in running shoes. I used to ride Sidi's, but a couple of years ago swapped to Specialized. I was size 46.5 or 47 (with BG insole) in the Sidi's. With S7 - size 46 with BG insole and Ares - 46.5 with G8 insole. Both are great shoes but the S7 is more form fitting for my foot. The G8 insole takes up a little more volume than the BG insole, and the G8 button is definitely more pronounced, On the G8's I use the biggest arch (#5) and the highest button.

Thanks Pete - yep that might work. I’m not a fan of Sidi so I don’t recommend them - they are over priced, fit weird and are over rated
