Yeah - I love that part - like from Ole Yellar or Lassie - crack me up. I love these folks - who the hell gives them a thumbs down? Anyone who does should instantly be pulverized and disappear in a puff of smoke (while contributing $20 to the channel).

Doug, Ashley great job which shows your persistence and ingenuity. I was one of the subscribers who recommended a wedge. It appeared to me in the video that your bar was pinched by the tree.
Regardless if you have an electric or gas chainsaw it is what is best for you as the user. I use my Husqvarna 42 inch mower like a little bush hog and it works great. I admit I have to sharpen/replace my blades often when I do this. I have areas similar to you that are thick with brush that are 2 to 3 inches thick. It is so thick that I can't move around safely with my chainsaw. I then use my reciprocating saw. I use a mulching/ pruning blade. Please keep up the great work. Don't worry about what others think, your persistence and dedication will pay off in the end.

It never fails to amaze me how heavy wood can be ... as far as comments: take what fits and leave the rest ... cutting to the chase, any outright meanness or nastiness isn't worth your time and energy ... however, I think more often than not, folks make suggestions or critiques with the best intentions; but you are ones on site and make the final decisions ... just keep doing what you are doing but with a hefty amount of caution ... everyone starts somewhere and you guys are doing great ... and sometimes you can get some really good advice. Amazed to see how that old mower cut through those high weeds. Who knew you were going to give new life to a mower with the heart of a Bush Hog; also, I now have a new-found respect for an Element.

Rockin' it through the weeds and brush on a riding mower! I've literally done exactly that. Logged 100's of hours. Virtually anything the mower can push down, the blades can chop up!
Hopefully this mower made it to the new place. Queen Ashley can have a good time grinding up weeds and brush in your new field.

Everyone has experienced chainsaw issues - anyone who has used a chainsaw has had them jam and stuck in wood. Most serious "chainsawers" often have more than one on hand for this reason. Don't take these comments personally and spend time addressing them...it is a topic similar to people who like Chevy trucks and all other brands are "not trucks." I do not know why people make such comments. I have a 14 year old Toyota that has literally been in the shop ONE time for a sensor and my friends always rip me on driving a Toyota. My friends give me a hard time about owning a Toyota but then complain about all the problems they have with their vehicles on a regular basis. One just has to not react to such comments. Keep the chainsaw - it is low maintenance.

I have a gas chainsaw and a battery operated pole saw and leaf blower/mulcher. I would much rather have battery operated tools, it's just much easier to handle in my opinion.
However, the smell of gas exhaust and wood chips has a unique aroma that electric tools just can't give me haha.

You are right cutting trees down on your property in an open area is not an art. If your felling a 70 to 80 foot pine tree to an exact spot then, yes.
If your chainsaw works for you and is comfortable to you...then it is exactly the right one....
*edit* It may have been the camera angle, but it looked like your chain was really tight on the bar (thinking about the nose sprocket blowing out.)

That mower is savage, unbelievable what you can get through with it. Look after it Doug ,I’m guessing the plan would be to leave it with the new owners you wouldn’t be able to take it with you, such a crying shame but it is what it is.

    • @meldavis7016

Why can't they take it with them. They hauled it home in the Element, made the repairs and got it running.
Here's the link for that video. ua-cam.com/video/qrpHgDHbZLY/v-deo.html
I would think they plan to take it with them, especially since it has been such a great mower. Even if they get another one it never hurts to have a spare. We own 3, one is our first riding mower, that does need repairs but is a awesome mower when it's running. I have my mower that I prefer and my husband has his. They were all bought used but with maintenance will last for many years.

Those trees you see in pictures....those were trimmed by tree trimming artists, who spent MANY years trimming trees and passed an extremely hard test about every layer and aspect of a tree to secure a license. Which allows anyone who is hired by that company to trim under that one license, and yes they hand out chainsaws on the first day and put them on top of a dump truck to cut down the brush. Ahhhh....the nightmares. Anyway....back to reality, anyone can tell the difference between a tree done by an artist and every other tree out there

Thank-god it wasnt venomous though i'm not sure if you have any in your area but with snakes as far as im concerned its guilty until proven innocent.😱😱😱
They are pretty and i wish we had harmless ones here but sadly not.
Just the super agressive deadly ones... 😭😭😭

Just forget about the self-appointed "experts" and the haters. It's *"Element-ary"* you guys know how to get the most out of the *tools* you have. :P
