- Need to upgrade the muzzle brake on your .350 Legend AR-15? Right now, nobody sells a muzzle device specifically designated for .350 Legend, and of course, your favorite .308 / 7.62mm muzzle brake / flash hider is way too small. What's the alternative? Brownells Gun Tech™ Caleb Savant has good news: due to the .350 Legend's .355" bullet diameter, ANY muzzle brake for an AR-15 chambered in 9mm (aka 9x19mm, 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum) is the right size for your .350 Legend rifle. You can get excellent muzzle devices from VG6 Precision, Odin Works, and even a classic A2-style "Birdcage" flash hider, all compatible with a 9mm / .355" bore. The muzzle brake's bore opening should be at least .020" LARGER than the bullet itself. Caleb's samples are measuring close to .040" larger, which gives plenty of clearance yet still enables the muzzle brake to do its job correctly. Bonus: Caleb installs the crush-washer-free Odin Works Atlas compensator and demonstrates its clever mechanism for getting the gas to vent in the right direction.

For anyone looking, the muzzle brake is the, VG6 Precision Gamma 1/2x28 9mm
It also depends on your thread size. Some 350 L are 1/2 x 28 and some are 5/8 x 24 .
Really wish there were more options for a 9mm AR muzzle break with a 5/8 x 24 thread size ;(
I am so mad at Winchester. The 350 Legend was promised as a .357 rifle not a .355. They limited the potential of this cartridge for handloaders by not going with a
.358 diameter to expand the bullet options for no sane reason.
So I have the Winchester 357. 350 Legend Ar556 from ruger. ANY 9mm muzzle brake,comp,or flash w a 1/2x 28 should work just fine????
Bought a 350 legend upper form Bear Creek Arsenal and the thread pattern (5/8x24) makes it virtually impossible to find a good muzzle brake for it. All the brakes I have seen that will work for that caliber are 1/2x28 or something else. Super frustrating that they would use a thread pattern for a caliber which requires something different.
Someone makes muzzle brakes in 5/8 x 24, for .458 socom and .50 baowolf, so use one of those! Just go bigger than the bullet you are shooting!
What will work with the Ruger .350 Legend?
A "blast can", with an interior like a flash hider except the sides are solid, should work if the threads are correct, should it not? How much recoil does a 350 Legend possess?
I'm so confused ... I thought 350 legend bullets were .357 in.
If you buy the winchesters yes, Winchester loads in .357" and Hornady loads in .355". Bith fully interchangeable.
What thread pattern (ratio) should be used?. The atlas 9 has two different versions that can be bought
My 350 lengend is 11/16” a 24 is there an adapter available for the Odin works or Vg6?
Can you post the links to these muzzle breaks?
Will a 308 muzzle brake work on a 350 legend
Dam good question i wish somebody would give us a straight answer !
If it is an actual .308 muzzle brake. Then no, you should not use it as you could possibly experience bullet clipping. If you have a 5/8x24 thread(assuming you do) then you can use the flash can style muzzle devices or find a 450 bushmaster or 458 socom muzzle device in 5/8x24 and you should be good to go for your 350.
No since .308 is smaller than .350 (.357)
For metric people, 7.62mm is smaller than 9mm
It will thread on, but I always check, take a 350 lead or cartridge, and if can’t fit through the hole then no. What I do is ream the hole out on a laythe. Then yes u can.
So the atlas 7 wont work on the 350 legend
what breaks will work with my 450 bushmaster
I would imagine any 45 calibre brakes would work, but don't take my word for it, I haven't gotten the calipers out.
Due to the different thread patterns on different manufactured barrels, that can be a tricky question! It will first depend that factor but but any brake for the .458 SOCOM will clear. The SOCOM is a .458" whereas the .450 is actually a .452". I personally use the Wilson Combat QComp on my .450 Bushmaster.
