Robots are so cool! Great review once again
Cool robot. Nice review
Loving this robot. Awesome job with the info
Awesome! Thank you!
Great to see your channel growing! Bug things ahead for u😁😁😁👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
Awesome review 👏 well done!
Yes, they "help" keep it clean.. That's what they do.. If you make a mess, clean it up.. The robot will maintain the cleanliness.. Remember, it is not your mother..
Absolutely! lol
These robots look really helpful. Didn't know about them until now
Bought my Shark IQ Robot a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier! It hasn't been stuck anywhere. Only once, didn't empty completely (a couple of stuck leaves). I haven't used any of the boundary tape as there doesn't seem to be any areas in my house that need it. I have an older Shark Robot that cleans pretty well but gets stuck often. It has an edge clean function that I used most often as it avoided the issue of getting stuck but of course, then missed the center of the rooms! Still working with the mapping function. When it finishes the whole place I'll attempt to mark out the rooms. Overall I'm very happy with it, especially as I got it for $200 off!
That's cool! Glad you like it and got it at a great deal!! They are running some great promos now. And not having to use the boundary tape is great. For us, its like the robot seeks out the weirdest places to go under or into and we have to get it out. I will say that the boundary tape does work amazingly well so at least there's that.. lol Be we love it too. Of course nothing is perfect but the floors look so much better with the robot doing its work over and over again. BTW the self empty base and self cleaning brush roll are so helpful! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. We love to chat tech. Hope to hear from you again! Best wishes friend!
Spot-cleaning remedy! Temporarily name the messy area as a new, separate room of the house. Make sure to include a margin around the area, to account for any overspray.
For example, temporarily name the area as, "messy kitchen entry". Later, remove that new room from the map.
I hope that this is useful for you!
Nice demos. Your videos do great at showcasing the products!
Shark makes a good vacuum. Looks like there robot is as good as their up rights, just no spot cleaning.. thanks for showing that
That was a cool rice test to see it clean a realistic mess
I recently ordered the eufy 11S - I've got cats and fur and litter and etc. I do have to say your home is very clean compared to some of the other reviews where people can't walk because of all the junk or don't bother picking up cables, wires, etc. then complain it gets stuck. Good review thanks.
Wow! Thank you so much for saying that Betty. It means a lot. I hope you enjoy your 11S. We still use another vacuum to for messes to big for the robot or when we want a deeper cleaning. Thank you so much for watching and we hope to continue making good videos for you. Happy Holidays! =)
Great Review - I am getting mine tomorrow, and thanks to you, I will be ready to get my robot going!! you are awesome!
Good job! Put the music during the talking a slight bit softer ! Thanks for the vid
Thank you so much for watching and for the advice! Just started listening back with head phones to hear the volume better. Thank you for pointing that out, and we'll lower it going forward.
@@Quest4Tech he is right about the music volume
Been looking at this robot for a while. Thanks for helping me decide to get it! Great review
Hope you enjoy it!
@Jon Hernandez how you know? You tried both?

Sweet review y'all
Thank you 🤗
😁
I like the honest review.
I have the same model, about 4 weeks. If you have a GSD , don’t waste your money. Will not pickup any dog hair. It rolled the hair, and leaves it behind as little or big wieners. Ps I cleaned the whole system, every filter last Sunday, a day later same problem.. is great with sand and dust, but shit on hair.
Thank you so much for watching! Wow, didn't know that about the hair. We don't have a pet yet so ours mainly picks up ladies hairs. It does that pretty well but we run it like every other day. You still have to clean a lot even with the self cleaning brush roll?
Sweet robot vacuum. Didn't know these were so helpful
Who’s watching this because you just bought one on Black Friday?
$319
yes the price is great for black friday!
The black Friday price is amazing! It was nearly double the cost when we filmed this. Great buy and we hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for watching!
I'm still torn between this one and Roomba.
@@ashley6040 from everything I’ve seen this is between the i7 and S9 and half the price of the i7
These robots are nice. A little expensive but nice
Id buy the shark for 199 or 299 but 6 hundred is too much.? Nice review tho 👌
Black friday sale at Walmart 199$
Adjust your music levels as it is very distracting from what would have been a good video.
Absolutely will do. Thank you!
Nice!!
GREAT REVIEW
Thank you so much for watching!
@@Quest4Tech very imfomative review
Mine showed a fairly accurate map of my house after one cleaning. I don’t know where people complain about the mapping. Maybe my experience is a one off and not typical Idk. I can only speak to my personal experience.
We thought the mapping was good too. After the first 2 tries it was pretty spot on. I think it may vary depending on what you have in your house and how clear the area is for the robot
I agree, I did the first run in eco mode and it did a great Job.
Thanks for this review. You have lots of helpful information.
Thanks for watching and saying that! It means so much =)
Not sure whether I should be jammin to Rasta ya mon Shaggy or Wu Tang Forever to this review.
lol, that's great! We make each beat ourselves and try to make something nice to listen to. Thank you so much for noticing!
I can live w/out spot cleaming. Even w/a robot that does it, it's still quicker to grab my cordless and just do it. Oh, and I would generally just grab my broom for that anyway.
I have a rumba but it looks like this shark may be better because of the base..
I like the fact that the shark hair doesn’t wrap around the brushes like Roomba does.
We let the shark clean Monday till Saturday. Cleaned every filter the 2nd time in 4 weeks. And still no improvement. May be good for short hair. Long hair like our GSD, just roll up and be left behind. Like a farmer does with the hay.
Sorry to hear that. We didn't run into that issue because we do not have any pets at this time.
Great video! Definitely Agree and very thorough.
Personal review:
We have the regular base and love ours. We’ve had it about a month. Best part for us is we feel obligated to keep the floor clear of clutter. We joke that we need an auto kitchen counter cleaner now 😂.
We haven’t had to use the boundary strip since our furniture is low enough it can’t get under.
Also we put it under our 36” tv stand..... so we failed horribly on the 5’ recommendation since it only has 1’ on each side, but we have never had an issue.
Room mapping: we made rooms for our house so we can select certain places to clean only. I’ve actually made room within rooms..... where the family does movie night with popcorn and 2 sub 4yr old boys ..... super nice feature. WARNING: you do need the lights on to do the “room specific” cleanings. If it’s dark it’ll go ahead and clean the hold house instead.
Overall we have decided we will never go without one of these again. (Not sure about other brands). So super happy and we got ours for 199.99. We only use our dyson to clean baseboards now.
Hey David! Thanks so much for watching and giving your personal review too. Its so cool comparing our reviews with other friends so thank you!
We are the same way about keeping the floors open and clean for the robot to get too.. Its really helped us with cable management and just picking up after ourselves even more.. Funny how that works.. lol.. I think the 5 foot thing was more of a guide looking at it now, since we've had to moving the base closer to other stuff to. I actually haven't to tried to run the robot in the dark yet. Does it really work? I felt like our Shark was bumping into stuff more than normal if it wasn't bright enough but its worth a try in the dark if yours does the job... 199 is a huge deal, Congrats! After owning a robot vacuum I'm not sure we could do without one now either :) Family movies with popcorn and having the robot clean up after is the best! And your auto kitchen counter cleaner idea sounds like a great idea to me bro! Shark Tank?.. =) Thanks again David, Take Care!
@@Quest4Tech haven’t tried to clean the house in the pitch dark. Just with no lights on and some blackout curtains on some of the windows. You can see but just obviously darker than with the lights on. Which cause the shark to clean the whole house instead of certain rooms. Nonetheless we are usually always home when we need that function so it hasn’t bothered us much
I absolutely love my Shark IQ XL (Updated Version of the one in this review). I have two, one for each floor. This one in this review does have a bad rap! Is the updated one perfect? NOPE! not by a long shot. Shark has to get on the ball with developing the app and firmware in a non third world country. My first IQ XL has a minor bug with the wifi dropping and the robot not going into rooms I send it to, but I don't use that room feature as much. I complained to Shark and they did the right thing and sent me another, allowing me to keep the original one (Hence why I have 2). I also, have a Roomba 980 and its a great robot as well with so many features the Shark doesn't have, but I still prefer my shark. My shark is smaller then the Roomba and doesn't get stuck at all. It navigates my dinning rooms chairs with no issues because of its smaller size, goes under my sofa and finds its way out, my Roomba had to be rescued all the time. The battery runs on eco mode for 130 min on my 1200 sq feet first floor and 90 min on standard power on my 1600 second floor on carpet. Sharks hardware is really strong, the software is what they need to work on.
That's awesome you got the newer better version! We still love ours even being the slightly older version. Yes it has some issues but overall it gets the job done and has been worth the money!
Great video, thanks! Factoring in price, which self emptying Robot self cleaning vac would you buy?
Thanks So Much! Shark IQ, Deebot N8 Plus are our 2 favs. They both have a self empty base which is a must!
I just got the shark with base but its the one where you don't have to carry the bin to empty into garbage. I think its the next generation not the one with lidar. If you have pets you will be emptying the bin more but I think its going to be better than having to stop vacuum to empty the tiny bin on back of vacuum. I haven't vaccumed in over a week just to see how much cat hair it will suck up.
I am trying to find a way to boost the power on my shark IQ with self empty base. Any suggestions? I have already completed the most common...
Hey. Do you mean making the robot increase its suction like changing the suction power in the app to high or ultra because that is the one way we know how to do it.
Our shark robo vacuum has trouble docking. Any suggestions????
Try to reset the robot and uninstall it from the app. set it up as a new robot and let it re map your house
Sounds helpful! 😉
Seriously with putting strips of black tape all over the floor? Any alternative planned like the iRobot virtual wall?
Yeah it's not the most fun or eye catching thing to do. Hopefully on their next model they will have the virtual laser barriers. But for this one all we get are these boundary strips.
@@Quest4Tech I have boundary strips in certain seams between rooms where it can be discretely hidden. I don’t think I’m going to lay down tape out in the middle of a room though.
Lots of people get problems with these robots, just a heads up
Really, wow! What problems have you seen?
@@Quest4Tech I mean the navigation, the WiFi, the bin vacuum all failed on my robot 😭. My roomba works sooooo much better
Yes, the first gen Shark IQ does not have a good reputation because of hardware and software issues, but shark has updated this model with the Shark IQ XL and its 10x better. Still not perfect thanks to the app but the robot itself is really good. A lot of people are basing how bad shark is because it cant pick up jelly beans or 10lbs of rice. I don't know about you, but I don't have 10lbs of raw rice and jelly bean floating around my house on the floor. No robot will ever do good if that's the things you want to pick up.
My shark gives me error 6. Everything is free nothing stuck. What else is there?
Sorry to here that. Ive never heard about that error. Give the shark
customer service number a call and they will get you a new robot or help you fix yours
Can you set the robot to clean the wood only and not the carpet?
Yes but only if you block off the carpet with boundary tape
@@Quest4Tech thank you
Can I run it through the wifi from a cell phone or tablet?
Yes you can as long as you use the shark clean app
will it work without wifi?
Yes, after the initial set up but you need wifi to set it up for the first time, through the app.. you can use a wifi hotspot from a phone if you need to
Mine is kind of loud..is this nomal?
Yes I think it is. Ours is that way too. We actually called shark about it and they did a video call with us to see it.. they said it was totally normal.
Bjs has this for $399.99 until dec 24th
That's a great deal! Are you going to buy?
@@Quest4Tech not sure
Our houses almost 2500 ft, and it cannot map the entire house. I don't know if it's losing Wi-Fi or what. Is anybody else having this problem? Other reviews I read they said they took it back because of the mapping feature doesn't work right either. Any suggestions?
We haven't heard of that issue yet. I know it took a few times for ours to get the mapping right. We have had to call Shark and they have a really cool video chat they will do with you for troubleshooting. If you haven't already, I would try getting in touch with Shark customer service, they should be able to assist you with this. The number is 877-581-7375
@@Quest4Tech thank you so much for the information. I called shark. They said what you said. It will take a few times. I tried many times I had to delete the map four times. I'm on the fifth time. It still has not map the bathroom or closet. Every time I try to make it go over there it wants to come back out. It avoids it like the plague, LOL
Have had this robot for about 9 months, and it is absolutely AWFUL. The navigation is pretty bad, with the robot cleaning the same area multiple times, while completely ignoring/bypassing other areas. Ours has developed a slow list to the right, so it doesn't even travel in straight lines anymore. It seems to have significant difficulty finding its charging base, even when within a few feet of it.
I wish I never bought it and will probably have to warranty it back due to its defects. We have an older Roborock S5 that has been absolutely bulletproof. This one worked reasonably well for the first couple of months, but downhill since then.
wow! sorry you've had a bad experience with the Shark IQ. we are noticing that it is having some of those issues as we use it more since doing the initial review. The suction is an issue and the navigation is another. It keeps hitting the same table and chair legs. It's always getting stuck. The self empty base is nice but the vacuum itself could use some work
@@Quest4Tech with these issues would you still recommend it?
@@travis1118 sorry Jesse, we just saw your comment.. Yes for us personally we'd still recommend especially at the 299 or 399 super price everyone is getting it for. Just 4 months ago we paid like 600 hundred I believe. Of course everyone's results may vary but...... The thing is, these are robot vacuums. They have some issues and will probably never out do a standard upright vacuum. But when you think of the convenience and general ease of use they provide, its a great thing. We love waking up to cleaner, freshly streaked vacuumed floors that we didn't have to do ourselves.. for that it's more than worth it even if we have to deal with some minor issues here and there.. hope this helps 🙂 thanks so much for watching and commenting. Let us know if u have any other questions and have a good day friend!
Hi, good job so far. Question. I noticed you using the rug mat under your dock station. Doesn't it cause slipping before it's docks?
No it does not cause slipping.
$355.00 Amazon Prime Day
We saw that. Amazing deal!!! That makes it even more worth it! Enjoy your new Shark! Let us know how you like it and thank you so much for watching 🙏🏼🙏🏼😉
All this money for this and it doesn't have the map feature I am returning it to Target for a refund
Great for hair shedding pugs we run it daily have to dump. Every 4 days
That is awesome! Yes it does hair very well! The self cleaning brush roll is the best!
Boundary tape is stupid. If was really a smart vacuum it should have no go zones in the app.
Hopefully a robot will be released that can avoid everything on its own without boundary tape.
I heard this robotic vacuum cleaner sucks...
Its actually nice for the money
@@Quest4Tech Sounds good.
The music is very annoying. I couldn't watch it all because of that. Sorry.
Thanks for your feedback. We have decreased the music volume on our videos since doing this one.
