I use to live near a right hand break like this called rincon where it even had a barrel section to it. It was in Ventura county so it was a cold water break unfortunately. 4.3 in the winter all day with a hoodie and booties.

I call big BS on your post. The "Con" is in Santa Barbara county. Everyone who lives within 30 minutes of there knows that. Second it requires a wetsuit yes, but a 4mm? No way. A 3/2 is, by far, the most needed.
I used to wear a full all 2 mm and had no problems all winter. Booties are used but mainly for the rock dance in and out od the water.
So yea....naw.

Papa Sau is shaping step deck noseriders in Kauai, his shaping experience has produced some of the best handmade boards bar none. While paddling my board at Cerritos, and Old Man's in Baja Sur, fellow surfers would look at it and say, wow that board floats so good ! Plus they ride great !

A lot of these spots in Indonesia work at all sizes with the right direction. G-land is a pretty fantastic longboarding wave when chest high.
