I grew up with Kraft Mayo. Switched to Dukes after trying it for the first time during college. I''ve been a faithful Duke's fan for over 35 years now.
Kewpie wins automatically for being in a squeeze bottle. Just kidding, great comparison. People sometimes ask me about the difference between kewpie and other mayo brands. I often say mayo is mayo and I really don't care. But now I have a place to send them... ;)
Hahaha, if I didn't take January off of drinking until my vacation, there woulda been lots of Malört in this video. Appreciate you for watching early, Nathan!!
I'm Irish and moved to Australia last year. I learned about these Mayo's from your channel I managed to get kewpie and only today I was so surprised to find dukes in a random store. Hands down dukes and kewpie beat Helmans. I couldn't believe I found dukes mayo. All thanks to you Mr Ely you beautiful bastard
I'm here for you, Connor. I am so done with Helman's and I won't even flirt with the idea of touching Miracle Whip if I don't have to for a recipe. Duke's and Kewpie are the new standard. Appreciate you!
I switched a few years ago from Hellmann's, but sometimes, my store is sold out of Duke's, and I don't complain one bit if I have to grab some Hellmann's instead!
Great video! I’ve had Duke’s and Kewpie. Both are good and I get it. In my experience, though, Hellman’s works for pretty much everything. But, hey…thank you for the work that you and Aly and Lionel do. - ITCOMAGIC
Definitely keeping both mayos on hand is the move. Thank you Seany Two Sandos (I see you with that hat on while eating 2 McChickens) and Assistant Director Aly for a thorough comparison! 😊👍👍
Before I watch this video...I must say I had been intrigued by the popularity of Kewpie mayo. Especially with a lot of UA-camrs using it religiously. I tried it. Then threw away the bottle. Not a fan. I only use Dukes. Duke's for the win...ALWAYS!
commenting before watching but i recently bought both and think Duke's is superior, Kewpie has too much of a funky taste for my liking. will come back after watching edit: dang, i get it though. i generally dont use a lot of mayo either way though so i feel like Duke's goes further when using less. good video. Aly is the best wife to go along so enthusiastically with your mayo shenanigans lol
Home is Nc so I’ve always used Dukes but when I lived in Japan for three yrs Kewpie was always my second fav but hands down Dukes is superior just my opinion
I love mayo, especially dukes, I made mac salad for the first time because of watching you eat it. I didn't have macaroni so i made Medium Shell Salad.
The next time you make a toasted cheese sandwich spread Kewpie on the outside of the bread instead of butter. It’s life changing. I ‘m pretty sure I saw Jesus while eating it.
The only way I can eat mayonnaise is in egg salad or tuna salad or deviled eggs. I want to like one of them on sandwiches but if there’s been mayonnaise on my sandwich even if I scrape it off I still can’t eat it so what one would you a Mayo hater be able to to tolerate on a sandwich between the 2
Oh my holy grossness. as someone who despises Mayo and even the word mayo this is my first unwatchable HSE video. I am watching as much as I can wjust the bottom of the video showing....still difficult. How can people eat that stuff!?!! MAYewwwWWw
Aly’s intrusive thoughts almost won when she mentioned how you look like Dracula with that white stuff on your mouth. Hahaha. 😂😂😂😂 I died Aly when you stopped your thought as I was thinking the same thing. Dukes mayo used to make a grilled cheese but then you add in your bacon lettuce and tomato for one of the best blts ever. It’s a go to staple.
I'm surprised you didn't do a tuna fish sandwich or a straight hamburger/ cheeseburger . Here in northern California we have a chain of hamburger joints that only put Mayo on it Burger and I have to admit it really good. Nations hamburger is what it's called just in the bay area.
Hahaha, I wish I had time to do more of these. This video took about the same time as shooting + editing three other vlogs from start to finish. But these are very rewarding when they're done.
Kewpie I had there hamburgers at the restaurant in Lima Ohio same baby logo and everything they were pretty good old school fast food place they take your order while and write it down maybe because they were busy wonder if it's the same company?
Different company. Kewpee restaurants also don’t use Kewpie mayo. The Kewpee restaurants' baby is a doll, spelled Kewpie in Japan, which is in fact what the Japanese mayo/company is named after. Weird, but ok :)
I would not compare the two they are completely different on there own and I thing kewpie taste like deviled egg filling already yes it is tasty but I wouldn’t use it to replace regular Mayo for everything
As a half Japanese half white guy I’ve got both in my fridge and love em both greatly. Duke’s is phenom for grilled ham and cheeses. Kewpie is fantastic for breakfast sandos with a little spicy ketchup as well
Nice comparison Sean! I only use mayo for certain sandos. A ham sando had to be butter and English mustard. I do a variation with ham, cheese+pickle which I go back and forth between butter and mayo (It's English pickle not dill pickles). Cheese and onion sando, generally mayo as it help keep the shredded cheese in the sando. Roast beef sando has to be butter and onion salt (horseradish optional). When you did the deviled eggs, did you put English mustard in there? For me it's a must have as well as paprika.
@@HeySeanEly it does. Thanks. I just so happened to be making krab salad with Kewpie mayo earlier in the day and didn't really notice the color, but I also don't have more than one mayo open at a time, which is a shame because I agree with you that both are very good but for different things. I've used Kewpie on certain things and felt it was just wrong, but I don't think I've ever had that happen with Duke's, or my typical pick Hellman's.
Seany two eggs. A kicker on the deviled eggs is to put a dill pickle on it like a cherry on top of a sundae! Cut up some pickle chips and plant that bad boy like the fin of a shark! Kicker for shur
I'll do you one better: the Kewpie you have is the American market/export Kewpie. Domestic Japanese Kewpie is thicker and more flavor-concentrated because it isn't watered down, is richer and tangier with more vinegar and egg, and contains MSG so it's more savory. Supposedly the Kewpie they sell at Costco is closer to Japanese, but still not identical... could really test your palate with those three if you want! And can't remember if you already discovered this, but you can unscrew the top of the Kewpie bottle to get a wider star nozzle.
How do you know the difference? Is there something different in the packaging? I have bought Kewpie at Wal Mart and at an Asian import food store, never noticed a difference.
@@Wilco1972 Just about anything you're going to buy in the US is going to be the US-made US market stuff. It does tell you where it's made on the back, and the list of ingredients will be different.
I currently have both in my fridge, with the Duke's being my default mayo for nearly everything. The Kewpie, I keep on hand for a specific rice and tuna dish, which is basically a cup or so of rice when done, with some soy sauce added after cooking, mixed into the rice, then, you add your can of tuna, and finally the Kewpie mayo, and stir that all together, and you have a quick, easy meal.

A great vlog! We have 4 kinds of mayo in our fridge for some reason 😳 Nice to see the whole family in there too!
First time watching you Sir. I feel you will give me much viewing happiness 😊. Liked and subscribed 👍✅️
So much work went into this! What fun and frolic. So interesting too! I wanted that mac/salad as soon as I saw it! Great job, Sean, Aly, and Lionel.
Growing up with Helman's and still loving it, I tried Dukes about 2 years ago and it is now my favorite
wild ride i did not expect to go on today

Do the Japanese send the same ingredients on the American version sometimes some foods from japan are different for America
Sean Ely: Mayo influencer!!! Love it dude!!
I’m here for the people.
As a Hellman’s guy…..I was intrigued by this!
I switched a few years ago from Hellmann's, but sometimes, my store is sold out of Duke's, and I don't complain one bit if I have to grab some Hellmann's instead!
When you try something new, get the smallest jar, in case you get grossed out!

Mayonnaise is my favorite food group and dukes mayo is nectar of the gods
So I hate Mayo what one is better for the ppl that hate the flavor
Haha this and the egg comparison video are definitely two questions I’ve thought about a lot. Videos are on point man
Definitely keeping both mayos on hand is the move. Thank you Seany Two Sandos (I see you with that hat on while eating 2 McChickens) and Assistant Director Aly for a thorough comparison! 😊👍👍

This video was AWESOME. We need more of these blindfold food battles
A lot more work. But so much fun when it’s uploaded. 🔥
Seany 2 Efin Mayos. A new classic. Loved it.

Thanks!
Can't thank you enough, Andi. Appreciate the love, always.
Love the mcchicken, normally do bbq and/or bufflo sauce thou. However whats even better is their spicy mcchicken!
I like Hellmanns and Dukes. I tried Kewpie at my sisters house and I didn't care for it.

I love mayo, especially dukes, I made mac salad for the first time because of watching you eat it. I didn't have macaroni so i made Medium Shell Salad.
Dukes has no sugar or msg like kewpie . So it’s just perfect period I grew up with other types but once I tried dukes I was done
The next time you make a toasted cheese sandwich spread Kewpie on the outside of the bread instead of butter. It’s life changing. I ‘m pretty sure I saw Jesus while eating it.
and thankfully, we didn't have to see Miracle Whip enter the equation
Yeah that’s not even Mayo.
That's not mayo, it's an outrage!
Thanks!
Thank you Derek!!
@HeySeanEly you got it man! Have a great day
Fun fact: Food Network star Justin Warner has the Kewpie baby tattooed on his arm.
Miracle Whip salad dressing way better than actual mayonnaise and in the deviled eggs why would you put mustard in it that's gross
Trick for deviled eggs, slice the bottom of the egg slightly. This gives a flat surface for it to rest which makes it much more stable.
The only way I can eat mayonnaise is in egg salad or tuna salad or deviled eggs. I want to like one of them on sandwiches but if there’s been mayonnaise on my sandwich even if I scrape it off I still can’t eat it so what one would you a Mayo hater be able to to tolerate on a sandwich between the 2
I prefer western style mayo. I live in Japan and they use kewpie on everything..

I coulda done like 15 different things; just had to limit it somewhere. If I do this type of a video again, those are two fantastic options for foods.
Deviled eggs are one of my favorites. You make them good too. Fun video bling folded. Great job.
Great video, a real family affair. I've never head of Duke's mayo, we were always a Best Foods family.
The family came to play today.
great video! I want that beanie Aly had on!
It's so awesome, right?!
In regards to the Mac salad, If it's a side would u not want it richer & heavier as ur not eating as much since its a side?
Sean - let’s work on more of these challenges.. Love Aly’s participation in the content…. My only question, what’s next.
Hahaha, I wish I had time to do more of these. This video took about the same time as shooting + editing three other vlogs from start to finish. But these are very rewarding when they're done.
Ok - add BestFoods mayonnaise to the challenge.
You missed an opportunity for a bloodsport tie in!
Sad news about sports illustrated
I'm definitely a Dukes girl. Fricken love Mayonnaise. ❤️ ❤❤ helps the food slide down the food chute.
And helps it out the poop chute. 👍
Never had dukes but not a big mayo guy lol
Your talking over elton browns gig
McCormick Mayonesa con limon soo good.
Dukes is 🔥 and kewpie is good if u like a egg taste to your mayo
I keep both in my fridge ❤
I keep both in my house for different foods
I love the .VS ........you gotta do a series of .VS's
my favorite is whatever comes on the mchicken. sucks you cant buy it.
McDonald’s Mayo!
Hmmm, the ASMR of Sean eating macaroni salad.
There are better noises in the world, that's for sure.
Kewpie has MSG in it
Rabid Anti-Dentite!!

apparently sean needs to be able to see to be able to bite a sandwich or take a bite of anything 🤪
Facts. I'm Seany Eyeballs, baby.
Dukes baby!
I would not compare the two they are completely different on there own and I thing kewpie taste like deviled egg filling already yes it is tasty but I wouldn’t use it to replace regular Mayo for everything
But you can agree I worked my tail off on this video, right? 😏
@@HeySeanEly Absolutely 👍👌
Hellmans and Kewpie, period. Never been able to find Dukes in any grocery store in NH or even MA!

I have tried Kewpie, and i liked it! For all around mayo applications, i would pick Dukes. Blue plate is another mayo that shouldnt be slept on👍
how can you not have hellmans on there damn :( 😂😂😂😂
I didn’t come up with the video idea 😂
Why oh why do you only have 14k subscribers? I feel like so many people of the world are missing out. One of my favorite channels.
Why did he have to be blindfolded? Was he going to identify which mayo was which by looking at a sandwich?!
The kewpie mayo is way, way more off-white. Almost yellow. I can tell instantly compared to Duke’s. That answer your question?
@@HeySeanEly it does. Thanks.

This was awesome!
Now you need to do a kewpie vs. chosen foods mayo made with avocado oil! It's my favorite and kewpie is a close second.
Sam the Cooking Guy loves the Kewpie mayo.
Nice Seinfeld reference 😉
Thank you 🙏
Great review. Thanks for sharing.
Man... a little BLT with your Mayo! 😂😂
Thanks for all the extra effort for an amazing vid!
Thank you so much! Means a lot ❤️
