Speaking of mmo's idk if you tried sky children of light, it was made by the developers of journey on the ps3 and its actually pretty good almost too good
RuneScape's biggest innovation is being low res enough to run on a toaster. First is was RuneScape on Miniclip, and then RuneScape on your phone. Genius.
That doesn’t even matter that much anymore, good phone processors are quite powerful now, the main issue is battery life while playing intensive games and developers actually developing games for them.
I am going to make a new Mobile MMORPG. This game will download itself on your phone. Then it will auto play itself. And guess what? It will also automatically buy stuff from the game which will automatically be debited from your account. During all this you can not close the phone and when the battery of the phone is low, it will automatically hire someone from outside to come to your house and plug it in. So after hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars, the game will finally automatically delete itself because your character has already reached max level.
It's an Mmo-light at least, and it takes a ton of game design from MMO's, from the map design to the way it milks every last dollar out of its player base with 100 different monitization schemes

The team behind Dofus is in fact making a much more streamlined game called Waven, it's early access on PC right now and will be on mobile eventuality.
Even better than Touch Dofus and Waven, they're actually working on Dofus unity, which will bring the actual full game Dofus on PC to the mobile. In regards to your maplestory comments - it sounds like you haven't looked at maplestory since before big bang. The current day maplestory is a completely different game to the pre-big bang maplestory. The microtransactions and auto-everything is exactly what I'd expect from maplestory, regardless of platform. I don't think PC will auto-move you between objectives, but it is only the tiniest bit more active engagement required. The character creation is just how they do character creation since big bang. IDK if it has the 'maple heroes' but those characters are the original characters that were in the version you're thinking of. These new characters are more characters than classes (though in this case they are interchangeable). The class is really only for movement or fighting, whereas the character is more about the story/quests. They just happen to be linked directly 1:1 and not explained, because nexon is just always gonna nexon. There's probably a singular mobile MMO that's actually good and you CAN PLAY. It's called Toram Online which is also available on PC, and no, the PC isn't just a port, it's actually worked on and works on PC with customizable keybinds.
The siivagunner rip in the background of the Diablo section really caught me off guard. Flintstones into snow halation was hilarious when talking about how horrible it is
The Omer footage from MMOhuts sent me in to a nostalgia vortex. If you know what I'm talking about, you've seen MMORPG horrors much worse than these in the free-to-play explosion of the mid 2000s. One of the MMORPG channels should do a video about that. There were templates for making MMORPGS you could buy, there were like 10 new ones every month. I remember one where you spawn next to this cave that was filled to the brim with skeletons, and you would level to max level almost instantly in there, so you could go do the PVP... instead of just starting you at max level or giving you a boost. Wild times.
Sky: Children of the Light is good, but it's not your usual MMO since it lacks combat; it's from the same developer as Journey, Flower, and flOw, and bears gameplay similar to Journey, with a greater focus on making friends and flying.
It's probably cuz it's not new, and they didn't realize that there's got to be a big reason why such an old game on mobile is still alive even till this day. Like, it's one of the best MMOs in mechanics alone
i played modern maplestory for a little bit and got a bit curious about maplestory m's progression systems, and it's an rng nightmare. to enhance your "mythic" gear into the 2nd best teir of equipment you basically get one 4% chance a week at it succeding. and if you fail 5 times you need to use a scroll to get more chances at it, with said scroll being made out of other mythic gear (said scrolls also have a chance at failing). plus afterwards you have to do it 5 more times to increase its max levle. adn then you do it all agian (but with a 10% succes rate atleast) for the best teir of equipment. repeat 8 tiems for each equipment slot (as far as i know there is not a single f2p who has a peice of the best equipment). the gear of whales is literally built on the lifes work of a dozen other whales who quit. the funny part is that this is only for the global version, for the korean version you just get the high tier gear on its own without having to play conway's soldiers with the 7 previoues tiers of equipment. its a bit more complicated then what i said (thers an alternative path to the 4% route thats weaker), but i did find it very interesting, even if theres no way in hell im gonna play it.
Very, very late but this is basically it. Accessing to anything in MapleM as a f2p is rough due to the economics and in general how heavily gated behind rng enhancing items are. You'll need to spend months grinding for mesos + cycling through events to get charges and a bit of accessories. The best time to start a new character is usually on their release also since Nexon gives out a good weapon to start off, gears, and enhancing mats during that period, but it is ultimately limited.Pocket MapleStory felt miles better than M.
hey just a heads up your videos are really good and the visual gags are great but I appreciate that it is also audio-only friendly. this is by far one of my top 70 chores channels. doing the dishes while listening to you anxiously tell me about games I don't care about is unparalleled. thank you for your service
The best MMORPG for mobile based on its system and gameplay is Toram by far, or at least the one that I have played (cough 1000+ hours in cough). You really get everything you would expect from an MMORPG - Freedom on allocating stat points (though mostly there's set best options for each weapon types, but you can do whatever), the same as skill tree system which is very flexible and you can make your own skillset for your own playstyle, player trading and market, gear crafting and stat customization, equipment appearance customization, housing, no auto battle, no auto pathing, everything is manual. Though the grind is also real and sometimes getting a party for it is more annoying than fighting the boss itself.
for Mir4 its supposed to be a PC game as you can watch the demo everywhere, but some dumb higher up make it mobile with NFT.. thats why there's a double jump, dodge, and well made story and cutscene in the beggining
Thank you for segmenting and titling your time bar on bottom of video. I cannot tell you how much that is invaluable to me when I’m trying to watch and take care of my daughters, and only have a handful of time to do so.. You a real one G. Instant follow lol.
As a person with a MIR4 addict as a brother, he got into the game for the easy nft money and stayed for the end game pvp combat (he has never turned off his pc for weeks)
For Dofus Touch, the timer can also be see as the background of the player/monster that is currently playing. It will start filling up with an orange bar to replace the grey background.
I’m frustrated that this isn’t hitting on the algorithm. It’s got everything. I really think you could succeed as a gaming content creator with stuff like this, not just RuneScape. I’ve seen creators that just weren’t good enough but tried really hard anyway, but you’ve got the goods toots. Keep going man. I’m excited to be on the ground floor.
TLDR - "Hero of Aethric / ORNA RPG" - Final Fantasy 1, 2 and 3 but with MMO elements you can play with friends and is free, turn based, dungeons, raids solo or with multiplayer! I did the same thing and played toooooo many mobile MMO's and I actually found one I liked, there is a Retro RPG/MMO that reminds me of like Final Fantasy 1-3 BUT it's an MMO and you can play with friends, do dungeons and even raids / events. it's been pretty fun and has a good classic game experience, it has enough quality of life changes and auto travel to not being annoying but no AUTO combat or anything that takes away from actually playing. and also has TONS of different classes and has turn based combat which is rare these days. It's called Hero of Aethric or "ORNA RPG" not sure why it has two different names lol. but after tried tons of MMOs this one has been refreshing because i'v never found a turned based RPG that is still an MMO at the same time - It strikes a unique balance of being both and is fun and free and the in game purchases are not required or greedy for anyone who likes classic turn based RPGS but want MMO elements and multiplayer! I don't know how iv tried so many mobile games and never heard of Aethric / ORNA before but I'm glad I did find it.
I'm not gonna lie, the "it's better to hide paywalls later in the game than upfront" is a pretty shit take my guy. Apps should be up front with how they are going to charge you. Giving you a free sample of cocaine so you can get addicted is not the model a video game should be using to make money. It's predatory and scummy
A couple you left out that might've been worth checking out, Eve Echoes which is the mobile version of Eve Online and Vendetta Online which is another space MMO but first person flight combat simulator that's similar to Eve Echoes but with less P2W mechanics and a progression similar to what Albion has.
I find the Maplestory Section especially funny because its so different from other MMOS, because if you didnt know, Each class has a vastly different story with a lot of them being preset characters that you play through, I still think its a ton of fun but I also like playing maplestory as its own kinda odd RPG instead of an MMO and actually playing through the story so that might just be me.
@@IdylOnTVYeah, if you want to try it again and have something that you are more familiar with. I would recomend you play the Explorer, Cygnus Knight or Resistance classes. Those ones are all about YOUR character with no real presets in there.
Honestly a single player offline Maple game where you progress through the story of every class and have full control over your character like the PC version doesn't sound half bad Too bad Nexon execs would never approve of it cause it cant be monetized like a live service casino or a microtransaction hell hole
You got a new sub for playing heartwood. Glad to see people enjoy these 2d mmos still. Had quite a laugh watching, you are a funny guy. 😂 "rogue because i have mental illness" i lost it.

There was something bothering me about this video, but I just couldn't get it before realizing it was the absolutely bizarre choices made for background music. I love it.
the timer on dofus is in the turn order area where your icon and the enemy icons are. notice how the background of your or their portraits fills with orange, thats your timer.

Iruna online is a fairly decent classic-style MMO, but old, so I'd understand skipping it but.... Toram? Have you never seen it on any list or what? That game has some of the most unique MMO elements I've ever seen. (Though in all honesty I'd rather recommend playing PC version, controls are better imo)

Holy crap the original Dofus footage is so nostalgic for me. (I played Dofus today lol, and I still love the game)
No toram online is wild
Yeah I was surprised toram wasn’t on here since it was a mobile mmo and got ported to PC
As gamer myself who played toram online for the last 7 years I'm so disappointed.
It's probably cuz it's not new, and they didn't realize that there's got to be a big reason why such an old game on mobile is still alive even till this day. Like, it's one of the best MMOs in mechanics alone
Oh how I wish there's a new mmo like Toram cuz I can never find anything like it ever. 😭😭
Was waiting for toram too
i played modern maplestory for a little bit and got a bit curious about maplestory m's progression systems, and it's an rng nightmare. to enhance your "mythic" gear into the 2nd best teir of equipment you basically get one 4% chance a week at it succeding. and if you fail 5 times you need to use a scroll to get more chances at it, with said scroll being made out of other mythic gear (said scrolls also have a chance at failing). plus afterwards you have to do it 5 more times to increase its max levle. adn then you do it all agian (but with a 10% succes rate atleast) for the best teir of equipment. repeat 8 tiems for each equipment slot (as far as i know there is not a single f2p who has a peice of the best equipment). the gear of whales is literally built on the lifes work of a dozen other whales who quit.
the funny part is that this is only for the global version, for the korean version you just get the high tier gear on its own without having to play conway's soldiers with the 7 previoues tiers of equipment.
its a bit more complicated then what i said (thers an alternative path to the 4% route thats weaker), but i did find it very interesting, even if theres no way in hell im gonna play it.
I remember playing original Mu online back when i was a teen. If you had wings you were literally the coolest guy on the server.
Needs more Runescape
edited is crazy
Runescape is the GOAT. It's great even on mobile. I really enjoy killing dragons in the wilderness, especially while at work haha.
I had to pause the video, left the room, then came back to a freeze frame at 33:03 - that certainly is an image to walk in on
Did you get Josh Strife Hayes to read the player written messages for you?
All mobile mmo but no toram? Whut?😴😅
Still my favorite mmo!! Love the cosmetic too
My favorite mmo and the time I had someone special in a game
In a game
TORAM Best Underated MMORPG
Glad you tried Heartwood!
It’s still pretty new, but has a bright future :D
hey just a heads up your videos are really good and the visual gags are great but I appreciate that it is also audio-only friendly. this is by far one of my top 70 chores channels. doing the dishes while listening to you anxiously tell me about games I don't care about is unparalleled. thank you for your service
I downloaded MU Origin thinking it would be a cow milking simulator, I was highly disappointed to say the least.
Agreed
i love the patron song at the end
The Josh Strife Hayes cameo was greatly appreciated
Fishing is releasing on heartwood online. btw thanks for doing a video on it!
The music at 1:48 made me think flyff universe was gonna be on the list and I was like :o
hearing the flyff music playing in the intro opened up some good memories for me :D
for Mir4 its supposed to be a PC game as you can watch the demo everywhere, but some dumb higher up make it mobile with NFT.. thats why there's a double jump, dodge, and well made story and cutscene in the beggining
Hey Idyl, which SiIvagunner rip did you use for the background music at 6:20? I like this rendition of flintstones.
7 Grand Dad, but I can't find this rip with the soft flute
its a pokemon song but i have no clue which one
edit: its littleroot town alpha mix
Thank you for segmenting and titling your time bar on bottom of video. I cannot tell you how much that is invaluable to me when I’m trying to watch and take care of my daughters, and only have a handful of time to do so.. You a real one G. Instant follow lol.
Idyl never answered the most important question. Why is there shampoo in his shower???
Seems redundant but he probably washes his head with it, maybe even his beard 🤣
@@willfrederickson2131shampoo is for hair
As a bald king myself you should use shampoo to clean your head, its a diferrent skin so using soap is not recommended
Hugs from Brazil
Nunca achei que eu encontraria um Br num vídeo gringo sobre mmo's mobile explicando porque carecas usam shampoo@@olavinhowav6597
@@olavinhowav6597my whole life is different now with this knowledge
TORAM is handdown the best MMORPG with nice storyline.
True . and now toram online collab anime no game no life
I
Still waiting for the story 😂
I play dragon trail
horrible community i tried it and finish the story and yeah worst experience i ever had
@@singasingapore-gg1ls Dunno what you experienced but it is not that bad for me as I play solo and was some times ago
Boom Boom Boom Boom in the rs sound font did psychic damage to me
As a person with a MIR4 addict as a brother, he got into the game for the easy nft money and stayed for the end game pvp combat (he has never turned off his pc for weeks)
cool vid idyl, the 9rain cameo was great lol
This man just ended every potential mobile sponsorship he could get 😭
But this man no try play toram online. Anyway toram online best mmorpg mobile f2p player
9/10 hilariously accurate. Watched this video while my mobile was in sandwich bag, idle gaming in the shower. Probably my fav vid from you
Look bro, I'm a simple man, when I see big number go bigger I get excited.
The Josh Strife Hayes cameo is gold. So is the rest of the video, I salute you dropping into the depths of insanity for a video, Idyl.
For Dofus Touch, the timer can also be see as the background of the player/monster that is currently playing.
It will start filling up with an orange bar to replace the grey background.
Man, your comedy style is very “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”
Edit: lol you even used a Sunny clip in this video. Perfect
That heartwood conversation was so painful to watch and funny at the same time lmao
Getting a Hoyoverse ad at the end of this video was the perfect ending to the Genshin teases.
The complaints about character creation were embarrassing for me as a MapleStory enjoyer bc that's just what regular MapleStory is like LMAO
A couple you left out that might've been worth checking out, Eve Echoes which is the mobile version of Eve Online and Vendetta Online which is another space MMO but first person flight combat simulator that's similar to Eve Echoes but with less P2W mechanics and a progression similar to what Albion has.
When you made the shrek joke I was waiting for a "3" to be added lmao
absolutely sent by being surprised by a gorgeous instrumental version of the flintstones theme
I find the Maplestory Section especially funny because its so different from other MMOS, because if you didnt know, Each class has a vastly different story with a lot of them being preset characters that you play through, I still think its a ton of fun but I also like playing maplestory as its own kinda odd RPG instead of an MMO and actually playing through the story so that might just be me.
totally understandable! I do think the mobile version is a mess, but my reaction to it's setup was 100% because I didn't know what I was getting into
@@IdylOnTVYeah, if you want to try it again and have something that you are more familiar with. I would recomend you play the Explorer, Cygnus Knight or Resistance classes. Those ones are all about YOUR character with no real presets in there.
Yeah theres like a million classes with their own unique stories! And i hold down the NPC/interact button and skip ALL OF THEM
Honestly a single player offline Maple game where you progress through the story of every class and have full control over your character like the PC version doesn't sound half bad
Too bad Nexon execs would never approve of it cause it cant be monetized like a live service casino or a microtransaction hell hole
The Kamala clip along with the Mobile Actually Good Alliance threw me 😅 good stuff.
lets go Heartwood Online!!
The end part was a roller-coaster of emotion 😢😂
You got a new sub for playing heartwood. Glad to see people enjoy these 2d mmos still.
Had quite a laugh watching, you are a funny guy. 😂 "rogue because i have mental illness" i lost it.
The kirby theme song during the black desert mobile minigame gave me so much memories
As a disabled person who can't use a PC for very long, I'd love more mobile mmorpgs.
I'm in the same situation about not being able to be at a desk for pc - so I use a laptop in bed! If you have the money (and are able to use a laptop) it's definatley worth getting one :)
@@MayCorn great that you got to join the gaming community! :)
Try toram you'll get hooked
i remember that game. thats a classic used to play that on my tablet for awhile@@ああああああああああああああ2あ

It wasn't long enough, I just furrowed brows and looked around my room in genuine confusion.
HETALIA JUMPSCARE IN 2024????
IKR
There was something bothering me about this video, but I just couldn't get it before realizing it was the absolutely bizarre choices made for background music.
I love it.
no asobimo title is crazy
the timer on dofus is in the turn order area where your icon and the enemy icons are. notice how the background of your or their portraits fills with orange, thats your timer.
Mobile MMO and not a single Asobimo game
The FLYFF soundtrack in the background at the beginning was nostalgic
How did you manage to get JSH to read dialog for you!? He must be down bad
There's a mobile MMORPG called Toram by a company called Asobimo that's my go to mobile MMO. It has a bag of features and close to no P2W or timegating
0:22 but bro... Steve Jobs stole the idea of apple from someone else and scewed them over.. left them in the dust..
Classic Apple stealing stuff lol
surprised you don't have subscribers in 100ks if not millions with the quality your videos have
Toram is the best mmo . The players control the economy, inflation, even weapons and armor potions everything is made buy players and the player base us very good and helpful
Weird to say that when RuneScape is on the list LOL
Missed a chunk of this due to the happy jingle version of boom boom boom playing
Heartwood is really fun!!
what is your favorite part ?
I got a Albion ad right as you started the transition to talking about it lmao.
Iruna online is a fairly decent classic-style MMO, but old, so I'd understand skipping it but....
Toram? Have you never seen it on any list or what? That game has some of the most unique MMO elements I've ever seen. (Though in all honesty I'd rather recommend playing PC version, controls are better imo)
anyone with a pc would wanna play that lol not to mention last time i played it the community sucked so bad which makes experience so bad
Hearing the Vengaboys jingle around the 16:00 minute mark was a better than average surprise
Heartwood is an awesome game 👌 my new favorite mmo
damn this video is really good, I wasn't expecting that much quality
no toram online ?
I don't even play MMOs but the old man voice Albion online ads are burned into my memory
RIP in Peace Order and Chaos. You were a garbage fire. But you were the best garbage fire and you left a greasy stain in your place
I’d prefer the whole video be made from the taint POV like at 33mins. Thanks idyll
Eh no Iruna Online or Toram Online?? Iruna Online was my first MMORPG and I played that for a about 7-9 years, it's better than a lot of the ones on this list.
You're so funny dude. The patreon hypnotherapy made me laugh out loud 😂😂😂
you forgot toram online
