Chris’s songs are always good for practicing chord changes. Beautiful song especially on the acoustic. I’ll definitely learn this version but as for singing....Cheers Ryan, brilliant lesson as usual.
wtf man. i was listening to shawn james sing this, and decided to open youtube for an acoustic tutorial. hellacious timing. thanks man! you're awesome!
there's no such thing as a bad taylor. just buy whichever one suits your hands and eyes and is in your price range. they're all good. There, I just prevented buyer's remorse for you. you're welcome and happy holidays :)!
Hey, me again, I’m sure it not just me, but It would be nice if u did a video regarding your guitar/music journey, because when a guitarist finds a good teacher, he wants to know the how u got to where u are now guitar wise and music wise. I’m sure you’ve had an interesting journey thus far. Hopefully other supporters will also request this, regardless. Thks and don’t stop.
Thanks Mate from Australia. Great Song, Great Artist (RIP), and a great Tutorial by you.. Cheers and Merry Xmas for 2020 for you and your Family. Appreciate all your videos.
Hey Ryan, sorry for the familiarity, I think I might have earned it because I leave nice comments. You my friend are very underrated for different reasons, but once people find u, it won’t be long that you will achieve great readership. Because u seem to understand what us aspiring guitarists songwriters, amateurs would like to see, even if your not reading our minds, your definitely giving the fans what they ask for ! Thks man, because of your clever breakdown, I just cut off another guitar sage, once I saw that u we’re addressing this song. No dis to other guy. But u got to be on top of ur game.
dude i LOVE this song but couldnt ever sing it, so THANK YOU so much dude, i knew i could probably transpose it to a different key but in all honesty i didnt have the patience
You should do a lesson on all hell for a basement by big sugar (campfire version too) would be much appreciated!! Ur lessons are all amazing by the way
Can I hire you to figure out a song that might not me popular for your channel? Remember that drop D thing by the really big guy I told you about before? “I’m on Fire” or something like that. I can’t replicate his awesome vocals but I could make it pretty good. But I just can’t figure out all that intricate stuff he does. Plus you always make things simpler when it’s crazy hard to do what the artist is doing exactly. You are amazing at your ability to make things “reachable”. Anyway, just let me know. I don’t want to be a pain.
I remember you showing me this before - he's in drop D but he's moving around on a G chord, so it sounds kinda unfamiliar bc it's a G/D, which is also what makes it sound neat. It's really easy to hire me, you just got to ryanlendt.com and book yourself a lesson :) I can definitely show you everything you want to know about this song.
Yeah I can belt it out in the original key with a band and it’s “okay”. I just play on the chorus and the bridge. I sure ain’t no Chris Cornell and I will never pretend to be. However on the acoustic I have to capo 1 and play it in Em as my belting doesn’t sound so good without the loud guitars behind me… lol
Ryan you've made a tutorial for literally every grunge song that I have listened to and continue to come across... how about getting started on tutorials for a new genre like prog rock? So many beautiful songs by underrated bands like porcupine tree, opeth, katatonia, riverside ... and not a single youtube channel making quality lessons on any of them. We proggers are quite the passionate lot and I believe if you start making lessons on them it'll help you gain a good amount of new traction on this channel. Give it a thought!
Me: Who wants to go out and sing campfire songs in the dead of winter? Midgets: No way, are you crazy? Me: I'll play Tom Morello's version of Cochise next... Midgets: Okay, we're in!
But what if I can’t sing and play at the same time? Hell, I can barely do either by themselves! Where do I put the capo then...actually don’t answer that
His acoustic version is a step higher than the album version. I down tune my guitar. I can sing either, but if I’m playing at the same time I go for the lower key. But these chords are cooler!
@@RyanLendt I find it easier to apply hyper glotal compression the higher the notes are, if you listen carefully to the album version, he sings it quite chill/layed down, but the live versions he digs more into the distortion in his voice, which is easier the higher you sing... (doesn't make it any easier for us mortals though...)
one of my favorites, always love when you do chris cornell songs!
cheers Trevor, you have great taste :)
Thanks Ryan, These songs helped me through a tough time and now your lessons are doing the same.
it's a great honor Devesh. thank you for being here.
Once again Ryan you have me putting down my electric and reaching for the acoustic, thanks for another great lesson.

Capo 3rd Fret.

Chorus:
Em, G, D, Em, Em, G, D, Em
C, Em, D, Em, C, Em, B7
Bridge:
C, G, B7, C, Cm, A7, B7, Em
C, G, B7, C, Cm, A7, B7
Another badass campfire song 😎🤘

@@RyanLendt Kids that say that they want to go camping, but when you actually go camping, they are "bored"

yeah you get to play B7!!
What a beautiful cat
Bull in the heather would be really nice
thanks for the idea Luiz

I wonder why Chris played this song higher, I guess it was easier for him, wasn't it?
My guess is we can't apply any logic to the answer of why Chris did things the way he did :)
