That's a VERY interesting line through 11 and 12. I thought his turn-in point would be later and that he would take a wider line between the two. But, you can't argue with the time. That is an unbelievably quick lap for a road car! Well done, Randy!
It's hard to take a later point at this track because the curbing and edge of track near the curbing has a bit of fall off angle that's really easy to spin the car out and lose traction on, and that's your worst enemy at 100 mph.
I've heard before that the quickest laps often look slow... Watching the footage, this looked tame and clean, a testament to the driver no doubt. Congrats to pilot and manufacturer.

I would give Randy credit (whether he wants it or not) for inspiring the sport compact car segment in the 90s with his Nuespeed Accord. Although I am partial to Mercedes, I think Porsche has the best sports cars, period.

Their cars are just stellar. The only problem with the GTRS is it’s price tag. I mean 450k is just way to much. Sure it’s fast around a track and everything but lacks the excitement and sound or like a Lamborghini or even a V-12 Ferrari the gt2rs doesn’t sound bad but just not worth the price

It would of been better if there was a normal GT2 in the 991 lineup which is faster in top speed than the 991 GT2 RS by about 7 mph or more. But then, they jumped ahead.

iRacing have VERY unrealistic tyres, you beat world records on every track easily. Try with rFactor 2, another story.

The “record” seems a bit too specific. “Production car”, at a circuit that is not particularly popular or known for manufacturers setting records on.
It's one of the top tracks in the USA. Petite Le Mans is held here to end the IMSA season. It's not the track, it's you.
Maybe an external microphone next time Porsche. I'd rather listen to the engine/exhaust sound than all that wind noise.
