I watched the series 2 times in a row yesterday, I can't find words, it's the best of the decade.
My favorite scene is the herding of the wild horses from 1.53 in this video.

I have to agree as this even applies to the people today...I can relate to this truthful story, or a compilation of thousands of stories, of the white people, of my people😢 ( indigenous) and of the peoples of other different faiths, that came here to this land, from different countries. It's almost like a documentary, with inserted autobiographies..

This is where “happy endings” have ruined our generation. 1883 gave a depiction of what life was somewhat like back in those days. Many people faced uncertain endings and it wasn’t always “happy.” If anything, it should make a lot of us feel grateful for what our ancestors had to go through and tolerate to make a better life for themselves and their families. Yeah the ending was tragic and very much heartbreaking, but it set up the fictional storyline perfectly for how Yellowstone became a ranch for the Duttons.

I think the show depicted history fairly well. A couple of my relatives traveled on the Oregon trail. One died along the way. It was a very difficult and dangerous trip from what I’ve learned. One I wouldn’t attempt.
I do think this show could hold up for a second season. Playing out the storylines a bit more instead of packing so much into a few episodes. IMO It was a bit disjointed at times. Not many though. Either way looking forward too 1932.

This show got so cringey. If you thought this episode was good, you're probably a teenage girl. Elsa is an edge lord teenager who embodies cant pull her weight because the love of her life (a guy she barely knows) dies. Then falls in love with a native she knows nothing about because he beat her in a horse race and complimented her hair. She knows nothing of his way of life and is willing to abandon her family on a whim for a man she truly knows nothing about. Horrible protagonist, incredibly arrogant.

Take it in your world there were no interracial marriage between the local tribes and the Caucasians heading west. You are very narrow minded and incredibly ignorant.

I've never hated a character so much in my entire life. My family and I love Yellowstone and thus spinoff. Elsa was beyond annoying. If this story took place in 2022 she would be labeled a bratty spoiled child. But for some reason in this show its okay? She "fell in love" twice. The white dude at the beginning, wow she couldn't live without him. After she dies absolutely nothing is said about him. Just the Indian. Then we have to hear her annoying ass voice narrating the whole show? Holy sht. Was enough to make me stop watching.

Who prey tell was she going to hook up with? If her mother had not insisted that she put on a white woman's dress so that the soldiers would not be offended, she would have probably lived to have children.
