    Thank you Douglas! I'm o glad to hear positive recovery stories! I find that many times when you hear stories of mental illness it is associated with something bad like suicide....which in turn when someone is struggling they feel "oh no I guess that's how this ends up." We need more like you that inspire to show that you too can overcome and go to lead a successful and fulfilling life.

    Born autistic.
    Bullied all through school.
    Depression at 15.
    Schizophrenia at 18.
    Narcissistic parents & sister.
    No friends.
    No family.
    No girlfriend (by choice).
    But!
    No addictions, and I don't break the law.
    I'm a college graduate.
    I am well mannered and courteous to people.
    I am extremely lucky.
    I'm not a victim, I'm a survivor.
    Thank You God.

    Love this title. Someone who has been fortunate to not enter the depression bat cave is that getting to the want can even be the issue but im looking forward commitng no to a routine, diet and excersise. Even tho i know its not going to be a walk in the park, but Im welcoming the feeling. in some cases just getting to feel again is still feeling lol

    Thanks Douglas. I see myself spiraling again. Comparing myself to people and regrets are my biggest issues right now. Sometimes instead of anxiety I just wish it all would end.

    This story really give me hope I heard this word like two days ago and looked it up it’s like god put things in front of us so we can see how far we can grow and I know I’m dealing with anxiety and depression right now but on day ima wake up and be myself again it will happen I just gotta keep my faith and trust god that it will

    applaude you for your contribution towards supporting mental health issues/recovery.
    Your website has been my "go to" site for several years and as I know it's been the that for many others too.
    Your approach to the topic is very professional and your videos implemented in a way that people who are
    experiencing mental illness can put to good account.

    Thank you sir. I am in a very depressing state currently, I am going through a break up. Suicidal ideations are coming up every time. I feel there's no hope. But watching your videos gives me hope and a look forward feeling for the future. Keep making such videos. Thank you so much.

    I have been depressed from very early childhood. I believe my connection with people has messed up my life. I have never felt comfortable with people, even my own mother, and i hate to say it, but i've never actually liked her, she's been a useless mother, and yet i am human and need to be loved! I am a group animal! How resilient am i or can i be? Oh yes, i've lived to the age of nearly 60, but my quality of life has always been poor.
    It's said "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" I'm still waiting to feel stronger!

    I have severe anxiety bad as it is... last week my dad died now I'm suffering nausea heart flutrers... and alsorts of symptoms. 😢😢😢

    how do you reach this state of mind of the glass half full? If you are in the dumps how do you switch gears? How do you precipitate an upward swing and get hold of yourself?

      Part of the answer is seeing a counselor and doing other forms of mental health treatment. Also gratitude helps because it change you to see what is working it instead of what is not working. For example, when I was depressed and suicidal I was grateful that at least I had a roof over my head and food to eat as well as some friends

      As I said in my last email, I hope you find some good psychiatrists or counselors in your area. Or perhaps you could go to your local church or other spiritual community and ask help from one of the spiritual advisors.

    The God honest truth, tho, is that I wouldn't be if I was childless. I was suicidal in 2014 and srsly would have gone through with it if not for my daughter.
