There are a few suggestions worth trying
Work out why you are shy - the first step to solving a problem is understanding why it is there.
Be comfortable about yourself - this makes it less difficult
Just do it - you will feel better by doing things - especially by doing activities that stretch your limits.
(I read these and more ideas from Martos magic method website )

Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you.
They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt,
they're scarred from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about,
they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now,
they are sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you dont feel alone
anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed about the past, don't worry about the future, and
just focus on today. If today's not so great don't worry! Tomorrow's a new chance.
If you are reading this, be sure to share this around to make others feel better. Have a nice day.
    :)

One day, about 10 years ago, I sat down and asked myself this question: " Bob, what is the longest relationship you have had in your life?" and the answer was easy, "Why, with ME of course!" ergo " I AM the only expert on my life, so why am I listening to other people telling me there is something wrong with me". I now know that all of me is ok!

    • @MsMuddled
      @MsMuddled 4 роки тому +1

Bob Eden - a psychotherapist helped me explore my childhood, which I had always expected was the root of my MDD; MDD didn't manifest until several decades afterwards (when another tragedy seemed to trigger everything).
She was the first counsellor that started with my childhood, after several decades of attempting counselling which was somewhat helpful, for support at least. This counsellor that helped me was the fifth counsellor. I still struggle, but I try to use some of the help she gave me during our limited number of sessions.
      Call me a kindred spirit.

Most teachers said nice things about me to my parents(I suffer from depression myself for few years till now I am still fighting)
but deep down it is hard not to think about the guilt and voices in my head for even the slightest small things I did felt wrong.

Thank you for this video. I have a similar story. I was in a relationship with my ex-fiance and was blind-sided when he called off our wedding. After we separated I fell out of contact with several of our mutual friends. I also lost the dog we had together. And after a year of this my mom fell into a severe drug addiction and our relationship became toxic so I made the decision to cease contact with her and she has not contact me in over two years. I have a SIGNIFICANTLY smaller support system now and feel chronic loneliness. I believe the lack of human connection has caused my depression. I believe that love, an abundantly strong support system, and human connection can help ease (and maybe even cure) depression for some people. I hope to recover like you did!

I've recenly just told my parents about how bad my depression has become. I was prescribed medication to make me feel better but now being about a week in the side effects juat aren't worth it. I must be an idiot though because that wont solve the problem at hand. I have decided to do counseling and push myself to do things I am normally to anxious to do. Even writing this comment is not at all something I would do. Feel free to give me an opinion on this.

    • @DouglasBloch
      @DouglasBloch  4 роки тому +4

Pushing yourself to do things that you would normally not to is an excellent idea. Over time, the things you had a hard time doing will become easier. Many people who recover from anxiety or depression use this technique

Rosangela, How are you now ? To feel better reduce negative thoughts. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Do the practice without any expectations. When taking a walk, at office, in college, when reading, before sleep etc observe your breath sensations. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a better life. Reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes--Counsellor.

    hey brother,
Everything you pin pointed about what you were going through is exactly what Im going through right now
Its ruining my relationships with friends and family and its so overwhelming, Im constantly telling myself in my head "its just a thought" "it will pass" etc . then it goes away for abit then later on my attitude and negative mood comes back again, i reach out to my close family members but its hard to explain it to them when I know they dont know how it feels, its so frustrating but I thank you for giving me hope and ideas on how to get better
    cheers

Thank you very much for noticing and replying whoever you are its been 7 months since i posted that coment and i can say that im doing fine its been ups and downs but i say to the people suffering from depression from my experience so far the only thing that will cure you its challenging yoursef starting with daily tasks and having ambitions having a dream that you an follow when you wake up in the morning and working hard till you get it i know that this may seem somthing people say comonly but you have to try it and you have to understand that life is hard get over it you just have to face the truth in whats happening around you and not complain about the situation you are but stop and think for ways to make it better.

I’ve been managing my depression and anxiety with medication for about 16 years .
Recently I’ve experienced this black tar depression for about 2 days at a time a few times .
Also something new for me last week I paced for 3 hours in the morning from 5:30 to 8:30!am , never felt manic like this before . I did have to put my black lab to sleep I had her for 15 years and animals are very comforting for me . I have rescued a puppy since then we needed each other 😍
I have moved and finding a new dr now .
It can be a scary difficult time .
Thanks 🙏 for your Chanel 👍🏼

I teach at Alaqsa University. Its a state university in Gaza Strip, Palestine. Gaza is the world's largest open air prison in the world. The UN estimated that more than 80% of Gazans are severely depressed. We do not have facilities or treatments. Most people take drugs randomly to treat depression. You saved so many lives in Gaza and in the middle-east where people suffer harsh circumstances from wars to poverty to terrorism, etc. God bless you, Douglas. You are an angel. You are the hero of the poor people around the world.

Now I remember reading your book Listening to Your Inner Voice many years ago and liked that it acknowledged resistance to affirmations. So coming across these videos and realizing that undiagnosed depression has likely blocked me taking in affirmations until now seems very appropriate, somehow. Thank you and God bless you. I wonder if there are prayer circles to help people with depression.
