Good video Ed. My 300 also drank a full tank on the morning session and I’m way slower than you. after watching how you gear around that track I think I need to get off my pipe a bit to save fuel. Prob gain speed too lol What were you taking those corners on the back field in 4th? 5th? It was a Sweltering day mate I had a round dust patch on my face stuck by the sweat 😶🌫️🤮 😂
You don't only save fuel but you save a ton of energy as well. With that amount of dust the grip really isn't there to use anyway. I'm not sure what gears I use just go off the feel and sound. Probably 3rd 4th but depending on sprockets it will be different bike to bike. At the end of the first 2 hours I'd done 7 laps and still had fuel to spare. That said I've done my fair share of pushing that bike over the line when I've got it wrong! I think I'm still finding dust to be honest 😅
@@BikerEddd 😂 I only did 5 laps = full tank gone well didn’t run out but just pulled in and had about 3 carb fulls left! Problem is always only done motocross started with tbec last year so it’s a very different riding style to mx so just getting used to it. Your videos inspired me to try use my gears more for the houghton conquest event! 👍 bit nervous on this one I was the one that hit a tree and broke my leg last year at houghton! 🫣
@@TrackLife396 I'm not sure I'd even manage to use fuel that fast if I tried! Admittedly I'm on a TPI but I've not really found it uses any less fuel than a carb. I'm not sure there is a right or wrong just differing riding styles. Unfortunately I can't make Houghton but give it a go and see how you get on! Especially in the woodland low down 300 grunt is great. Try not break anything else this time though!
Fair play #awkwarded - I don't think people always appreciate just how tough it is to ride and talk, let alone whilst racing for 2 hours in 30 degrees. My highlight was you saying that it would be very aggressive for him to overtake you in the woods, having just aggressively overtaken some poor bloke in the previous woods... 😉
