This song is not only musically epic, but the meaning behind it is very heartbreaking. The song was written about Amy’s loneliness while on tour for Fallen. Knowing what we know now about the goings-on in the band during that time, going back and listening to this song, you can really feel Amy’s pain! Such a good song! And the chamber choir in the background singing in Portuguese to tie in the whole Lisbon theme. CHEF’s KISS.
Lisbon is the capital of Portugal, (Eurovision 2018 was held there). Interesting reference city for the lyrics, maybe during a tour there. This was one of the ones from The Open Door that returned for the Orchestral Synthesis album.
