Gladiator school, means a place where violence and fighting is non stop.
It is astonishing that such a place can still exist in the 21st century, especially in the US. The US really need to do something about their prison system. It is atrocious, and the recidivism rate is much too high. But I guess that is what you can expect from a country that is controlled by the 1%.
Well, it's not just the 1%. It's also the people who insist that criminals who do the crime must do the time. But you couldn't be more right about the prison system! 😰

Unreal that 16 year old kids were put in a hellhole like Rikers Island.
Kalief Browder: accused of stealing a backpack at night by a person of Indian/Middle Eastern descent who had shoddy vision and was inconsistent whenever questioned. He was locked up in 2010 at Riker's Island, spent three years in holding without trial (3/4 of which was in solitary confinement), and was eventually released without restitution or acknowledgement of wrongful imprisonment. He developed schizophrenic characteristics, and roughly two years after his release, he took his own life. The paranoia and isolation drove him insane. He was 17 when he went in.

i say criminals deserve this treatment they deserve brutal beatings and inhumane conditions. why? cause criminals are not people they are animals who deserve no human rights and deserve to be beaten to the point of being mentally broken and these criminals deserve to be treated like trash and like a animal

Poor horrible criminals. Only in the US are criminals treated like children and the true victims (theirs) are ignored. "Who cares what they did!? They shouldn't be treated like the garbage they are!" Solution: Violent crimes get you the death penalty and not 20 years worth of appeals either. Taken out back the following week.

Also….. Rikers isn’t a prison it’s jail meaning people are being held there just for trial or awaiting other things so people in there are also innocent these are not all convicted or people so while waiting to get out during your trial you will be fighting for your life.
What happened to Layleen Polanco at Rikers was just disgusting. Whether you stand with transgender people or not no person deserves to die the way she did. Disgraceful.

Rikers is a great place. I was the volley ball champion three years in a row. spent 25 years there. great people, very nice place

I detest the DOC system in the States. We have the resources to be much more civilized and focus on rehabilitation, but we don't do it. I've worked in DOC and it makes me wish I had the money and power to reform our penal system to something that leaves inmates better off when they leave than when they came in.
And I've beat 60% of all of em.
Try the "wall" in oklahoma. Good luck. I'd rather be there than the wall
