This is the video that impressed me to the point of being convinced me to order a DIY kit. Having finally built it and started jamming, this video is impressive in an entirely new way. This is some expert-level synth operation. It boggles the mind how an 8-bit bitimbral synth (along with a simple reverb pedal and minimalist drum sequence) can sound like something straight off a Future Sound of London Album from the 1990s. The honeymoon is just beginning.
thanks!! with a ROAT + FREAQ there could be a LOT going on 😂 im thinking ua-cam.com/video/p-gLrnLh44k/v-deo.htmlsi=l05V1stKw85890oL&t=730 plus this: instagram.com/p/CwzvUP5JX9n/
Such a beautiful device capable of creating even more beautiful sounds - I am really happy I ordered mine and it’s already on its way. Can’t wait to get my hands on it 😅
Built mine today and startet to play. Crazy sounds which I have to tame :D . I think it is not that complicated when I have studied the manual. A question which I haven't found answered: The Freak is mono sound output, isn't it?
@@wireheadinstruments To build it for me was quite easy. I have little soldering experience. The manual explains every step very well. The cover front plate looks absolutely amazing. Great development. Thx!
Hi, great to hear 😊 yes stock will be in around the end of February 23, including assembled units. Some units are heading to international retailers but some will be shipped from my workshop in Australia. No plans for availability in physical stores yet though.
@@MrDjaremko1982by the way, you can mount this in a rack now if you're interested - we have prototype panels (22hp) and the pcb already has eurorack power socket ready for a header to be soldered on. caveat is audio output isn't eurorack level (~4v p-p) but if you're interested drop us a line via the wireheadinstruments.com/support or DM on instagram.
Hi Shaigh, thanks for the feedback! Will post a clean audio demo in the future. In the meantime there are other videos on the channel which have just the Freaq or with bass drum only so you can hear what it can do. Check out our insta too for other demos (although lots have drums - it is a techno-leaning synth after all!)

The build in 2 voice sequencer lines is a great idea for this device. Thx for sharing.
Love it! Also love that I can choose led colors!

Take the drums out so we just hear the unit... What a mess... ☹️
