Nice upgrade!!! Still need a back bumper!!! Lol!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Your so right about a rear bumper
Only tighten the bushing bolts once the truck is resting on the ground.
Why is this
@@alfonsobernabe4291 Its based on traditional vulcanized rubber bushings (like he one on his rear shackle, not a polyurethane like the front). That bushing center spacer is bonded to the rubber, and it doesnt rotate freely, so weight needs to be on the spring to tighten the center of the bushing in its static ride height position. The way he did it in the video, the bushing is preloaded at ride height and is trying to twist its way up. It shortens the life o the bushing and can lead to harsh ride and un even ride height.
So how was the ride quality vs the blocks? I tried looking for review video but no luck
Great way to spend a Saturday evening with Truck Master ... looks awesome
Thanks for the encouragement 👍
Why did you not just have a spring shop re arc the older springs and add 2 or 3 leafs?
One, very few places, if any, will "re arc" an old spring set, and two, more importantly, the eyelet mount distance would be far too short.
Now you need a back bumper to match the front one
You should bed line your bed
Nice upgrade. Lift springs that actually allow you to haul stuff when needed. Now for a new rear bumper. I say do a roll pan with a flip up license plate that has a hidden receiver 👌
why did the older lifts springs not allow towing?
Any update on those leaf springs?
I would still highly recommend them. They are very comfortable and hold the weight well when I’m pulling a trailer
Waiting on that review on how it rides I've heard they ride a lot softer in the rear with those Springs
chris kriewall I hope so. The BDS lift I’m getting has those.
Well how does it ride with these springs?
I may need to replace mine on my 2007 GMC Sierra Classic 2500HD Duramax
Just looking at options.
But as nice as the Deaver Leaf Springs are, don’t know if I can justify $850.😳
Looks good, about to do the same and add airbags. What 6" fit do you have? I have the FabTech and was looking at BDS 5" rear springs to match. Why Deaver, just wondering?
I hear the quality is much better so figured I’d try it out also it’s a much smoother ride
Nice I broke my stock leaf spring. Going to fix it myself thanks for the info…
Couldn’t find the video reviewing these a month later? Is it on your channel? Are they worth it? Ride quality much improved?
Are these 4” leaf springs equivalent to having 6” lift with blocks on factory springs?
What size of deaver springs do i need if i have a 4.5 bds lift on my truck ? It currently has block.
How do I get my wheels back on by just snapping my fingers?
Nice upgrade look good
All this work and you’re gonna need a “shop assistant” soon
I’m hiring 👍
Truck Master I work for free 🤷🏽♂️🤫
Nice 👍
Do you have the correct angle for your axle with these? (Driveshaft angle)
Yes
I dig it
Truck does look awesome, definitely come along way. Nice job and thank you for bringing us on the journey
Thanks
I was watching another video on the Deaver Springs and they mentioned they dropped about 1" to 1 1/2" after they settled. Thanks for sharing.
You and sent it Steve should be neighbors!😂
That would be awesome
Wow thanks for the motivation. I know my spring break job
Looks sweet !!
thanks
Love your channel bro! I gotta LB7 and since watching this I've been binge watching what I need for my build. Great stuff man.
What was the front end lift?
The truck is sick. I'm planning on working with Deaver to get a custom 2in lift pack for my 3500. I'm trying to get information from anyone that has run them for a while and see if they are worth the money. What is your opinion on this pack for towing? Do you like it? Worth the money? I have a deaver pack on my long travel Tacoma but that is apples to oranges and I have not found anyone to talk to that has them on a heavy duty diesel truck for towing. Also I was not planning on getting traction bars but obviously I would if I had to, what is your opinion on this as well? great channel.
From what I was told this setup is ideal for towing Deaver is your best bet
Update on how they are? Are they worth it?
Put a 10k bumper pull trailer and pull it thru the area and up a couple of up hills and back down. I think that would be a real world test to see some of the handling.
Now the install for the injectors is coming up in a couple of months now. Lol
Hopefully soon
They look so much more heavy !💪🏻
These are definitely heavier
Can I have your old set up
Looks solid. Been wanting to do something similar in my 05
Nice!! I have the deaver mini pack on the back of my 1500. Huge difference in ride quality.
What truck do you have?
Looking good bro 👍🏻
Thanks 🙏
Excellent video!!!! I always learn something watching your channel!!!!
Thanks
I really like the way the truck is going but my ocd self says you really need to get the trim on your tailgate :-P
Yes you are right thanks for reminding me
Those springs look really legit!!
Definitely 👍
Looks solid👍
Thanks
Where u at in Ohio ?
Where u at in Ohio ?
Excuse my ignorance here, what’s the difference between simply adding additional leafs to the stock leaf springs vs going with some of these?
These use multiple thin leaves to give a progressive spring rate
@@sebastianmuglia7451 Ah I see. Would these give you a softer ride then vs adding additional leafs?
Yes these are softer and get stiffer as they compress. Adding regular leaves will make it a stiffer ride
Awesome springs. That was cool to see truckmaster on the spring sticker.
Thanks I though that was a nice touch
will it fit 37s?
I have a 6” lift on my truck now and I’m planning on lowering it to 4” but I don’t want blocks do you recommend 2” lift springs?
Stickers
How is the ride quality in comparison to the old leaf+block combo?
Ya know, if you leave everything lose when installing the new springs, you don't have to use straps and such to get the pin lined up. Loosen both sides and don't tighten anything until you get both new springs in and the pins aligned, then tighten everything up. Anyway, those looked like nice springs, however Deaver doesn't make springs for older, square body, GM trucks.
What did ya torque the rear wheels to? 120 ft lbs? Thoughts of running a banks diff cover?
I went 157 ft lbs
Just an option, I don't like the looks of after market diff covers. It looks like poor man's upgrade. Put your money on useful upgrades. Hope I didn't offend you it's just my opinion.
Recently I’ve been debating on removing a leaf from the rear of my truck, in hopes my ride quality will improve in the rear. It’s a 1500 but has 5 leafs, I’m thinking the previous owner had done add a leaf. The truck is also lifted 6 inches so I am interested to see how your truck will ride now with more leafs to make up for the blocks.
So far so good I will keep you guys updated
@@TruckMaster How are they?
What would you recommend for a 2in leaf spring for a smoother better ride 98.5 dodge ram2500 4x4
Gonna have to get some new tires before winter! Unless it’s gonna stay in the garage to keep it clean. My rockers split open and it just sucks. Keep the salt off it and keep it cherry.
I’m really considering keeping this one in the garage
Truck Master what truck will you drive in the winter ❄️ time?
Truck Master you’ve done a ton of work to get rid of the cancer on it. Don’t start “smoking” again and give it a reason to come back. (Figure of speech of course) Drive the Tahoe. Need something with ground clearance. I know your snow up there. You’re is worse then mine. And that’s not saying much for my area (mass.)
Looks awesome!
Didn't see the review/update video. Looking for a way to soften the back end ride and hoping these help as advertised.
I’m not a 4x4 or a Chevy guy. Hey slick video nice truck . Thanks
If you wanted to put a exhaust tip on what inch would you wanna get a 5inch or 8inch and what brand would you want to get. I love the sound of your truck I love the whistle sound with turbo with the 5inch exhaust straight pipe.
I like your trk one I will buy me one just like that I'm from Guam nice 👍
Another helpful video from the master. Thanks.
I have a five inch block on mine would like to do something better
sweet ride! i have a 2016 silverado 1500 with a 6 inch BDS lift. recently iv fallen into the "chevy rear end clunk" category lol. iv tried installing the add a leaf kit but still annoying so my next step is new shackles and deaver springs. how is the ride quality? any issues since the install?
i was thinking of getting a 4.5 bds lift but don't know what to go with a block lift or a spring lift which rides pettet?
About to install deavers on my tacoma , kinda similar but good tips and great words of motivation. Good work
What is the weight rating for those springs
Josh did you need pinion angle shims with these?
Love all of your videos- RDS turbo, HSP, etc- Ive been following your lead. So helpful. So did you ever do a follow up video? I have a 7in BDS Congnito and Kryptonite setup but the 5 in blocks are killing me with the heavy Bradford Built flatbed sagging it down (even with bags). How do they tow and ride?
Deaver’s one of the best springs on the market… but there are others.
Sup man
Hi 👋
You should get the cat filters for your lift pump
Now you need a lift kit on your garage :)
Been looking at doing the same thing to get rid of the blocks on my '03.
looking good and another great video
Thanks
@@TruckMaster welcome really like the content and have a LB7
Didn't grease bushings?
I will take those blocks
Question #1 the rear ends on both my 02's lockup like they are posi. So why the posi upgrade?
#2 I'd like to lift my crew long bed because it looks dumb being so long. I figured 2"-3" is all. I don't want to turn the torsion bars because it handles funny as it is. Any idea the best way?
Also if you went to 6" you may have to pull the header above the garage door to get it out. Haha. That would be a good video.
The posi upgrade replaces the gm style which uses clutch’s and a centripetal weight to engage, with a dodge unit where it’s like a true track and it’s all gear to gear so nothing can wear out and it’s more robust
Did you have a sticker made by deaver with your UA-cam channel put on the leaf spring?
They come shipped like that I use Truckmaster as a company name that’s probably why it says that. Either way it looks cool 😎
Did you ever give a flip kit a thought. There 4" also
I have a 6” lift currently
Major respect to the new intro, Josh!!!!
So can you reuse your u bolts at least for a little while untill new ones arrive
You can but I wouldn’t recommend it
KOOL
What traction bars do you have?
Wcfab
I bet you cringe everytime you pull the truck in to the garage to not scrape the top on the garage opening. Lol. It gets me everytime you pull in and not get stuck. Lol!
I do but it usually always fits 😂
😎👌🇺🇸
So if I have a 6in lift on my truck should I get the 4in leaf springs?
Yes
@@TruckMaster Ok thanks! The stock ones are creaking badly.
I try to put a fuel cat kit on my duramax 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500hd. Now my truck in not run. How can I fix it.
Put fuel in the filter and bleed the fuel system of air.
Did you try to put the cat kit on or did you do it? If truck in not run. Uninstall it. Go back to stock. There's no better filtration then the ac delco for that truck.
@@GMbusa1 thanks
@@grin64 thanks
Do you think that a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Classic 4X4 with 150,00 for $27,000 a good price?
I’d pay 24k if it is in mint shape
Truck Master thx for replying and keep up the good work 👍
There's one in Spokane for 24k and I thought it was high. But looking at it hard it's gorgeous. And loaded even has wood grain accent. Is yours the classic body?
grin and bear it - yea it’s a classic body I want a diesel for my next truck and don’t know anybody that has one or knows a lot about them
Only if mint with leather and sunroof. 17.5k without either.
Looks great 👍
👍 I appreciate it
You should get some liners for rear wheel wells, but that truck keeps getting prettier and prettier each video!
Thanks
Great vid Josh. That red has really grown on me. Keep up the great job and vids.
