Is your friend Steve using the same systems except the speakers at his different homes or did 3mA curate each system for each home's listening space?

Each one has different electronics. He's using my servers, but even those are different.

Why are these being unpacked at the dealer if they are for a customer? I would think they would be shipped directly to the customer and 3mAudio would install them there. Either way incredible speakers.

Off topic. i see in the video 3ma is a dealer of both aurender and innuos , im considering the statement and n20. i only need the streaming transport capability. any thoughts on that lineup?

They just started carrying the innuos. Both should be fine, but I'm not a fan of the price/value equation with these servers. I build my own because I require video capabilities, but either of those should suit your needs. I prefer the Hifi Rose though to either.

Unlike Dacs, streamers hit peak performance pretty early in terms of price. Mano Ultra MkII at around $1,000 has two Femto clocks, low noise internal Class A LPSU, i2S & AES/EBU outputs, Furutech IEC inlet. If you have extra cash its better invested into a good Dac or preamp. Having said that if you must have the LCD screen then Aurrender is better than Innuos.

Get the Aurender- I just bought one and I’m very happy with it. It offers features Innuos can’t match…

@@keeferdog5617 I spoke with my dealer on Saturday about all the frustrations I have had with my Rose 150 and he recommended an Aurender. I'm going to check it out next weekend.

according to Jay's Audio Lab....Magico's are impossible to drive without the best amps available....so what's the point ?

    • @AudiophileJunkie
      @AudiophileJunkie  2 роки тому +2

I'm not a subscriber, so I'm not familiar with that comment or the context of what he said, but how many has he tried? Is that what magico says...or their dealers?
Based on the tour I featured on my channel, the 3mA guys told me magico routinely changes the electronics used in their reference room to ensure it sounds good on a variety of electronics. Does this guy Jay even use what they use?
Hyperbolic statements like that are usually based on limited, false, or primitive information.
If someone says something like that...I would ask...What are the "best amps available"? How bad do they sound without and why? What's so unique about the design to make them "impossible to drive"?
Speakers like Apogees could be easily explained by experts in the past as to why certain amps and power are required. Was similar info provided to support that statement about Magicos?
Also, a major tweak company uses magicos at every show and has driven them with McIntosh for years. Are those the best amps available? They claim to have "won best sound at show" many times.
I know people with the smaller Magicos and modest priced amps. They have been happy for years.
Opinions and limited anecdotal evidence can be conflicting. In short, I'd be cautious about accepting hyperbolic statements as gospel from anyone...much less those with only limited experience in the generalization they are making.

@@AudiophileJunkie thank you Jason, Jay owns the Magico 7 drives them with Boulder 3060 amp / pre....he stated that without the finest amps the Magico's will never reveal their true capabilities...

You could say that about any speaker I guess. It's more about finding the RIGHT amp for the speaker and tastes. Some that listen in small rooms at low volume have different needs than others in big rooms and high volumes.
Plus you have the factors of tube flavors and efficiency of speakers.

@@AudiophileJunkie Jay (of Jay's Audio Lab) tends to be rather hyperbolic in his approach to audiophilia. He is relatively new into the hobby, and has spent a lot of money trading gear to get top of the line equipment, which appears to be aimed at starting his own business in the industry (he does consulting now I believe.) He seems like a fun guy but I don't put a lot of stock into his claims, given his obsession with minutiae such as power cables.

@@DrBroncanuus IMO you have that backwards. Just because the Magico's don't reveal their full capabilities without something like the Boulder amps, doesn't mean that Magico requires any special amplification, any more than any other speaker. What Jay is saying is that the Magico is more revealing than just about any other speaker, for better or for worse. So if you have less revealing speakers, then the Boulder amp will likely sound about the same as most $2-5K amps. The same applies to the music you play. If you play music that is not well-recorded and well-engineered, then the Magico's will not reveal their true capabilities.

yeah, im a little jealous. but your "friend" isn't an audiophile. to be a true audiophile you have to pay your dues over time. I imagine for him. high end audio is just the flavor of the month. next year it will be some other millionaires' toy that will catch his interest. cars, boats or real estate. when you belong to the more money than brains club it's like having a Crows attention to shiny objects. but the attraction is only temporary and fleeting.
